I can't overstate the positive impact Dr. Robin & team have had on my fur baby's life. After a bad experience with a previous vet, I avoided taking my cat to another. But when I took him to Dr. Robin's office, the difference was immediate -- she was so friendly and calm, even though my cat was very unhappy to be there, trying to bite her, etc. She was able to detect a significant pain issue that was partially responsible for his volatile temperament. After getting him on the right medication and changing his diet, he was like a different cat -- so much nicer, happier, and more active! Their office has cat-specific rooms that offer a more friendly experience to cats specifically, and the team always goes out of their way to make my cat (and me!) as comfortable as possible for his visit. Dr. Robin takes the time to explain everything she's doing and why and goes over test results thoroughly. She's always calm and patient with my cat, even though he is cranky every single time he goes in. This makes the visit much less stressful for both of us. My cat is nearly 17 years old, and I've been taking him to Dr. Robin for more than ten years, even though I live in a Denver now -- it's worth it to know my cat will be getting the best possible care, and I wouldn't consider taking him anywhere else. The team is very flexible in meeting my work schedule (since I travel to bring him in), shipping his medication, and helping me get his prescription food. I can't recommend Dr. Robin enough.

We have nothing but amazing things to say about Dr. Robin and her wonderful staff. Being new to the area, Windsor Vet Clinic was recommended to us by a family friend, so we gave them a shot. We brought in our 12 year old Shar Pei with severe skin issues. I Should add we were hesitant to do so as no other vet had been able to figure out what was wrong. Well, not only did Dr. Robin figure out the issue, she treated him, got his hair to grow back, and made it possible for him to fully enjoy the remainder of his time with us. Every time we see her, she continues to blow my mind not only with her knowledge, but with the kind demeanor she carriers herself with. We currently have an 11 month old Dane, Anubis, who LOVES going to his check ups because he knows he will be greeted by an amazing staff who is always happy to see him (even when he smacks them with his tail). Personally, I love the professional relationship I have with the staff and Dr. Robin, I know that she will do right by my pets, and that she will answer any question I have with expertise and above all KINDNESS. In fact, my heart hurts for the day she retires; she is the BEST vet I’ve ever come across. Lastly, I sleep soundly at night knowing I give my money to an ethical business that follows COVID protocols, is women owned AND truly care to form a good relationship with my pets. Thank you Dr. Robin for everything you do, we appreciate you!

I went to Windsor Veterinary Clinic with my two dogs last month because we just moved to Colorado from Maryland and I wanted to establish a new vet relationship. Dr. Robin was very thorough. She did bloodwork on my 15 year old goldendoodle and prescribed thyroid medication and Hill prescription food for kidney conditions. She put my rescue dog on a diet and Hill prescription dog food as well. I left with a bag of each dogs food. I ran out of food for my rescue almost two weeks ago and had placed an order with Chewy.com where I buy all my pet supplies. Chewy sent an email to Dr. Robin for approval. A week later, Chewy called to say Dr. Robin did not approve. When I called the vet office, I was told that Dr. Robin had issues in the past with Chewy and would not approve the prescription. I was told to purchase the food from Dr. Robin or Hill at Home. I stated that I have never had an issue with Chewy, that it was cheaper there and they delivered within a day or two. I then ordered the food from Petco. I received an email this morning from Petco stating Dr. Robin refused to approve the order. That was the final straw. We were happy with the treatment our dogs received but I want to order dog food where i want to, not where she tells me to. My rescue has now been without diet dog food for two weeks because Dr. Robin refuses to work with me. With all four members of our household being laid off due to Covid-19, I want to save money wherever I can. I will be changing vets as of today.

My wife and I (and our pups) have had the benefit of Dr. Robin Downing's experience and expertise for many years. Her compassion, caring, and kindness for our animals is second to none. We feel fortunate to have such a treasure involved in helping us care for our furry companions.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Downing and her practice. Bindi, my crazy husky, gets so excited every time we walk through her door! She is always greeted with yummy treats and a smiling staff. Dr. Downing is extremely knowledgeable and takes it upon herself to stay up to date with the latest research and science. I am surprised to read some of the negative reviews left in regards to a "rude and unprofessional staff", unreasonable prices, and "fat shaming"/ forcing vaccinations. As someone who has worked in numerous animal shelters, I have seen first hand the result of lazy pet owners who do the bare minimum for their animals. I guarantee none of the vaccinations, heart worm prevention protocol, or medications she suggests are unnecessary. If Dr. Downing told you your animal was "obese", I would trust that she is telling you that because she genuinely wants your pet to live a long and healthy life. Now, if you want a quick, cheap, and indifferent veterinarian, Dr. Downing is not it. Her services and care are not cheap because her credentials alone are worth the extra money. I feel fortunate to have found a clinic that cares so much about Bindi, and I highly recommend Dr. Downing to anyone who loves their pet as much as I do!

