I have made multiple visits to this clinic for four different pets throughout the years, going back to when it was Lakeshore. I have had an overall wonderful experience here and find the staff -- from the vet techs to the front desk -- all to be very caring and thoughtful. During my most recent experience, I felt the attention and concern was better than ever. They were clearly extremely busy but did not make me feel like I was "just another number". I even received a follow-up call the next week. While I'm not in the shoes of the few people who have left terrible reviews, in reading most of them I think that they were in an emotional place and not taking the time to understand what goes on behind the scenes. First of all, this is an emergency clinic with around-the-clock care. It's expensive. Does it suck to have to empty your wallet when they can't pinpoint what's going on? Yes. But, sadly, sometimes that's what we face when we choose to get a pet. For those who qualify, I highly recommend looking into Care Credit if you cannot pay everything up front. It saved me when my dog was going through cancer. Educate yourself on the state of the veterinary industry today. Not only are they facing a staffing shortage like all businesses, there's an emotional component. These are human beings who love animals, and they don't want to put our pets through (or watch them suffer) any more than we do. Have some compassion for their end. They're interacting with emotional pet owners multiple times per day, every day. None of their locations are that close to where I live, but I choose to drive here because of the service and care I've been given (Glendale especially). The facility itself is wonderful. Rest assured your pet will be well looked after here.

I'm in Milwaukee visiting family for Christmas, and my small dog ate 8-10 chocolate chip cookies while the humans were out for lunch this afternoon. The BluePearl team (vet tech Stephen, specifically) was great! Thank you for checking out Roxie and assuring me that she was okay, especially on a holiday.

These mfs didn’t do ish They just wanted to keep charging us so they can empty our pockets. My dogter broker her leg and instead of giving her a cast to heal her leg they told us to cut it off! They gave us 3 options: 1)Cut her leg off (which was $6,000) 2) Put screws in it (over $6,000) 3) let her leg heal (which they never actually mentioned until I brought it up). We decided to let her heal. All these mfs care about is money. They do not have your pet’s best interest at heart. I asked the lady “so if your child broke their leg would you just cut it off??” Who tf do they think is stupid? Tuh. Not us. Anyway, we made a cast for her (because they refused to give us one), fed her healthy, did doggy therapy with her and not even 8 weeks after she broke her leg she was running, jumping, and playing. Don’t trust all these vets out here. They only care about getting as much money from you as they can.

I cannot thank the caring staff here enough for helping with my cat, Leon! A week ago, I noticed him wheezing and breathing a bit odd... however, he was otherwise normal and acting his usual self. I thought I should probably take him in but of course didn't want to "waste" the money if it was nothing.. I called an emergency vet I know is a bit cheaper than this one and asked if she thought it was worth bringing him in and the woman at the front desk seemed very disinterested and unconcerned. So instead, I called Bluepearl Glendale and they reacted very different... they right away said it was worth bringing in so I was on my way. Is this place expensive..? Yes. It's an emergency vet clinic. But it is worth it in situations like this! Our vet was Dr. O'Connor and she was super kind and caring. She checked Leon and thought it was likely asthma but recommended an x-ray which I knew was expensive but I thought better safe than sorry.. and I'm so glad she recommended it because it ended up being very serious and something that if we had waited might have killed our cat. When I see people complain that the staff here "only want money" and recommend "unnecessary tests"... first of all, people do not go into this field for the money, it's because they love animals. And secondly.. animals are great at hiding illness and sometimes when things seem fine they might be just on the edge of falling seriously ill. Sometimes it is worth it to do an "unnecessary test" because you might discover something serious, and other times you find out that everything is fine. It's just the nature of having a pet and taking care of them. I am so thankful for Dr. O'Connor who was very caring and thorough with Leon. I believe due to her recommendations for him he is going to make a recovery and already is so much more happy and alert than last week. I also was called twice during the week to check on Leon and see how he was which I appreciated. If I ever needed to I would absolutely come back here.. there are cheaper places but the staff here really do care and are very knowledgable!

Took my bunny in after she had some seizures. They took great care of her. Wait times may be longer but they are well worth it! Love how they talk over the treatment options and are well open to giving a biases of pricing. They work very well with their clients and we’re well below your normal pricing for an emergency vet clinic. Will definitely be back for follow up appointments!

They took really good care of my dog Brooklyn after she was hit by a car. They were compassionate, caring, and professional.

Amazing staff, they were really helpful and told me everything right away. ER is open 24/7 and they helped me emotionally, calling me after and checking up on me and my family; after having to put my little boy to sleep. Thank you so much for everything!

To Dr. Sage and his incredible team, Thank you for being attentive to our emergency visit. Thank you for reassuring us. Thank you for taking the time to explain prior procedures, your thoughts and opinions prior to moving forward and listening to our concerns. Thank you for calling us the next day and making sure everything was still okay. The hour plus drive was worth it! I will continue to highly recommend this location and team. With endless gratitude, The Erickson's

Today we had to say goodbye to our dog Ace. We received compassionate care from the moment we arrived. Thank you Molly and the rest of the staff today for making this very difficult experience go more smoothly. Would absolutely recommend!

