My beagle/border collie needed double TPLO surgery and they did a wonderful job. They said she would walk normally again in 4 months but she’s already walking normally after 2. They also refunded us some money because somehow in the end it cost less than their “minimum” quote which we paid ahead. Thank you WVRC for taking care of my fur baby ❤️❤️❤️❤️

I saw an Oncologist and her name was Dr Wirth. She was fantastic. So caring and compassionate she made me and my dog feel very comfortable. My Ollie had a very aggressive form of an oral melanoma that just did not respond to treatment. No way to slow it down. I would very highly recommend her and her team for any of your pet oncology needs.

Last Saturday our super senior bulldog passed away at home. Wanting to make arrangements for cremation, we called WVRC in Waukesha & they had us bring him in right away & connected us with the pet memorial company. They were kind & compassionate while we said our final goodbyes. We were so thankful, because the first place we called said we couldn't bring him on a weekend & asked if we had a chest freezer to put him in until Monday. WVRC will be our go-to from now on!

Recently took my dog here to see Neurologist Dr. Williams. I was very surprised at how cold she seemed. Most vets are rather animated and warm. Snuggling and cooing to the animals and chatty with the owners, you know warm and friendly. Dr. Williams not at all, all business. She didn't seem to appreciate my being a very well informed owner about a disease that we were investigating my dog for, nor did she seem appreciative of the questions I had about the treatment plan options. She wanted me to stop the prednisone my dog was on so that we could get the MRI and lumbar puncture to try to diagnose him but let me know this could end with him requiring emergency care or possibly getting so sick he could die. When I asked her if this was her dog would she risk doing that her response was "yes but i have all these resources here being a neuro vet and chuckled". All in all I was not a fan of her bed side manner or demeanor. Her vet tech Jamie was just down right rude. She seemed annoyed by my calling with additional questions to the point I was apologizing for calling. When we spoke after labs were back and she was giving me new directions for meds and adding meds I was told i should no longer use the tramadol for pain, that I was previously told by Dr. Williams was ok to use, and to use gabapentin. When I told Jamie that Loki did not do well at all on gaba like he could not walk while taking it and it seemed to make him super paranoid and whale eye'd her response was and I quote "well we don't like tramadol for these neuro dogs, so I guess you are going to do whatever you want to do in the end". So I should give my dog a drug that causes him to not be able to walk, that's the better option. I already had an appointment for a second opinion at UW Madison Vet School and had that appointment today. I decided to wait to post my review incase I came to find that maybe I was asking too much and maybe I would have a similar experience with them. NOT IN THE LEAST! The vet we saw at the vet school was amazing, warm, and caring. He sat down with me and discussed all options and taking my dog off prednisone was per him "NOT AN OPTION". I asked many questions, and after each one he smiled and told me I had amazingly great questions, then spent time answering. He discussed all medication options and why for each one...I could go on and on but you get the point. So now I know that it isn't just me being extra, Dr. Williams and Jamie have subpar patient care skills. I have no doubt Dr. Williams is competent she would not have graduated if she wasn't, but their lack of care, rudeness, lack of warmth and empathy leads to lack of confidence in care.

My elderly dog suddenly got sick earlier this year, and my vet referred us to WVRC after running some initial tests. Even though we eventually had to put him down (as it was the most humane decision given his age and prognosis), I was very thankful for the compassionate care we received here. The doctor was very kind, honest, and reassuring. She sat with us a little bit after he passed even though it was very busy. The staff was also very compassionate. Putting my dog down was the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. I loved that old guy more than anything, but WVRC did everything they could to help and make him comfortable in his last hours. I truly appreciated it.

I simply cannot stress enough how unbelievably professional and compassionate the entire staff is at WVRC. From the first phone call until we left the clinic, everyone was absolutely wonderful. We unfortunately had to euthanize our dog due to a number of health conditions that were significantly impacting her quality of life. Because our normal vet was booked for the day and not taking emergencies, we called WVRC and they completely understood our situation. They were caring and compassionate every step of the way and even followed up with a card and very thoughtful gift. I simply cannot thank everyone there enough. Unfortunately I don't recall the doctor's name (it may have been Dr. Gieger), but she was the best! I miss my dog dearly, but I take comfort in the fact that her final moments were peaceful and painless thanks to WVRC.

