House Paws Animal Hospital - Round Hill Round Hill, West Virginia

I've been using House Paws for well over 20 years. I would never take my dogs anywhere else! Dr. Knode and her staff are caring and kind and really care about my pets health and well being.

Their support staff is great but Dr. Knode is a piece of work and missed two key tumors and then wanted to charge another $3K for a tumor she didn't remove. Her bedside manner leaves much to be desired and hesitated to answer direct questions. Sadly because of something she missed my girl is on the other side. As an aside, following surgery we had a complication and could not reach them. Their VM did not offer after suggestions but simply said "Our office is closed at this time."

Had to take our Rotten Rottie for surgery on the 9th. Everyone was so caring and professional. Kudos to you all and thanks for all you do. Vader said his time there was pawfectly pawsome!

I had an emergency with one of my chickens. She was egg bound, which is life threatening. House Paws was able to get me in right away. They took her back, x-rayed her, and realized that she needed to see a specialist. The Dr called over and arranged for her to go see the specialist. Thankful, the chicken was saved and House Paws had a hand in diagnosing and arranging treatment.

I arrive at this outstanding place every couple of days since I like the special air that is exist in this place. The crew is very cordial and skilfull. The service is pretty quick. Also, the food you eat is first-rate. I frequent more than once and I was always happy. The pay is decent. I recommend this place to to all.

I would not recommend these folks

We have been taking the cats in our family to House Paws over the years and from the office staff, to the doctors and technicians, they are too notch. We have seen at every visit, their care for our beloved cats, and we are so grateful for this.

Love them and their love for my fur babies. They are amazing, all are loving towards our pups, gentle and caring. As long as we have fur babies and they are around, we will continue to entrust them with caring for our fur babies.

I love House Paws, my cat has been a mobile patient of Dr. Knode's for 10 years and we recommend the practice highly. During this pandemic, although the mobile practice is not operational, I was able to do curbside drop off and ensure my cat could see his normal vet. Great communication and excellent veterinary care! Dr Knode is the "cat whisper"

Great, friendly staff who have been with me every step of the way since I found 3 kittens under my car about a year ago.

Super nice people and place

I want to start by saying I’ve always, until today, had a great experience with this vet and enjoyed how well they took care of my pets. Unfortunately, I called today for an appointment and they couldn’t get my pup in until next week even though it’s a time sensitive matter. I’m confused because before today, if it was an urgent matter; like when my dog got stung by a bee and when my other dog cut her paw they always were kind and accommodating. Today however the person who answered the phone, didn’t make the slightest effort to help my pet, disappointing. I wasn’t even asked what was wrong with my dog. There was no offer to see if I could be worked in at any of the other locations at an earlier date. There was no effort made to try to help my pet.

Most local folks know we only have a few vet options in town, and over the years I have used them all at least once being the owner of both cats and dogs. All my animals are now exclusively seen at House Paws (Round Hill). I have been thoroughly impressed with how they treat the animals and us humans as clients, both in terms of quality of care and the general attitudes and atmosphere in the practice, which is always kind and positive. If you are looking for a great vet office, look no further.

I originally took my dogs to House Paws since it was so close to my house but the doctors and staff are so amazing I would drive hours to see them. When we walk in everyone knows my dogs by name and is so friendly and patient( since one of my pups is shy) when my pup had to have surgery they were so amazing, patient, and kind and did not break the bank. I would and will definitely recommend them to everyone I know!!

I had a nice experience with making an appointment with Dr. Schmid and Maggie. They are a wonderful dynamic team. I’m super excited to bring our fur babies back with these wonderful women.

Could not be any happier with my decision of coming here. Staff is amazing great customer sercice, transparent with pricing so no surprised bill at the end. Work within out budget and the best thing of all my dog only after 1 day of medication, looked like nothing happen. Also almost for got to mention the communication is far superior then others. They emailed me conducting a follow, when i missed there call....this is very good for my lifestyle. Thank you so mich highly recommended, i just moved to round hill December 23rd this place treated us like we were part of the family.

The vet was straight forward about our pets condition. They took very good care of our pet and very considerate of us. I am making house paws our new vet. They also have a few locations.

Very capable staff, nice and professional, very clean.

We had to put our dog down due to cancer. He was a rescue with severe anxiety, and being able to put him down at home meant he was calm and comfortable, which meant the world to us. Dr. Schreir came to our house and was so amazing and patient with us and our dog, giving us the time we needed to say goodbye. I think at one point she was even tearing up a little with us, which says a lot about how big of a heart she has and how much she cares. Her assistant was great too, being quick to get her what she needed and very professional.

Great staff, very kind and reasonable. They did great work on my little Miska.

I like that the vets do house calls

We are New to the Purcellville / Round Hill Area, in one weeks time our normally healthy and active 4 year old dog hurt a paw and ingested a deer bone that caused a dangerous bowel blockage. Dr. Pacheco and staff made time to see us with no previous appointment for both occurrences. They expertly handeled both issues. The Bowel blockage was very painful and needed immediate intervention . Thank you to Round Hill House paws for helping a very important member of our family. Great Place, Great People!!! Our vet left recently, so last time we had an appointment we had a new hire who was condescending and made offense remarks about our dogs appearance. Will not be coming here anymore.

These guys are always trying to upsell & add everything they can to your bill. Went here just for a health certificate & it was about $200!!!

I love love, Dr. Knode, and the staff at House Paws, I so wish I had known about them so much sooner, I've love the mobile part of this practice but the office visits work well to, ❤️❤️❤️

Very nice. Took my pug in because our normal vet was out if town. Friendly staff and had my mutt back on his feet in a couple of days.

The vets are excellent helpful and friendly

Our regular vet was unavailable. Dr. Van Pelt came to the rescue when a stray adopted us as her new family. We quickly learned why she had been dumped. Nugget was expecting a litter of kittens. When the babies were born Dr. Van Pelt came to the house, checked everyone out, gave Mama and babies medicines, and two shots for Mama Nugget because we didn't know anything about her history. Thank you Dr. Van Pelt and your fantastic assistant for everything you have done!

Dr Knode was very kind and knowledgeable. The cost was barely that of an office visit without all the craziness and wait. It was a wonderful experience and I will always recommend and use House Paws.
