I tried to donate some catfood. But they never answered their phone when I was trying to find out when I could drop off. That was 2 days ago so I assume they are not interested in free pet food

Very helpful for us. We lost our dog and he was well cared for by the team at the humane society until we could come to get him.

My family, and I, had a very nice experience during the adoption process of our new 11mo old puppy. It was easy to view available animals online, and to start the paperwork online. We were able to be introduced to the dog that we were interested in, in a timely manner. The staff is delightful, and compassionate. They also answered all of my questions without me feeling "rushed". The adoption fees are reasonable. I definitely recommend adopting a new addition to your family from here.????

They made the adoption process easy. They were very informative and did a great job answering all our questions. Now we have the best Great Dane ever.

We adopted a wonderful puppy years ago and have nothing but good things to say about this place.

I adopted a dog named Betty from here 6 years ago. Overall it was a horrible experience. I was lied to about many things. I was told 3 different ages for the dog at different times getting in contact with them. When I first got her I got told she was a year old and had no health problems. Taking her home I learned that this was false. She had servere mental health issues and it was clear the previous owner had abused her. I tried to work with her but got nowhere. I tried to get her into classes but got told she was too aggressive to be allowed in any class. I took her to the vet and tried multiple calming medications, none worked. The vet thinks that someone must have beaten her so bad that she now has brain damage from it. Additionally the vet thinks she was older than what they said.Due to her mental health issues I was not able to get her into classes or properly take her to the vet. I got in contact with the humane society and asked for help, they referred me to trainers who also refused to train my dog. They also said they did not know why she was having these problems because she was only 3 months old. WHAT?? This is a different age than what I got told. I got in contact again and they said I could surrender her. I felt so mad and funstated. I wanted help not to surrender her! Years passed and things only got worse, she was behind on shots and began to have other health issues involving her bladder. Additionally due to her brain damage as she got older she got more aggressive and I could not trust her around anyone. I made the tough decision to put her down. I did not know if this was even physically possible because she was so aggressive and would attack anyone that would try to touch her. I called the human society asking for help to put her down. I got told I would have to surrender her and that they would not put her down. I felt so upset and worried they would just give her to a new family who she would attack and it would be even worse if that family had kids. I got told that even if they did put her down that I would not be told and would not be able to be with her. I began to cry on the phone with them and they had no sympathy. I loved the dog deeply and this idea felt so cruel to me. I took her to a private vet to get put down. She had to get triple the amount of dosage in order to put her to sleep. The Ozaukee humane society had no sympathy or care for my situation and never helped me once! I will never adopt from here again.

I got my two cats about a year or so ago from here and would recommend this place to anyone who wants to adopt an animal. The place is very clean and the animals are well taken care of.

They do what they can to save pets but are of course limited by reliance on donations. If you can't take a pet into your home, you can donate a few bucks to help out these critters. A little goes a long way. Also, they have an online "gift shop". Everyone could use a T-shirt.

The staff are very kind, I can tell the animals are well taken care of. It is a very stress-free environment, and it’s almost impossible for the cats to hear dogs barking. I’m planning on volunteering here in the next year. ????????

The people are really nice and so are the animals, the animals also don't really stay there for long until they are adopted which is great for them. Animals are soooo cute too, and you can pet them a bit through the holes in the glass. Love this place.

Staff was super friendly and knowledgeable. Cages are clean and animals seem happy and healthy. Offer a class to kids so they learn how to interact with animals. Good field trip option for a classroom.

Knocked themselves out to facilitate an adoption during a pandemic, while keeping employees and critters safe. Provided descriptive information about animal, provided adequate time for a meet and greet, caregiver and dog are happy, happy, happy. Excellent and timely communications virtually made this union possible. Thank you!!!

On my only day off I went here at 2pm to look at possibly adopting a dog. ( I lost my dog a week ago) and when I buzzed the front door they told me they were closed for the day and I should come back. They were short staffed. No sign on the door just come back. What kind of poorly run shelter dosnt have enough staff????

They were kind in helping us surrender our friends rabbits after she had a stroke and can no longer care for them as she had for almost 30years raising rabbits. The rabbits are friendly and hopeful they will all find great homes thank you ozaukee human society

Beautiful, clean, and inviting building. There was no odors at all upon entering. All the animals looked clean and well cared for. The store was very convenient to get necessities before heading home with a new family member. Staff was very kind, helpful, and supportive. Our adoption counselor offered us alot of knowledge and tips. She seemed as excited for us as we were. I would rescue from there again. We are so in love with our new pet.

The Store is a little more expensive than other places but I have no problem considering the profit is helping out a good cause.