No one wants to take their fur baby to the ER, but we’ll 100% be back for any future medical emergencies with our pup. They had us wait in the car as a covid precaution, but they were amazing at calling us to keep us informed every step of the way. Every vet tech who worked with us was amazingly compassionate and so good with our shy and skittish rescue dog. I was surprised that the vet took time to call us herself, explain everything in a way that made sense, and make sure that we were comfortable with the treatment plan. It was more affordable than I expected, too! Thanks to WVRC for helping our sweet girl feel better again.

The worst experience I have ever had I waited 4 hour for them to just give my dog ivy fluids and antinusa meds. Before the last hour I got a call that they just looked at my dog NEVER EVER COMING BACK HERE

Last night I had to call to see if I should bring my dog in right away (per the suggestion on their website) for a bloody nose that wouldn’t stop. The woman I spoke with was so kind and literally had the sweetest soothing voice! Luckily I didn’t have to end up taking my dog in, but because of how great their employee was, I will certainly use this vet if an emergency arises in the future. They should do everything they can to make sure that woman stays as an employee, because she is the perfect person to deal with worried pet parents at an emergency vet, where most of the time there are serious situations with their baby. I felt compelled to write this review since these days good customer service like this isn’t easy to find!

Our experience at the WVRC-Waukesha was good. The receptionists and doctor were both very responsive and informative for the situation we had with our pet. Our pet had a foreign body stuck inside her and my husband and I needed answers right away. Due to the abundance of emergency situations that were brought in I was pushed back 3 hours for my appointment, however they were still able to see me that day. When arriving they took her in and took x-rays right away to find the object was lodged inside her intestines and needed to go to another clinic for the proper care. Overall I was able to get answers and move her along to the next location where she got more care and is doing better and back to herself. I would recommend this location to anyone however for a foreign body they aren't able to do everything there at that location so you will be referred to go elsewhere.

At 11:30am Pewaukee Veterinary diagnosed my dog with sudden onset blindness in both eyes. They said his records were being emailed to WVRC, and that the opthamologist working in the ER was expecting him. That the opthamologist did not want him waiting until his next opening on 11/01. At 12:15pm, we checked in at WVRC and waited to be seen. At 4:50pm I got a call saying the opthamologist still hadn't seen him because they were busy with other patients and that if I wanted him seen tonight, I would have to pay a $1000 after hours consultation fee, in addition to the ER visit fee. I am absolutely livid and disgusted that my dog never got the help he needed today, and that WVRC is charging me! Attached is a picture of Charlie who was completely let down by the staff at WVRC today. You should be ashamed of yourselves.

This is the first experience I've had with dog Eye doctors. I have a dog with a very bad eye infection and he's never even been ill. So, I saw my regular vet in St Francis and she did what she could without having detailed knowledge of the eyes. Following this, she suggested a specialist. I called several dog eye doctors and they were all booked, earliest appointment was a month - crazy, but I totally understand. Every emergency may not make sense for my dog's issues, as the likelihood is that he is going to need an eye specialist. Anyway, after call after call I finally came across WVRC Waukesha, they were sympathetic, helpful and understanding. They suggested having their specialist speak to my vet so that they could see if there is anything else they can do; until my dog is able to be seen from their eye doctor. That called happened within hours and before I knew it, my vet made room for my dog to come in and have further tests which the Eye specialist suggested. I also had a call from the clinic to book in an appointment for my dog at their soonest appointment. I was relieved and I cannot thank these guys enough. They understood that my situation was not just a routine eye issue, but more of an emergency. I was worried that if left, my dog could loose his eyesight. He is 14 and has been super healthy all his life, so I knew this was something that needed immediate attention. Thank you for taking the time out to help me today, to provide alternative suggestions and to start the process so that we can get to the root of the problem with my dog & begin treating it appropriately. I am so grateful for your time & your team. Thank you.

