All of my favorite friends...past and present (yes animals:)) have been taken care of above and beyond by Blue Ridge Veterinary over the years. Some have been very ill and needed hospitalized, the most recent being Rasta Pasta who was not expected to live. We did not give up on her and now Rasta Pasta is a healthy happy and most loved addition to our furry family. Rasta Pasta, Vampire, Niyah and Sheeba were all in to see Dr. Gast a couple days ago and they were so content I thought they wanted to stay. Blue Ridge Veterinary is One of the Best in the Area. A little high monetarily. They are open 24/7 365 days. I trust BRV 100% with my canine and feline family

Since 2020, when I began taking my cats to Blue Ridge, the Clinic has slowly but surely evolved into nothing more than an assembly line staffed by overworked and stressed out doctors whose dismissive attitude is perfectly matched by the incompetence and rudeness of the receptionists. A case in point: last December, after an emergency, my cat was diagnosed with possible kidney disease. At that time, I was instructed to retest my cat 6 months later. On a hunch, I rescheduled a repeat blood panel three weeks later, at which time the findings were consistent with CKD. The doctor dismissively told me to simply switch him to a kidney diet and to return to the clinic at the end of January. 7 days later my cat seemed to deteriorate – I again returned to the clinic (January 10) and this time there were other findings, to include chronic pancreatitis. In addition, we did a urine test and culture. I called the next day (Jan. 11) to get the test results and was told that they were back, and that a doctor would call me back the next morning (Jan. 12). In the evening of Jan. 12, I called after hearing nothing – only after insistence on my part, a doctor finally called me back. The culture test was apparently received on Jan. 14 – I was told informally that my cat had a severe UTI and that a doctor would call me back on Monday (two days later!) with instructions. On Monday, Jan. 17, I called the clinic at 5:45 pm asking if I could talk to the doctor, whose call I was expecting. I was told by one Brittany (or Brittney (?)) that the doctor had been “in and out” and she did not know where she was. When I demanded to speak to a doctor after so many delays because my cat needed a therapy for his UTI, Brittany hung up the phone! I called four more times (all of this is in my phone records) and she hung up every single time. On my fifth attempt, she put me on hold and I finally hung up after 3 minutes. Result: my cat was diagnosed with severe UTI, along with kidney disease and chronic pancreatitis and I have no way of getting my results and giving my cat the care he needs. If this is not negligent, I don’t know what is! I hope Blue Ridge gives much consideration to the negative reviews posted here – as far as I am concerned, they can no longer provide my cats with basic veterinary care, let alone specialized services. They can start with training the receptionists and teach them simply how to smile and be kind, and then perhaps go back to basics when it comes to personalized care for animals, rather than overloading on patients and, in the end, having time for none of them.

The Leesburg Life Center was packed so couldn't get in. Blue Ridge was the next closest. They were very kind and attentive on the phone. Very easy directions to get there using Google maps.

Have had great experiences so far when using Blue Ridge for the emergency vet. Always been happy with how thorough they are, and pricing has been reasonable considering emergency services.

Good luck getting a hold of anybody! I called two different times to make appointments with two different animals and was put on hold for 15 + minutes each time. They might be amazing vets, but we'll never know. They definitely need to hire more desk staff, or the desk staff needs to have a better sense of urgency.

I have been going to BRV since 2005 as they are the preferred sighthound vet! I was very pleased with my Iggys dental yesterday and all the followup care via phone.. recommend BRV 100%

This place is the absolute best veterinary office I've ever been to. We rushed my cat to another emergency vet where he was found to have a rather sizable bladder stone. They then told me that since he wasn't "blocked" they couldn't perform the surgery themselves and recommended I try to find a vet to perform it as soon as possible. I called between 5-8 vets in the surrounding area and not one of them could fit him into their schedule (understandable as all vets are overworked and understaffed as is) but Blue Ridge immediately got my cat on the books for the following day for a consult and the day after that his surgery was complete. I will forever recommend this place to anyone and everyone that will listen. THANK YOU BLUE RIDGE!!

