Our dog had been going here for almost 2 years. He is 14 and has never had any groomer report that he does not do well, in fact he has always been complimented. When we picked him up last time she mentioned that he wouldn't let her trim his front nails. We thought this was odd and he let us feel around on his paws and didn't flinch, but didn't think much about it. Within a couple of hours his eye was bloodshot red. We took him to the emergency vet and they said that it was caused from too much pressure being applied to his head/eye during grooming which basically caused his eye to bruise. There is absolutely not reason too much pressure should have been applied. We starting wondering of the reason he wouldn't let her trim his nails was because he was mad about whatever was done to his head... I have emailed and tried calling but do not get a response. I have not gone to the shop because I won't be able to hold my tongue. After doing some research I found two others that this has happened within the past year and they both said she was rude to them and claimed she was not at fault for what happened to their dog. I do not advise anyone take their dog there unless you want over $200 in pet bills and a groomer who won't take responsibility. Update: After leaving this review and calling again (mentioning I will pursue small claims court) the owner returned my call, stated that she had not received my message, email or mail. I resent the bill and she said she will mail me a check for the emergency visit. I will update once I receive that reimbursement. She also stated that she "didn't want to start anything but she will not groom him anymore"...yeah that was a given!!!

This groomer is repulsive. If you hurt an animal during a groom to the point the animals eyes are almost detached from the optical nerve....you should be shut down and charged! If at any point an animal can not be groomed then you STOP! I AM A GROOMER and you were negligent. I pray they start a petition and you face charges. This has already gone viral. You should be ashamed.

Bark Above rocks!! Brittany grooms my dog Bailey. This is the best place to have your dog groomed at very reasonable price. I am so glad that I found Brittany. She makes sure that your dog gets the best of everything. I would highly recommend Bark Above.

Bear can be a bear to deal with. He doesn't like to be picked up and does everything on his terms. However, when we bring him to A Bark Above Pet Salon, he is completely fine and gets excited to see them!

DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE. I have been taking my dog for months. This last time I took him, they allowed him to get so stressed that he strangled himself with the grooming line which caused 2 ocular hemorrhages in both eyes! They have had zero empathy, offered no apologies, and have refused to pay the over $400 worth of vet bills that we have incurred due to this incident. They said it was the dog's fault for getting stressed! If you care about your pet, this is NOT the place to take them. (Attached pics are from AFTER 2 days on steroids)\ UPDATE: REPLY TO THE OWNER'S RESPONSE: I was aware that Shadow was squirmy, but the owner accepted him anyway. This is consent to say she could handle it, when quite obviously she could not. Every groomer I have spoken to has said that with anxious/squirmy dogs you take LONGER with them so that they have time to calm down. If they don't calm down, you IMMEDIATELY contact the owner of the pet. You do NOT risk injury like this. Not every pet owner can afford 4-8 week grooming sessions. If that was a problem, again, the owner (me) should have been contacted immediately. You don't just strangle the dog and force your way through it. I contacted her twice: The first time I had taken him to the vet and the vet believed it was just a broken blood vessel caused by some stress. I called to let her know on the vet's recommendation out of courtesy. When the blood started to pool and spread through both eyes (VERY SERIOUS) I had to take my dog to the emergency vet. After this, I contacted her requesting to meet up to discuss her practices and, yes, request compensation for the vet bills because this trauma was caused by her groomer's lead and misconduct with the animal. Her response has only strengthened my belief that she doesn't have empathy for the animal and still refuses to apologize. DO NOT TAKE YOUR DOG HERE.

Brought my small Japanese Chin dog for her first grooming over 6 years ago and she was very scared and timid. They did an excellent job and treated her extra special. Would reccomend to anyone. I bring her back on a regular basis. Very affordable and professional.

Owner is rude. I have been taking my dog there for a year and a half and was always pleased with the assistant that works there. The owner however does not care nor listens to instruction on how you’d like your dog cut. I asked for a scissor cut and instead she shaved my dog. When I picked up my dog I expressed my dissatisfaction and she didn’t care. She was unprofessional and rude to me. I would not recommend the owner to groom your dog.

My girl Skylar doesn't like anybody touching her feet and the lady did her feet with no problems out of her now the teeth brushing she wasnt over thrilled but i dont blame her. I'm also a very over protective mother and don't recommend people often but I sure as heck recommend her , she was excellent! And prices are reasonable too!

Nickey takes excellent care of my new Giant Schnauzer puppy, with all his energy and inexperience on the grooming table. She is a sensitive, patient, and incredibly skilled groomer! She also gives my labradoodle a perfect groom, tailored just exactly to my requests. I wouldn't trust any other groomer!