Not happy at all with my experience at all!’ My dog had hip dysplasia. They wrapped my dogs bandages totally wrong and unfit for him. Had to take him back in to re-wrap them and they charge me an extra 100$ for it. (Even though it was their fault) On top of that... They also told me to see surgery even though my other vet at UW Madison said that he can heal without surgery. Told my that my dog has severe hip dysplasia which is not true. Very disappointed in this. Seems to me like this clinic runs more on money than actually treating their clients. Be better!! And I definitely recommend UW-Madison Vet!! Way better! And actually care about your long term care and health of your dog !!

I can't say enough good things about the team at WVRC and the quality care they provide for their patients. We have a multi-location dog daycare, boarding, grooming, and training facility. With around 300 dogs a day through our doors, it's imperative to have a vet's office we can trust to be available for medical needs. In over five years of bringing pets to WVRC for a plethora of medical occurrences, they have always done everything within their ability to make sure that the pups receive top-notch care and that communication throughout the process is transparent and compassionate. The way that this office navigated the struggles of Covid, and continues to navigate the struggle of an industry experiencing difficultly keeping up with demand, is impressive. From minor scrapes to more complex medical conditions, I trust WVRC to advise and act in the pet's best interest above all else. Compassionate, well equipped, and highly knowledgeable, what more could you ask for?

WVRC has gone off a cliff for reliability. We are currently battling a major health issue with our dog. We started chasing down the issue there, the ER Vet didn't listen to what we were describing and totally missed a Blasto infection. That led to more health issues where we needed at CT Scan and they were the only available option. Once again more issues where the attending Vet lied on the discharge papers to cover herself, never got a call with the CT results despite being told we would and us making numerous calls, never got a call from the Internal Medicine Doc despite numerous messages.

Woke up at 4am to my poor fur baby with a swollen face, so I called WVRC. Emily was very helpful with doing a quick triage over the phone before we drove to the hospital. When we arrived my dog was taken inside almost immediately, and after about 30 minutes I received a call from the doctor. Dr. Hoff was very thorough at explaining what she thought was the cause, the diagnostics she ran, as well as what she wanted to do for treatment. After about an hour total I left with medication, instructions, and a sleepy dog in tow. Some people may complain about COVID restrictions, wait times, and price, but after working at an animal hospital myself for a year I can say with confidence that this place is doing it right. Keep up the good work WVRC, and thank you!

Keep driving and find another vet. Staff and doctors have horrible communication and take no responsibility for their actions. Manager Ana is unprofessional. They should fire everyone and close the doors