We can't say enough good things about our experience with the team at BluePearl. We've never been through such a traumatic experience with our baby getting sick, and BluePearl made us feel at ease through the whole 48+ hours of them caring for her. They called regularly with updates, took our calls when we just wanted to check in on her, and were quick/clear about intake, discharge, and after care. I would trust them with any of our babies, and we are so grateful to them for saving our kitties life.

My dog was attacked by another dog. He had a deep wound on his chest. I went there immediately after it happened at 10 AM and they didn't come out until past 10:30 - I had to call them TWICE to come get him (they were doing curbside only due to covid). Then I sat in the parking lot for FOUR HOURS (calling them every hour or so) before they told me to go home and wait there. Every time I called they gave different excuses as to why he hasn't received care - first they wanted to do a blood test then they were short staffed then they wanted to do the blood test (why didn't they do that immediately? Why didn't they do that the first time they said they were??) then they had to wait hours for the blood test to come back safe then they were waiting on a new shift of people coming, then they were waiting on another new shift of people coming. They didn't get to him until around 7 PM - nine hours after he got bit! What the hell?? And since I sat in the parking lot for over FOUR HOURS, I can tell you that it wasn't busy. I was the only one to make contact and they never once called with updates. They constantly referred my male dog as a she. They clipped his nails to the point where his quicks were BLEEDING so he can lick them with his cone on. If they can't even clip nails (which they didn't even need since I clip them at home), they should not be in a veterinary setting. His tube for drainage is laughably too short so that it just leaks everywhere instead of the gauze soaking it up. I finally was allowed to pick up him a little after 10 and I still sat in my car waiting until 10:45. The grand total was over $1,800. I'd sell my house to make sure my dog is safe and healthy but this is absurd. SAVE YOURSELF MONEY AND SAVE YOURSELF THE HEARTACHE AND GO ELSE WHERE. I will update my review when we see my vet to get the tube and sutures out. I can't imagine him ever doing any of these things listed. Update: they called once to NOT ASK HOW MY DOG WAS, but to talk about my review. I asked if anything on it was false and they hung up on me. This would be laughable if my dog wasn't hurting. My vet was horrified with the suture job and said the tube didn't work at all so we had to have it fixed. My vet didn't even charge us for it because she was so angry on our behalf.

Our family cat became gradually ill over the last month. Despite several thousand dollars spent at your facility in testing and supportive care, he did not improve. We still aren't sure what systemic issue caused our pet's demise. Last night we chose to have him euthanized at your facility. It was late evening and we were escorted to a private "garden" with a small patch of grass but no flowers. The wait time for them to bring him out so we could say goodbye felt painfully long. As we sat, the bright lights near the benches lured a plethora of moths that continually dive bombed our heads. The traffic on Silver Spring drive is disturbingly loud. We appreciated the private opportunity for six of our family members to bid farewell. He died quickly. We were told by the doctor if we chose to take him home for burial, our pet's body would be wrapped in a sealed biodegradable bag and then in a "coffin" box. The next morning when our family performed our burial ceremony at home, we opened the box expecting to lower a bag into the ground, but our pet was not bagged. It was very upsetting for our family to unexpectedly view him in a thorough state of rigor mortis. If you aren't putting deceased pets in bags, then please don't tell your clients you are. It was a terrible experience at an already extremely difficult time.

Oncology Referral - We discovered through routine tests that our cat Max has leukemia (not the viral type). We were referred to Lakeshore by our vet. We talked about what type of therapy might be appropriate. An oncology specialist Dr. Reiman patiently explained test she recommended to determine the specific type of leukemia Max has and then what we could do going forward, including all of the potential costs (this included a written estimate of follow-up visits). It turns out he has a chronic type of leukemia that can be managed vs. cured, but with minimal chemo when his numbers get out of whack. I'm very pleased with the experience and feel that Max is in good hands!

John at the front desk and Dr. O'Neill are amazing. We had to bring in our boy due to ingestion of ibuprofen and the lovely people that work at this hospital saved his life. I cannot express the amount of gratitude I am feeling. John is so kind and will talk you through everything and Dr. O'Neill is a superhero and will do everything in her power to save your four-legged family member. That being said, everyone that works here is amazing. Thank you so much Lakeshore Vets!!! The Stockwell family will forever hold you in our hearts. Thank you for saving Romeo.

