I LOVE this vet clinic❣️❣️❣️They are calm, patient, and explain EVERYTHING! I was a vet technician years ago and I’ve found it extremely hard to find a clinic that treated my furry kiddos how they deserve to be treated. I have a 97 pound dog who well to be frank doesn't like going to the vet. They were patient and took their time trying to get him comfortable being there. Other vet clinics have almost seemed scared of him and he could sense that. They have even been amazing with my kittens. I’ve been beyond impressed with this vet clinic. I would HIGHLY recommend Read Mountain Animal Hospital ❤️

This was a seamless, smooth experience. It was perfect from calling that morning for an appointment, getting in that afternoon, the greeting upon arrival and the care and compassion shown to my doggo, to a diagnosis and treatment that was affordable. I have always received this level of service when I take my dogs to see Dr. Bruce. (And I have one pooch who tends to get into mischief and finds herself there a bit more often than the others. I think she actually enjoys going to see everyone there!) Thanks for loving all my critters and treating them as you would your own!

Dr. Bruce was so helpful and informative; he took time to share knowledge. Read Mtn. Veterinary Hospital was able to work us into the schedule the same day when we had problems. Kind, helpful staff.

We adopted Sophie (Sofa Loaf) and Sassy (Sassafras) from Stepping Stones Canine Rescue in Charleston, WV (highly recommended, worth the drive). We were able to get them in to see Dr. Bruce for an initial appointment the day I called. He was kind, caring, compassionate, and answered many of our questions even before we asked. The exams for these ladies were thorough and he answered all of our questions without hesitation. He will not recommend treatment that is not necessary. When I called a few weeks later about Sassy chewing on a pencil and I was worried about the lead, I was assured that unless she was having problems that the lead is actually graphite and clay and just to watch for any problems... no need to come in to been examined unless there was a problem. They are just pups so an annual exam should be sufficient but I will not hesitate to take them in twice a year (or more) when they are older for 'senior' care since I feel comfortable they they are not looking to up-sell on a visit. Jacob is wonderful as the vet tech, Anna remembered who the ladies where when I called with my pencil concerns, and I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND them to anyone who wants a vet and vet staff who puts the wellness of the animal (and pet parents) above all else. UPDATE: Third year check up for these ladies. Still so happy with this practice. 12/2020

We have been with you all for years and have always been pleased. My visit on Dec was the first time I ever felt uncomfortable. When I walked in with my mask on no one at the front desk had on a mask. When they call me to the back room with my dog, the nurse had on one. But when the doctor came in to check my dog, he did not have on a mask. I was in that small little room with him and he had on NO mask and he coughed several times and one time he did not cover his mouth. I tried to stay my 6 feet from him but the room was not big enough for him to check my dog and stay 6ft. I am very disappointed in Read Mountain Animal Hospital for not following procedures and for not helping me feel safe. I just think they need to be a little more considerate of how their clients will feel about the mask situation.

I took my Bearded Dragon here after he had issues with his health, he was a rehab. Very knowledgeable vet and listens well. He and his wife and very polite, very professional, and very respectful of how they treat their clients. They were also very gentle with my baby. I will definitely bring all my scale babies here! Thank you.

Dr. Bruce and all the staff are wonderful. I have taken small animals to him in the past and been very happy. I recently took a pet rat. This was during the Covid-19 pandemic, but we were still welcomed and received excellent care.

I recently moved to Roanoke and needed a vet for my dogs. Finding Read Mountain Veterinary was a true gift. From a simple thing like a nail trim to an ACL injury, they were wonderful. They take the time to get to know your pet and explain the treatment. I couldn’t be more satisfied or grateful to have found them.

Dr.Bruce is an excellent Doctor. He has seen and provided two of my fur babies with the best care. He is very thorough when giving his patients an examination. Dr. Bruce goes above and beyond to make sure you understand what is going on with your fur baby. He takes the time to answer any questions that you may have. Dr. Bruce and his vet team at Read Mountain Animal Hospital provided an exceptional fur-patient quality care to my furbaby. The team exhibited professionalism, knowledge and a caring touch. The team was very responsive to my furbaby's care needs, and were available by phone to answer any questions concerning her health status and progress. As a new fur-patient, we received a thank you card, which added to the caring touch. Additionally, I was not available to receive a call-back from Read Mountain Animal Hospital who was earlier informed that my furbaby was in the care of my emergency contact, and the team proceeded to contact the emergency contact to check on my furbaby's health status. To me, that act was a measure of going above and beyond to make sure my furbaby was responding to the treatment. Dr. Bruce and his team will remain our #1 veterinary hospital of choice!!

The staff is very friendly. Dr. Bruce has been very knowledgeable & compassionate when dealing with all our pets.

I was very impressed with staff at Read Mountain Animal Hospital. They treated my dog Shelby as if she was theirs. Dr. Golla gave her one of the most thorough examinations she has ever had and Dr. Golla explained what she was doing every step of the way. If you want great care for your pet from people who will make you feel like family, this is the place to go. The only thing I am mad about is I didn't find Read Mountain Animal Hospital a long time ago !

Great office. Small family operated vet. Always friendly staff. Only open Monday thru Friday during regular business hours. Located behind the Read Mountain Shell Station on Arrington Lane. Both our dogs there for treatment.

Read Mountain is so much more than an animal hospital! They become part of your pet's family by taking care of them as if they were their own. We have ALWAYS received the upmost care and service. They not only provide the best care and advise but they take time to inform and educate their client. This has greatly helped with making important decisions about the care of our cats and our dog. All this at very reasonable prices.

My three cats are now seniors but still active and healthy under the care of Dr. Bruce and his staff at Read Mountain Animal Hospital. The facility is always clean and bright and professional. I know that Sugar, Spencer and Kellycat will be thoroughly examined, diagnosed and treated by Dr. Bruce, Dr. Nelson, and the staff. I want my teenage cats to live to their 20's, and I trust Read Mountain Animal Hospital to help make that goal a reality.