I can't even begin to express my gratitude and how incredibly impressed I am with this facility and staff. I had to wait a few days to write this review, as I lost my beloved cat companion unexpectedly and I'm still grieving and processing this overwhelming loss. However, I also think my Alfie would want me to share and bring some love to those who tirelessly cared for him. My little 7-year-old guy was born with a congenital heart defect (also dx'd at this facility when he was a kitten) and was in excellent health. Then one morning, it was as if a switch went off and he started becoming ill and I rushed him to our vet. After running tests there, I was told to immediately pick him up as he was toxic and heading into kidney failure. With my boy hooked up to an IV, we rushed to Waukesha, an hour away, where they were equipped and ready for us. They immediately took him into care and allowed us to see him before we left that evening. My Alfie was with these caring doctors and techs for the next 24-plus hours, fighting the good fight, but having two major underlying health issues, his body just couldn't take it any longer. What I can say is that during this period, I received regular update calls from the doctors re: his status, care, prescribed action plan, etc. I never "wondered" what was happening or what we were trying to accomplish re: treatment. They even put me on speaker so he could hear my voice. Every physician I spoke with was compassionate, knowledgeable, and cried right along with me as things began to decline. That in itself told me a lot - that Alfie was being loved even in distress. We had hoped things would take a turn for the better with more treatment and we were planning to visit that night. When Alfie began struggling, they immediately called us and told us we should probably get there as soon as possible. As hard as that call and drive was, I still can find some solace that they were there for him, doing the best they could, providing the most high-quality care possible. This is an excellent, top-notch facility. When it was time to say good-bye, they allowed us all the time we needed, the space, empathy and compassion that was above and beyond. Alfie passed peacefully surrounded by his family, special blanket, and love. And he was allowed to cross with the dignity and the respect he deserved. The staff at the desk handling the after-care arrangements was also wonderful as I was utterly gutted and not thinking clearly either. I just owe everyone here such gratitude. While I'm devastated at losing my special companion, I wouldn't have traded one precious second of our time, even though it was so short. And while I would have loved to have him pass at home, it simply wasn't possible and I am so thankful he was loved and cared for, and that we were allowed to bring "home" to my boy in his final moments. I know this is a long post, but I think it is so important, especially these days, to share when things go well and when we are treated with exceptional care, even if the circumstances are difficult and out of our control. I even received a personalized condolence card, some sunflower seed to plant in his memory, and a beautiful poem about the Rainbow Bridge which I plan to include in his memory box. Thank you so much WVRC. All of us, especially Alfie, appreciate all you do.

DERMATOLOGY/ Dr. Mazulis & Ann. These two are incredible. I spent two years seeing different vets trying to get my boys allergies figured out. I have done it all. All the meds, all the different diets, holistic routes, ALL of it. Nothing helped. Gus was bald, itchy and his weight fluctuated because different foods made him sick. There was never any relief for my poor guy. Then Dr. Mazulis came into our lives. Shes incredibly knowledgable, and thorough. Shes compassionate about her patients and great at communicating with their owners. I knew Gus was a special case from the start, but she stuck with us and has completely changed our lives. Gus actually has hair to shed every season, his itch level is minimal even on the worst day, and overall he looks and feels better the he has in his whole life. I can not say enough good things about Dr. Mazulis and Ann, but I can 100% say that we owe them more than we could ever give them.

Very expensive and SO WORTH IT!! This is an instance where you get what you paid for. I took my kitten to a different place that traumatized her (she literally peed on herself and broke nails off after they took her back for blood work) and that place told me my kitten being very sick was my fault and she would likely die. WVRC took my kitten in and cared for her! I got daily updates, they got her to eat and play, and they worked with her for days to restore her health. They assured me her failing kidneys was congenital and not my fault and they prolonged my sweet kitten’s life. If you love your pet and feel like you need to do whatever you can to help them, take them here!! This is the best care you can get and I feel so much better knowing my kitten is well taken care of and getting healthier. The vets clearly care so much for their patients and it absolutely shows. Everything was also explained to me calmly and thoroughly. I asked many questions, some which I’m sure were silly, and they were so patient and understanding. If you can afford it, this is an amazing option

Aug 27th: We waited 1.5 hrs in the car with our sick feverish dog and they never called or came out to check him/do initial vitals intake after we got there (they don't let you in....you wait in the car with your pet). I finally called after an hour and they said we were next and that a tech would be right out. 30 minutes later we leftand took him to another hospital. They never texted called or cared. We will never go back there.of note, there were 6 cars when we got there, and 4 when we left.

I’ve never experienced a level of service as high as with this hospital. I always have doubts when taking my pets to a vet because I never know what goes on behind the scenes. I worry they may yell at my cats or hurt them. Who knows what else. From the very first phone call I placed I knew I was in good hands. Every person I spoke with on the phone was kind and treated me with empathy, kindness and reassurance. They understand pets are family. They never once made me feel bad about calling a million times to check on my cat or ask questions, even after discharge. The doctors had consistent and great communication and explained everything well. The staff sent me pictures of my cat while she was there with cute notes “from” my cat. They let me FaceTime to see her in action. I got to visit one night since she had been there multiple nights, and the tech who assisted me was the sweetest! She was a night tech and would be in the cat ward till 2-3 am. She spoke to my cat so gentle and nice! She played bird noises on the sound machine in the cat ward to keep the cats calm. That in itself is so amazing! They think of things like that. They do everything possible to keep you reassured during a scary time. I don’t think my care is done with them as my cat isn’t back to 100%, so I’ll be going back I’m sure. But in the meantime.. 10 plus stars if I could. ~ Thank you from “Gee” And myself.

