We are so grateful for Michelle and her special touch with our 14.5 year old terrier. He had gotten too anxious for other groomers and we felt out of options. Michelle and the staff are so friendly and caring with our old dog. We appreciate them making his last few years comfortable.

And now I really have to say shame on you for not taking responsibility for what you have done to my son. Here is a before and after picture for the world to see! Zero stars! This place is a butcher shop! Worst grooming ever. They shaved down my Bichon even though we specifically asked them not to! My dog had a razor cut and rash all over him! Run!!!

They are amazing here. Got my dog in even though they didn't have openings. Ended up being an emergency situation as my dog had pancreatitis..

Michelle is the best groomer! She is so knowledgeable and professional. Her attention to detail is amazing and she is educated on the different dog breeds and their needs. She is kind and friendly! There is no one else I would trust with my Pomsky and his coat. Thank you Michelle!!!

They were extremely responsive to an issue that impacted the health of our rescue as soon as things were brought forth.

First time dog owner and they have been nothing short of amazing. The last two month our dogs have had multiple, bizarre reasons for needing to go in; every time were able to get in right away. They’ve spent time answering our multiple questions, explaining what’s happening and what the next steps are. We see Dr Lembcke and some visits other MDs - every one of them has been great.

*Came here for dog grooming service only*. We recently moved downtown and decided to try this place as it’s much closer than our other groomer. Front desk service was fine and the vet techs were friendly. We have a 70 lb Golden Retriever and I asked the groomer to trim up any areas that were long and to just clean her up in general. Teeth cleaning was not included and was an additional $5. For spending $85 I was expecting a higher quality groom. We have received better quality with cheaper prices outside of the downtown area.

I took my cockapoo here to get groomed because it was the easiest spot to book a last-minute appointment after we had returned to town after 3 months of traveling (w/o access to a groomer). Michelle was amazing! My dog needed some serious TLC after living on a farm, camping, hiking, and swimming throughout our travels. Michelle cleaned him up so well and was so patient with him. My dog gets really anxious whenever he is groomed outside of our home (even just getting nails clipped), but Michelle managed to keep him calm and was able to reach areas that no other groomer has been able to reach. I was also shocked by how cheap it was considering the amount of work she put into it! We will be returning for regular grooming here. I highly recommend for anyone with an anxious pup.

Wonderful care of my dog with surgery. Lots of time taken by the staff pre- op and post-op with me, explaining what will happen and how to care for her afterwards. The doctor was great and my dog healed quickly and without issue - I appreciated the follow up/check-in call from the staff a day or so after surgery. All of the staff is professional, highly competent and clearly dog lovers!

Dr. Lembcke and the City Dog Vet team are knowledgeable, kind and v courteous. They truly provide the highest quality of care for our dog.

My dog recently had two teeth extracted. Dr. Lembcke and team were great throughout the process from diagnosis to post op care. I would highly recommend City Dog Vet.

I saw all the positive reviews on this place and decided to take my new 2 month old puppy to City Dog. They started him on his regular vaccination schedule, and all seemed fine and dandy, but then I asked for a record. I just wanted what I thought was a standard vaccination report. Just something you click a button in your records software and it generates a report. Instead I got a hand typed MS Word doc with bullet points. That wasn't the best, but ok. But then he got persistent diarrhea (they tested and diagnosed Giardia - a parasite) and they prescribed two different antibiotics, etc. He wasn't getting better despite what seemed like a LOT of medication, so I called back and they gave him a probiotic. At the end of each appointment I asked for a record. I just wanted a record of what was done, the tests, some injection (monoclonal antibodies?) and medications, doses, etc. I asked many times in person, and each time they said that it takes time for the vet to enter the notes after the appointment, and they would email me something. They never did. Finally I decided to take him to another vet, and that vet called them to ask for the records. City Dog called me to ask if it was ok to release the records to the new vet. I said YES. But then they never sent them. What kind of vet or honestly any medical practice, human or animal, refuses to send a record of what they've done? How hard is it? Now he's apparently got an autoimmune disorder and extremely low platelets (at 5 months old) and I'm left wondering if any of the mystery treatments that I have *no record of*, might have caused this. Do yourself a favor and find a vet that is willing and able to provide you a clear record of what they've done.

City Dog Vet is an awesome place to take your fur baby to! My chocolate lab adored Dr. Anna and Julia. She diagnosed my labs ears within one visit and she hasn't had an issue since! Thanks guys! <3

I LOVE THIS VET!!! They took such good care of my puppy Nova and don't discriminate against dog breeds. I feel great leaving my dog for the day here and know she will get the best care! :)

Just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you to City Dog Vet!!!! They have been amazing and so accommodating with our puppy who has a broken paw! We have had to take him in several times for issues with his splint and they do a wonderful job each and every time and get him in quickly! Everyone that I have come in contact with are so friendly! Would definitely recommend them!

WOW! I cannot say how much I love City Dog Vet. They take such good care of our dog. The office is smaller so it allows for such a personalized experience each time we are there. Special shout out to Julia and Dr. Lembcke for being so awesome!

The best vets and groomers in Madison!

I'm so happy we found City Dog Vet. The staff has been wonderful in working with us to find solutions for our dog, who historically has been very anxious at the vet, to get the care that she needs. Their patience, care, and support is why we will be returning customers.

Dr.Lembcke and staff are amazing. So precise, thorough, and attentive in listening and providing the best in care, from puppyhood to senior. All of the doctors here are some of the best in Madison. The big open spaces, one way traffic flow, and skilled “dog people” staff make it a perfect place for every dog, including those that traditionally don’t do well in clinics or when they sense other dogs. Community focused, reasonably priced, and of the few locally owned clinics around these days....City Dog Vet is Madison’s place for dogs.

The staff took excellent care of Rowan, my dog, when he had his dental cleaning and a small mass removed.

Today was my first appointment at City Dog Vet & Grooming and we will certainly be repeat customers. Last week I had scheduled my 3-yo golden doodle (Coco) for a grooming session and the onboarding process was simple and electronically efficient. While the customer service was great, the true test was the experience of today's appointment. We were welcomed at the front desk, and our groomer came up to meet my dog. Realizing Coco was nervous, Suzi immediately took steps to become friends and even treated my dog with some liver snacks. I comfortably left Coco in the grooming area and continued with my day. Suzi gave me a call right on time once complete and when Coco came out she was relaxed, happy and excited - I would even say proud of her haircut (see photo pose). This experience exceeded my expectations and previous experiences elsewhere. Most importantly, my wife was thrilled with the results, stating it is the best haircut the dog has received yet.

Overall an amazing place for my pup. The people were extremely helpful and friendly. My dog Kobe had an amazing experience here. Highly recommend!