For people who love their pets, taking them to a pain specialist is essential to ensure they are not in pain. The sad reality is that so many of our wonderful pets are in pain, and you'll be amazed, impressed, and thankful when you see how much this medical service helps them! We have entrusted our four-legged friends to Dr. Downing's care for 15+ years and can't say enough about her expertise!

I am a longtime customer at the clinic and all of my cats have received premium care. They focus on the comfort of the pet and giving the best and most up to date care available. During the pandemic they are still allowing me to be with my cats when I take them in as long as I follow safety guidelines. I feel safe and my cats feel safe having me there with them. It means the world to me to be able to be with them and offer the reassurance that they need during the appointment. Treatments and tests are always thoroughly explained and questions answered. For someone who loves their cat or dog like family I would highly recommend Windsor Veterinary Clinic.

About 11 weeks ago my 13 year old White Shepherd, Akeela, was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma. She had her right front leg removed in an effort to manage her pain that was being caused by the cancer. It was the hardest decision of my life. Around 3 weeks post-op her recovery took a turn for the worse. She began incessantly pacing, panting, whining, and would even let out painful yelps throughout the day. She was clearly in agony and was not healing the way she was supposed to. I had taken her to several Oncologists over a two week period and after extensive testing, they still could not tell me *what* was causing her pain. One clinic even recommended that I consider 'humane euthanasia.' We tried a variety of medications (Gabapentin, Hydrocodone, Fetanyl, Prednisone, Trazadone, etc etc.) but nothing seemed to work. I was losing hope quickly. When Akeela first went through surgery I began extensive research on 'tripawd' dogs and their recovery. I stumbled upon tripwads.com who advertise themselves as a knowledgeable community that help people adapt to tripawd life. I jumped on chat and after learning of my location, they almost instantly recommended Dr. Downing. The clinic was a little far away, but I was running out of options, so I made an appointment for the following Monday. I can honestly say Dr. Downing saved Akeela's life. And my sanity. She is incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to explain everything to me in detail. For the first time I actually had ANSWERS. Her explanation (which the Oncologists could never provide) actually made sense. And she created a solid game plan to get Akeela to the comfort level that she needed to be in. It has now been about 6 weeks since I first met with Dr. Downing. Akeela is an entirely different dog than she was when I first brought her in! She has very limited episodes of panting/pacing (which Dr. Downing is always helping us adjust her medication to work through) and it's been weeks since she's yelped out in pain. We were in absolute torment for almost two weeks, but Dr. Downing is helping me to see and understand that dogs who suffer from Osteosarcoma - and have a difficult time recovering from surgery- can still go on to live happy, pain-free lives. Thank you for saving us!!! <3

They told my wife we should re-home our dog we have had for thirteen years because we didn't spend 2500.00 dollars for oral surgery. I took my dog in 3x for multiple blood tests, I reminded the Doctor she needs her vaccines, three times they "Must have forgotten", was the response I received. Go somewhere else.

My cats absolutely LOVE seeing Dr. Robin. She has such a strong connection with cats and she interacts with them in a way that allows them to feel relaxed and even playful during their exams. Even my older cat who is normally scared of everything is relaxed during her visits. At the previous clinic I was going to she would try her best to hide and yowl, and who knows what it was like for her when they took her to the back to draw blood. Dr. Robin does everything with you in the room so you're able to see how you pet is doing and help reduce their stress. When I first started seeing Dr. Robin one of my cats was having weight issues and was more than a little chunky, and no matter what I tried I could not get his weight down. With Dr. Robins guidance and knowledge about nutrition he now looks as healthy as can be. If she brings up the weight of your pet it's not to put you down as an owner, but rather to address the issue so that your pet can live a happy and healthy life. I've never felt like I've been convinced to buy anything unnecessary or overcharged. The fact of the matter is that pets are expensive no matter what clinic you go to, but at least with the Windsor Veterinary Clinic I can be assured that my fur babies are getting the best possible care they could get.