On July 11, 2021 we brought our 17.7 year old dog in to be euthanized. Prior to coming in, I called four times in an hour and spoke to three different staff members about being certain we were making the right decision. No one lost their patience with me. When we brought him in, the Vet and staff were so gentle with our pup and treated us with extreme kindness. Forever in our memory will be how peaceful our last moments were with him.

I took my pup Bandit to your clinic on a Sunday never having been there before but needing an emergency vet. He suddenly was suffering and could barely walk unexplainably and we called ahead and said we were coming. Everything thing I thought would happen didn't and everything I thought should happen DID! I expected to call when we arrived and have to sit and wait in the car for 5 to 10 minutes which would have felt like an eternity hearing my pup whimper. Instead I no more than hung up the phone and a tech was in a fast pace walk to my car. My pup was instantly in the hands of people that could care for him or at least give him some pain medication. He was taken care of, we were told what was going on every step. Ultimately we had to make the choice to put him down which was beyond devastating. But you made me feel like I took a human to an emergency room. Then we received your thoughtful card which wasn't two lines of "I'm sorry for your loss, but a heartfelt card, hand written and more than just a line. You truly are a clinic that cares for the animals you treat and the people that love their animals like children. So thankyou, too all of you for the job you do each day and the compassion that you give. Sincerly the Walter family.

Stay away from this place! I live in Waukesha so the location is convenient especially if you have a medical emergency with your pet. 3 times I have had to utilize their services and every single time I have been disappointed. Zero transparency on their pricing and horrible follow-up and customer service. They have you because they offer services not available anywhere else close in proximity. Do yourself a favor and stay away. Update 9/17/21. WVRC has not reached out to me to address my concerns despite their response to my review.

Scheduled noon pick up and discharge took over an hour, there were only 2 other drop offs the whole time we were waiting in the lot, they were able to door dash food from 2 places in the time we were waiting. Told they’d be out to grab the carrier and asked what spot we were in, we let them know, 20min later we called back because no one had come out. Was once again asked what spot we were in. Waited another 20min no one had come out they finally call with discharge instructions and again ask what spot I’m in, to which I let them know what spot I was in and this was the 3rd time letting them know and being told someone would be out to grab my carrier to discharge my pet. But they were able to come out to get their food from door dash.

I was very disappointed when brining my sick dog here. My Frenchie became paralyzed from the waist down over night and we brought him in for an MRI to see what was causing the problem. Right away they gave us the run around on being seen and how it might be days. We were ready to spend $3,000 for imaging but when they called us the asked for $8,000…. They wanted the money for surgery up front even tho we never said we were going to have our dog operated on. We wanted to know that was wrong first. Once the doctor looked him over I called her to get the diagnostic and she was beyond rude to me on the phone and told me to jury up with my questions because she was busy. They did not make me feel at ease here and in the end we ended up removing our dog from there clinic. They still have not refunded us for charges made that we’re not performed on our pet.

Update: July 14 Almost $800 later our vet flushed and drained the abscess and put a tube in for drainage. Update: July 13 My dog is back at our vet with an infection now. Maybe if she had her antibiotics instead of Prednisone this wouldn't have happened. They gave our dog the wrong medication! It was for a different dog. So instead of antibiotics we ended up with Prednisone! "We don't know how that happened" Well you better figure it out and right quick!!! And with the vaccine so readily available why are we still waiting in cars with terrible communication? Thanks for your response but shouldn't a manager be reaching out to me? Maybe telling me what happened and what you did (training) to ensure this doesn't happen again?
