I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Pettey and the entire staff at Pleasant Prairie Animal Hospital. Our Goldendoodle, Zola, has had some ongoing health issues the past 6+ months. They have been incredibly responsive to her needs and our questions and concerns, providing specific information about test results and diagnoses, the pros and cons of possible treatment plans, etc. Despite Zola's sometimes "energetic" behavior, every staff member seems happy to see her and has gone above and beyond to put her at ease. It is amazing that she still loves going there despite all that she's been through. As a long-time pet owner who has taken dogs and cats to 3 other clinics over the years, this is by far the best vet experience I have ever had. They are thorough but not excessive in wellness visits. Consistently trustworthy, professional and compassionate.

This was my first visit with my cat and I found Dr. Pettey and his staff to be very professional and caring. The clinic was very clean. Dr. Pettey was wonderful with my cat and I feel very comfortable having him as our new vet.

Dr. Pettey is great. He spent time explaining my dogs luxating patella condition and my options. I have complete faith in him. And the staff is so kind and friendly. I highly recommend this facility.

Dr. Pettey and his staff are the best!!! His staff is super sweet, professional and compassionate and take their time talking with you and explaining the health of your pet(s). They helped us with our aging dog who had bad teeth issues and she mostly acts like a puppy now after much discussion and treatment . We also bring our cats for their annual visits. They don’t push testing or labs and make recommendations unlike other animal hospital/clinics in area that push lots of testing without much discussion and my prior vet clinic was not accommodating whatsoever in an emergency and Pleasant Prairie Animal Hospital got us in right away without it making to seem an inconvenience .. highly highly recommend

My dog Norman had a dental surgery done last Friday and the sweet staff plus Dr. Pettey took great care of him. He left as a happier and very hygienic boy!!!! They even checked in on Norman the next day to see how he was. Great quality care/service. Wouldn’t take my animals anywhere else. In a world full of duds this place is a shining star. 11/10

I like the people here and they seem to me to really care about my dog and his health. They are also not pushy about it but informative on preventive care things. I have taken some advice from them and it worked for my dog, I value their opinion.

We had such a wonderful experience with the Doctor and team!! We needed a last minute ultrasound performed and they were able to get us in the next day. Other places we called would have taken over a week. Everyone there was kind and compassionate. We would definitely recommend them. Thank you for taking such good care of us!!

Recently made the switch from my old vet to this one after our original vet left and they had multiple issues keeping up with clients. I have been so very pleased that I made the switch. They have been wonderful with my dog, who is a very timid senior rescue. They are extremely responsive, warm and make me feel secure about my dog's health. Dr. Pettey always takes the time to go over any questions/concerns I have and the rest of the staff has been wonderful. Thank you for taking such great care of Pepper!

I was online, and I found the Pleasant Prairie Animal Hospital website. The hospital performs timely on-site X-rays, labs, ultrasounds, and surgeries. I was looking for this type of facility. Laura was very sick and losing weight. And most veterinarians in my area were not scheduling appointments. If they did, even physical exams were a two-week wait. I called the Pleasant Prairie Animal Hospital, and I got a next-day visit with Dr. Terry Pettey. I was very fortunate to have found Pleasant Prairie Animal Hospital. The doctor examined Laura, and she needed diagnostic testing. Dr. Pettey moved quickly with immune boosters, labs, ultrasound, and fine-needle aspiration. And most of all, Dr. Pettey performed a highly skillful surgery that saved Laura's life. I want to thank Dr. Pettey for the excellent care he provided. We are very fortunate to have Dr. Pettey. I admire his expertise and his prompt attention that made Laura's outcome a success. I am very grateful. Mary Urban

Brought my cat Bruce here for his annual exam. I was very pleased. Everyone there was nice and gentle with Bruce. Dr. Pettey explained everything clearly and was patient with answering all my questions.

Fist visit wasn’t even a wellness visit. Took us in to get our baby spayed. Most would charge you a arm and a leg for wellness visit. Very friendly staff made you feel welcomed and even part of a family. Made sure we left without any questions. We had a vet precovid that was afraid of dogs at Kenosha vet on 39th do we have been timid to take our dogs other places. Glad we gave them the chance

Dr. Petey and his staff are wonderful! They are knowledgeable, friendly, personal and there when you need them. I rarely get a voice-mail when I call during business hours! They really get to know you and your dog.. We recently transferred our older dog there when she displayed signs of cushings disease, her previous vet recommended an ultrasound and referred us to 3 places out of town that couldn't squeeze us in for a month. ( and very expensive) Two coworkers recommended Dr. Petey and I am so grateful for that! She was seen in days for a reasonable cost and is doing great! We started our new puppy there and she is already loved and cared for like she's family! It's a hard to find quality these days! Thank you for caring Pleasant Prairie Animal Hospital.