I was referred to Lakeshore Vet Specialists in Glendale after my vet discovered a tumor on my 13 year old cat's hind leg. After consulting with Dr. Reiman, Bandit had his leg amputated at Lakeshore and recovered there overnight. The tumor was identified as cartilage cancer, but very localized and hopefully cured with the surgery. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the experience. From the front desk staff, to oncologist Dr. Reiman, surgeon Dr Buback, and CVT Lori, the professional and caring service couldn't have been better. Everyone was patient and answered my endless questions. Dr Buback called me before surgery and then afterward with updates and I was so grateful. The ICU vet overnight gave me a caring and thorough update when I called to check in. It was so comforting to know Bandit was safe, even though he must have been scared. We received a folder of discharge instructions when I picked Bandit up, and Lori the CVT went over everything and also called in to check in Bandit a couple days later. She was so knowledgeable. The pain control regime was excellent because Bandit always seemed very comfortable with the pain meds he was prescribed. We are now about two months post op and Bandit is doing excellent. His incision is healing without issue, his pain seems minimal, and he is hopping around all over. We hope to have many more years with Bandit, and have so much gratitude for everyone at Lakeshore for the care they provided.

BEWARE! Forced to pay $125+ “exam” for my cockatiel even though the vet knew nothing about birds and couldn’t even tell us anything that was wrong beyond what we already knew. We even asked before if the vet had experience with aviary and they lied and then proceeded with the exam without telling us the truth, that they don’t see many birds at all. Would NEVER have had them do the “exam” had we known, as we could’ve spent our money elsewhere and actually gotten actual help or advice.

We recently took our dog to Lakeshore Veterinary Specialists in Glendale. They were WONDERFUL from start to finish. We were anxious as to what the outcome might be for our pup, and everyone we came in contact with was so nice, and very informative. Dr. Kayla Krager and Discharge Technician Morgan were phenomenal! They explained all of our options, kept us up to date while our pup was there, and ensured we had no additional questions or concerns in the end. We have taken our pup to other emergency vets in the greater Milwaukee area and this has been the best experience by far! Thank you for being incredibly respectful, kind, and thorough during a stressful and emotional time.

Very impressed by Lauren and Dr. Ebel. The doc was extremely thorough and Lauren was great handling my pup and keeping me updated. Appreciate the work they put in during COVID. Personally, it felt a little bit expensive but they did go over every single cost before bringing my pup in and performing x-rays, etc.

We took our cat here and they got in us quickly, kept us very informed the whole time. He ended up staying for two nights and they had very good communication throughout his stay. I also appreciated that they called to check on him the two days after he was discharged. They gave us a high and low quote for what his hospital stay would cost him, and it ended up coming out on the low end which was good as well.

I had to take both of my cats in for lily poisoning and had such a bad experience. Please note: we’ve been here before and had fine service. We were given straight up wrong information to the point of not knowing what was actually true. It seems they don’t keep notes well in their database so not everyone is ok the same page for their clients. We were coming there almost every day for a week and kept our cats there for 2-3 days respectively and they didn’t see pollen on them so it was on their fur the whole time and they gave us the wrong kidney numbers a couples times. One we didn’t know until I called to have the blood work sent to me. During one of our last visits, they told us to bring one cat back for blood work between 530/6a so we could get in and out and they said they’d be ready for us When we arrived they said “why would you come now during shift change? It’s a bad time to be here.” Overall y’all need to be taking notes on your clients better so that no one else needs to have this added stress of being gaslit and not treated with priority that everyone who is paying for a service deserves.

Terrible.. THE WORST. My dog was in labor for over 24 hours and was turned away because I didn’t have the deposit. They charged me 125 for an “exam” to tell me “oh well your dog can’t push out the puppies” WELL DUH THATS WHY I AM HERE. They could BILL me for the 125 but couldn’t bill me for the procedure to save my dogs life. Instead they sent her back with me and did NOTHING. Luckily I came across MILWAUKEE WALK IN VET and they helped Royelle with NO hesitation!! After her being in labor for over 36 hours she had a healthy puppy and is ok. Thank you guys for NOTHING. DO NOT COME HERE BECAUSE THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMAL ONLY $$$

I was very unimpressed and dissatisfied with the service I received today. We called because of what we thought was an emergent situation, which they agreed with, telling us we would be seen immediately upon arrival. Little did we know, we would still be waiting 4 1/2 hours later. Zero communication about the status of our cat, not knowing what was going on/if he had been seen, and how much longer we’d have to wait. Talked with Dr. Sage at the end of our experience, only to be belittled by him... claiming he told us everything that was going on, which he did not. Never once got an apology from him. Terrible customer service. Please avoid if possible.

I am beyond happy with the way Lakeshore handled our situation. We brought our sweet cat in for emergency services last week and her prognosis was not good so we unexpectedly had to say goodbye to her. Dr. Tom explained everything that was going on with her every step of the way and with thorough detail. I was able to hold my girl as she passed which meant so much to me. The entire staff was kind, caring and informative. They had a social worker call to check on us the next day and I received a beautiful card in the mail today with my cat's paw prints inside. They went above and beyond, we feel so cared for.

We had to put our cat down, and everyone that worked with us was really great. It was hard but they helped a lot. They offered to do everything they thought could help, gave us an estimate and charged us for it. When they realized it was too late before they could do it all though, they told us, and let us come in and see her when she passed, and refunded us on a lot of our deposit.