Dr. Robin does a great job helping my dog with any needs she has. Recently it was recommended that I use a Gentle Leader walking harness for my dog, and I'm glad I listened to her, because it has changed my life! She showed me how to size it and use it so we could start walking right away. I now enjoy walking my dog Koda. She doesn't pull my arm out of the socket anymore, and she's so much happier. Thank you for the help!

This place is nothing shy of incredible! I wish I found her years and years ago. She really cares for animals, that is very clear in how the entire practice is setup. I love the pure honesty and wholesome conversation while I was there. All tests/vaccinations are done in the same room as the owner - no wondering and waiting while your dog is hauled off somewhere else to be stabbed with a needle. I will recommend her to everyone.

Left there feeling pet owner shamed from taking my dog in and the vet telling me that my golden was not only fat but "severely obese". She would not let me get two words in when telling me all about the different things my dog needed to make her loose weight. She then proceeded to give her vaccinations during her exam because she said she was due for them, which she was not because they were all done 3 months ago, but again I couldn't tell her that because she wouldn't let me talk or give me the option. What I thought would be just her annual check up ended in meds, expensive food, and vaccinations all that I had to pay for and it was NOT cheap!! Please don't let the good reviews and kind staff fool you over the phone, they are all about the money. Will not be returning.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Robin and Windsor Vet. I work in the Veterinary industry and know all the vets in Northern Colorado. I’m very knowledgeable when it comes to patient care. Dr. Robin is an absolute expert in pain management and can do things that no other veterinarians in Colorado can do. I drive over an hour to see her. I’ve taken my dog to many veterinarians in Colorado that could not help her. Dr. Robin was able to improve my dogs condition dramatically. Other veterinarians told me my dog won’t be able to walk in a few years because of how bad the x-rays were with her degenerative disease. My dog is 13 and walks every day and is healthy as can be. She has been pain-free for years. Dr. Robin is a veterinarian who truly cares about all her patients and will recommend what’s best for their care. Thanks so much for helping Kona Dr. Robin and providing her with a great quality of life.

Wheee to begin. We moved to Windsor, CO early May of 2015. At the time our babe Mailai was carting around a hearty 90 lbs or so and already 11 years old. We chose Windsor Vetrinary for the convenience and location. 1/2 mike from our home. Little did we know what a friendship would form with Dr. Robin Downing and the staff. Mailai was put on a strict diet, much to my disliking, but within 2 months she was more motivated and mobile. Dr. Downing was able to modify Mailai’s medications and relieve so much of her pain that we were able to have her for 3 plus more years. Yes Mailai recently passed over to that rainbow bridge. It was the hardest pet I’ve had to put down in my life. Dr. Downing made it so unstressful for us. We were able to hold her in our arms and let her go. Her ashes were spread at The Precious Memories Pet Cemetary and I can go to the garden there anytime. If you’re considering a local, loved and trusted veterinarian, Dr. Downing should be your choice. She loves animals and cares for them in a way no other woman can. She treats them as if they all are own.

When we moved to town we were apprehensive about finding a vet that would love and care for our pets like we do but everyone at the Windsor Veterinary Clinic is AMAZING! They all have gone out of their way to make us and our pets feel comfortable. Our dogs love going there and we have received the highest quality medical care every time.

Knowledgeable staff, absolutely the best vet care I've had for my difficult dog in his whole life. Not hurried. Complete plan of care given and explained. Dr Dowling is highly educated but down to earth and will explain things at ones level of understanding. Great attitude with my dog, not afraid of big dogs. Uses positive methods.

Dr. Robin is the best veterinarian I have known and, having had pets since 1979 and having moved many times, I have known many vets. She saved Peanut's life when other vets could not figure out what was wrong with him, though he was clearly dying. She treated Harley and Toby and relieved their pain so they could run and jump and live happy lives. My sister's dog, Milo, was in so much pain that he literally could not even stand up. His previous vet prescribed 2 meds that, together, caused an ulcer. Dr. Robin treated him and now Milo is pain free, ulcer free, happy, and healthy. Dr. Robin is amazing. You will not find a better vet anywhere. I will never go to another vet, even if I were to move away from Windsor.