After seeing a couple vets in the area I stumbled on Pleasant Prairie Animal Hospital. Dr. Pettey immediately figured out that I was being given wrong information and took action. Turns out my rescue dog had a bullet in his leg! After two years of suffering (Not to mention the money thrown away towards misdiagnoses) my dog made a full recovery and his leg looks and functions beautifully. His life has been changed! He now vets all my animals. The staff is caring and courteous, prompt, and prices are competitive. I have that awesome feeling you get when you find a provider you can trust. Absolutely wonderful staff!! Call because I thought my dog was having issues after having puppies. They offered to see her right away-even though they were about to close. Super friendly super helpful all absolute adore them and will absolutely be going back!!

Dr. Pettey is wonderful, as well as, all the staff at Pleasant Prairie Animal Hospital. They are extremely caring and responsive. I feel my dog is in wonderful hands with the care he is getting. We travel from the northern suburbs of Chicago to come here and it is well worth it. Highly recommend.

The lady I talked to was nice enough but charged me over 50$ for nothing just a couple trazodone that didnt even make my dog sleepy enough for them to look at because he is a rescue and people make him nervous. Now a called to make a new appointment and the vet would not even attempt to help my dog Scooby with his ear infection.

They are honestly the best! The entire staff is kind, caring and will go out of their way to help. My fur baby got sick and the previous vet gave him 2 months! My entire family was heart broken! I did my own research called around to other vets in the area because he needed an ultra sound, learned that’s not something all vets do. Because of COVID I would be waiting at least 3 weeks before he could be seen. Grayslake animal hospital referred Dr. Pettey because he does ultra sounds at his office. Dr. Pettey and the staff were so hopeful and positive. He told us he was going to do everything possible to give us more time with him, but would also be honest. And he has, he did the medical procedure necessary, worked out a plan, got him on a special diet and meds. Parker is doing amazing and it’s been since 5 months since he got sick. We are so grateful and feel so lucky we found them, only wish we had found them sooner! They are truly the best in every way. I recommend them and promise you will not be disappointed.

We took our 13 year old dog to them for his wellness exam and shots. They were very patient with our old guy! The dr and staff are very caring and professional. I would highly recommend them!

5 stars doesn't do this place justice. The entire staff is knowledgeable, caring, fun, and professional. As a first time dog owner, they were right by my side every step of the way with helping me care for my 'wild' pup from day 1. There's only so much a review can say so I don't feel like I'm doing the team justice, but you won't find a better vet than here.

Super disappointed with this vet. I unfortunately will not be going back. I would love to as it's a great location, but I continually have disappointing visits with my dog. When I first brought my puppy in to be checked they mentioned if I'm able to bring in a sample of her poop they can check it. I didn't find out until leaving that it costs me A LOT of money to have poop looked at. Which I think most people can see either worms and or what diarrhea look like. Would have been nice to know up front that it will cost me a ton of money versus them acting like it was some helpful thing they just do. I brought her in again for follow up shots. All I wanted was one shot, but they extended the time the appointment should have taken repeatedly bothering me about "how I should" get her others as well. On top of it, I get charged for an exam at this visit which I didn't ask for. At the end I asked if this was policy that whenever she comes in for shots if she is required to get an exam as well. I was told, "Well it's included". It didn't appear to "be included" as it was a separate charge on my bill.

This Animal Hospital has a fantastic vet, the receptionist and nurses. They are considerate, patient, and take the care of their patients seriously, Through examination they point out things an owner wouldn't necessarily notice and explain, in detail, what to do to take care of any problem.

I would like to call them professionals Veterinarians but really they are my new friends, Pleasant Prairie Animal Hospital is an amazing place to look for help, they know how much we love our Pets family members, they made a connection between my Lovely and special cat COOPER and myself. We took our Boxer Sasha in the late fall after going to the same vet for 8 years and what a difference! We couldn't be any happier. Dr. Petty is a real pro and his staff is the best! Don't hesitate to take your pet to these folks!

Doctor found an uncommon treatment to tackle my puppy's uncommon UTI that antibiotics alone were not getting rid of...and a great friendlyTeam that supports him and loves on your pet. Took time to ask questions, and ask if there was anything else I needed or if I had any questions.
