Meadow Branch Animal Hospital Winchester, West Virginia

Made an initial visit appointment for two dogs in November 2021. Was running 15 minutes late for our 9am (we also had a 9:30) appointment. Got to the parking lot and they told us they couldn't see us. They rescheduled us for December 6 at 5 and 5:30pm. Three days before the appointment, I received a call from their office that they would not be able to see us on the 6th. Frustrating, but okay, let's reschedule again. Rescheduled for January 6. I called this morning to confirm their appointments. Receptionist tells me that we have been put on their 'unable to service' list because we have 'no-showed' too many times. What?? Because we were 15 minutes late once? Extremely frustrating and feels very unprofessional. Kept us waiting months for an appointment that was never going to happen.

They were wonderful and the place was so clean, even smell clean. They care about pets

After a disastrous experience with our previous vet of 25 years, we moved to Meadow Branch Animal Hospital and will be forever thankful they took us as clients! From the frontline staff to the techs to the doctors they offer nothing but professional and compassionate care for our pets. In July we had to bring one of dogs in on an emergency basis. Dr. Swisher, whom we had not worked with before, saw our dog. Unfortunately, we lost our beloved Piper due to an aggressive lung cancer. She was 14 with multiple other health issues and was one of the most special dogs we have ever had. Dr. Swisher was thoughtful and caring throughout, explaining everything in detail and keeping our girl comfortable until my husband could get there. Last week, after tests and consultations, Dr. Melivilu performed surgery on our dog Harley to remove a large lipoma that was affecting her walking. Our previous vet said it could not be removed. We went into this surgery knowing without a doubt that we were doing the right thing and that our girl was in good hands. Dr. Melivilu talked with us in person and on the phone and provided answers to all of our questions and alleviated our concerns about performing surgery on a 12-year-old dog with a heart murmur. Harley is doing beautifully and walking much better. She is her normal, happy, energetic self. I can tell you this: as long as Dr. Melivilu and Dr. Swisher are in practice, they will have us as clients!

This Vet was wonderful and Sydney loved them. No Winning or shaking like puppy or dog do when they go to the Doctor.The gave him 3 shots no screaming or crying. We were seen by Dr Swisher.

Everyone was kind and helpful. They explained everything.

I recently relocated to the area .. I have a 16 year old shih tzu. I cannot begin to express how wonderful both Doctors and staff have been to me and my dog. In 3 months I have visited this office for a initial visit to establish as a patient and 3 emergencies. I have been Thoroughly impressed with the prompt appointments quality of care& concern for my animal .. I only wish I had them his whole life. They are amazing ! I highly recommend this facility. I got so lucky having them as our Vet. They especially help with the care a senior dog requires. Explain in detail and thoroughly check him out. I have never received this quality of care for my animal before. Plus the facility is clean and modern. I highly recommend !

My 10 week old kitten had severe diarrhea and her condition was failing quickly. I called Meadow Branch Animal Hospital. Huge MISTAKE!!! Emily, office manager, was not helpful or compassionate to my situation. She said there were no appointments and to go elsewhere. I asked to have one of the doctors phone me so I could ask a couple questions. Emily said the doctors would not extend the courtesy of a phone call. I found this outrageous. Especially considering that they tout their community service and being a top rated animal hospital. There is a reason they have 3.5 stars. My cat was fighting to stay alive and they were inconsiderate and insensitive in an emergency situation. You can not depend on them. Be aware of their poor business practices and there insensitive approach to animal health care. I will tell everyone I know that it’s a terrible place.

We have been bringing our dog to Dr. Marcelo Melivilu for years, and he is the best! He is so knowledgable and has such a kind bedside manner. My dog is truly in the best of hands here. He really looks out for her. Plus, his staff is always attentive, kind, and helpful. An amazing doctor AND team!

We recently rescued a doggie and had scheduled him for a routine , to get established appt with Banfield. The first appt they had was over a month out. Our doggie started having some tummy problems. We called and called Banfield to get him in earlier that there was an issue now. No response. We left 4 messages as no one EVER answers the phone. I called Meadow Branch to see about getting him an appt. Best decision we made. They got him in the same day. They were so compassionate and very thorough. I’m glad things played out the way they did. We have found our new vet for our furbaby. Ps… I still can’t get Banfield to answer to cancel my appointment ????????‍♀️

Very expensive. Unnecessary charges just to pad the bill. Prices for meds is about 1 1\2 that of every other vet.

We recently moved to the area. We tried another Vet and hated the experience. Came here today and absolutely loved this place! All the staff we dealt with were professional, kind and friendly. The Dr herself was amazing! She listened to all our concerns and explained everything to us thoroughly, giving us all our options and which course of action she recommended for each one. She was excited to get information from us and to hear our concerns rather than talking down to us and not wanting to listen. This will be our forever Vet as long as we are in this area and we will recommend them to everyone we know!

I switched to this vet after having a poor experience at another vet office that I will remain nameless. The nurses and vets here are extremely professional and knowledgeable. Unfortunately, my kitten Cyclone had FIP and needed to be put down, but the doctors and nurses were so supportive and caring. We even had questions about whether or not his FIP could be transmitted to my other cat, and the doctor stayed past closing hours to do more research. And he was right! Three months post putting him down my cat has shown no symptoms of having FIP. I highly recommend taking your pets here—they’re in good hands!

You can tell they care. Got my Levi in the next day for emergency surgery.

The female doctor was very rude and judgmental not worried about the pet and options to help only worried about money glad I went for a second opinion I received the help needed at a reasonable price and a much better attitude from a vet who knows how to speak to another human and took the time to do so

We have had THE BEST experiences with Meadow Branch Animal Hospital, Dr. Swisher, and staff. Our pug has a ton of medical issues and they have been with us every step of the way with spot-on recommendations for medications and food. They have also provided us excellent pre and post surgical care. They have always treated our dog as one of their own and it has made all the difference in his life and in ours. Thank you Meadow Branch!

The staff were so nice and welcoming, you could tell they care about the animals that visit. Dr. Marcelo was incredibly knowledgeable and took the time to sit down with us and explain exactly what was going on and why he was recommending the treatment that he did. This will be the vet that I bring my animals to from now on.

I am so grateful for the office staff and Dr. Swisher for not only squeezing us in for a consult on short notice, but also seeing us same day when my dogs tumor starting causing him discomfort. They are so kind and compassionate! They gave us hope for comfort and treatment when others had given up and we thought all hope was lost. Thank you all!

The BEST Veterinarian and Hospital I have been. Marcelo is extremely well qualified, great personnel and beautiful clean facility with advanced technology. They took the best care of my german shepherds who required surgeries as well as of my cats

We LOVE Meadow Branch Animal Hospital! From all the team members to Dr. Swisher and Dr. Marcelo, you won’t be disappointed! They truly care about our dogs and listen to our concerns! We’ve been through a lot with this team and they are always there every step of the way supporting our family!

During the COVID pandemic, my pup started getting sick. I called several vets in the area and no one was willing to slide us in for an appt. Thankfully Meadow Branch, slid us in and helped my pup get better. I truly appreciate how you accommodated me and helped my pup.

Excellent as always they are vary personal able and care for the pet well during visits. I recommend them to everyone if your in need of a great veterinarian this is the place to go.
