We've been taking our 2 dogs to Cave Spring Vet and they are the best! so friendly, great prices, and they all love dogs. they listen to every concern patiently and really go the extra mile to make you and your pet comfortable.

We recently moved to Roaboke from out of state. We've taken our border collie and multiple persian cats here multiple times for regular check ups and emergency services and they are amazing. They will fit you in, you don't wait long, they are attentive and loving and the Vet.. I wish I could remember his name right now but he will talk to you as long as you need to, never makes you feel like he has somewhere else to be. They are amazing and I highly recommend them.

I was referred to CSVC by a very sweet lady on my Nextdoor app. I brought my sweet baby in to have her eyes removed. She was already blind but was in severe pain. Dr. Ballard was so compassionate that she MADE time to do her surgery the next day. Everyone here loves being here and you can tell because they want what is best for your furbabies. The cost was 1/2 of what others wanted and she was treated so well. I can only say if you want your babies to have the best without having to take a loan outgo see these guys they are AWESOME

Our dachshund was sick for about 5 months and Dr. Karras was very persistent to keep trying various treatments; none of which worked. They even took her into the office to observe her all day and consulted with the other Doctors there. I appreciate any time a medical professional is humble enough to say "I just don't know what else to try, let's send her to someone else who might know." He gave me a couple of options and we chose Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Greensboro, NC. After further testing and some tricky biopsies up her snout, the answer was found. However, the possible year-long treatment was very expensive. Again, Cave Spring came through with help finding a more manageable way to get what my dog needed. We have used Cave Spring Veterinary Clinic for over twenty years, seen most of the Vets there, and have always been extremely pleased with the high level of care they have given our pets. Dr. Karras continues to monitor our dog's health with phone calls, emails, and texts. Through the years he has helped me understand problems and concepts my non-medical mind just could not grasp. Thankfully, due to his watchful eye, our smallest family member is improving and doing much better. I would 100% recommend Cave Spring Veterinary Clinic from regular checkups to hard to diagnose problems. They're great!

You won't find a better place to trust your fur baby with. Dr. Hairfield is who we saw and he spent alot of time with us caring and listening to my concerns. Don't hesitate to call them, everyone is so kind.

Great service! They are reliable and love the animals, but over the phone service on multiple occasions I have not had a good experience. The lady was very rude and short with me when I asked to get my dogs records faxed to a daycare facility. She isn’t the representation of the company nor the work though!

Cave Spring Vet has been the vet to our pets for 20 years. The staff is consistently professional and works to meet the varies needs of our pets. The doctors take their time to educate owners and have always offered the best possible care for our dogs. I have often thought that if only human docs treated us the way the Cave Spring Vets treat our pets, how lucky we would be. Cave Spring Vets have met the challenge of Covid in an efficient way, working to continue to care for the animals in a way safe for all. I have seen Cave Spring Vet grow throughout the years while consistently offering high quality care to our pups. I found the vets and staff at Cave Spring Vet to be knowledgeable and cordial, and very willing to take time to explain circumstances regarding my pets.

I tried for 3 days to get my dogs medicine and food and got very little response and run around sand excuses. The office manager Nacy completely fabricated a conversation we supposedly had and was extremely condescending. I asked for her supervisor’s name and contact information numerous times and she just got nastier and never gave it to me. I will be finding a new Veterinary Clinic, 2 years of not being a valued customer is enough for me.

New to Roanoke, I needed a vet for my 4 pets. Not only did I get an appointment the next day but was allowed in with my dog. All of my concerns were addressed and very affordable compared to my former vet. Have already recommended this practice to my sister who has lived here a long time. Highly recommend this vet

As I think back over the thirty-plus (almost 40?) years of care my pets have received at Cave Spring Veterinary Clinic, I can't help but remember the happy times and the sad, and the caring, compassionate treatment they've received there. I've not forgotten Dr. Karras' kind, reassuring words on the phone one night when I was frightened for my dog who was suffering from bone cancer. My granddaughter won't forget that Dr. Edwards got down on the floor and invited her to help with the examination of my new puppy, explaining every step! Now, my fuzzy buddy, Percy, and I have learned that there's another gem in the CSVC crown, Dr. Kraft! Lucky us!

We have used the wonderful people at Cave Spring Vets for many years, perhaps since their doors opened, for our many furry family members. In addition to the attributes listed above they have always been warm and sensitive.

These guys gave fast emergency care to my beloved dog Nikki, and I think the Covid Protocols actually seem to speed things up more. They had my dog indoors and under care in less than 5 mins after my arrival. While she was being cared for they noticed a Heart murmur that I didn't know about. They came out to my car and explained everything in great detail, told me how much things would be, and that put me in a good position to gauge whether or not I could afford to to pursue additional tests and care outside of the original purpose of my visit. I did order further tests, and additional care, and while not super cheap, you do get what you pay for here. We were in and out in under an hour, and my dog definitely didn't hate her visit. I will continue to use this Vet clinic for their efficiency, straightforwardness, and professionality. I am awaiting the results of the test I ordered as I write, and look forward to return trips for all my dogs needs. Hopefully those needs will be just routine, and our tests come back clean, but if they do not, I know who I will be scheduling with. Check em out folks! Will B.

Cave Spring has been so amazing! They’ve seen both of my coonhounds and have been so kind to them. The front desk are always so nice and easy to talk to. It’s obvious everyone who works here loves animals and loves what they do. Won’t take my boys anywhere else!

I noticed a hot spot/wound on my dog, Max, early last Wednesday evening. I’ve never been to the Cave Spring Vet, but have always heard great things about them. My normal vet couldn’t see Max that night. The CSV not only fit Max into their schedule, they made me feel heard, were extremely professional and caring. While fully examining Max, Dr. Julie Ballard also noticed one of Max’s molars needs to be removed due to a cracked tooth; which can lead to a potential abscess forming. Very impressed by her! An office staff called to check on him yesterday and even asked me to send photos (bc I was concerned about the healing of his wound). I called them today (bc it was looking worse) & the front desk staff immediately put Dr. Julie Ballard (who saw him last week) on the phone with me. She calmed my nerves by responding to all of my questions/concerns in a caring and thorough manner. I highly recommend this vet & I will definitely be returning for future needs.