Really good vet that sees most animal types including chickens and turkeys … only issue I have is when you book an appointment it can be several weeks before they can fit you in which is really bad if you have an urgent or acute problem.

Tried for 3 weeks to complete a simple preventive check appointment. They’ve called to move the appointment twice, citing internal booking errors. The last time upping the fees as well. Having to keep asking off work is tough. I’d understand to a point if the staff member who called to rebook again was professional. But acting condescending, superior and out out when asking a patient to keep accommodating isn’t good practice (Britney). Have found a new vet who quickly & professionally booked me and who has all positive reviews. Blue Ridge Yelp reviews are increasingly poor - wish I’d looked there first.

So thankful they were able to get us in. We had tried over 30 place to see our kitten and everyone was to full to take us. Would highly recommend and will definitely go back.

We switched to this vet in 2021 and they are AMAZING. They took care of one of our pups after scheduling an emergency appt and have taken all of our pets there since. They are super busy right now but always helpful, friendly and attentive.

I am so glad that I chose this facility as a daycare for my dog while we were traveling. He really seemed to enjoy it there and he didn't even mind me dropping him off in the mornings when normally he doesn't even want me to go to work without him. The staff were very nice and they never made me feel like my questions and concerns were unwanted. Would definitely recommend for boarding and daycare.

For us it started off as the only emergency vet open but ended with us keeping them as a #1 place to call. Our dog had managed to pop his eye out of its socket. He was with a family member who was watching him for us so we could take a quick little vacation. Once we reached out to them they were very responsive, ready and waiting for our sweet dog to arrive. The were quick to assess the situation and give me a call with a plan and prognoses. We picked up our dog the next day and were greeted by a friendly and knowledgeable staff. We have been very impressed with everyone we have met there and will definitely go there again.

I took my dog there on a Sunday afternoon. I called first and the person I spoke to was so nice and explained everything to me. When we arrived everyone was wonderful. I highly recommend this veterinary practice after our visit there.

Dr.Jones and her tech are AWESOME!! They were very informative and friendly. The one negative was the front desk staff. I unfortunately did not catch the young ladies name but she definitely needs to learn how to greet people. She looked and sounded annoyed. She did not acknowledge me even to say 'Just a moment or I'll be write with you" and I was made to wait with the clip board in hand for close to 8 minutes. I decided to sit back down. I went back up after a few minutes. She could have just taken the clip board from me instead of ignoring me. Front Desk staff should always great people with a smile and a helpful attitude. The are the first people you see and how they great anf treat people is a reflection of the company or person they work for.

IMO, this vet company seems dishonest and is looking to gouge vulnerable pet owners! Just as bad, the vet I had did not seem competent. I had him another time and he mis-diagnosised my last dog's illness. A simple eye test showed her cornea was scratched but is another story. For now, I was worried about my pet so I reluctantly called to see if she could be seen. They asked if I could bring her in at 2:30. I said "yes" and agreed. I was told I could wait with her and if it wasn't an emergency (which it was not), I would need to wait a while. Upon checking out, they DEMANDED an almost $250 emergency fee. They stated I signed an estimate agreeing to such a fee (I had not). They told me the vet informed me of the fee (he did not). The receptionist brought out a second person to browbeat me to pay the fee. At the same time, I heard another pet owner having a similar conversation. It seems they are giving pets an appointment time, then stating it is not an appointment but an emergency visit, and withholding actual appointments. As for the vet care itself and suggested treatment, it was ridiculously poor. My pet has a chronic condition that needs treatment. Instead, the vet wanted her to have a $185 dollar x-ray followed by blood work. He told me the blood work was $75 which turned out to be $96 (not too bad). The blood work would have indicated if there was a secondary problem, beyond her chronic condition, so an x-ray would have been a waste. In fact, the blood work was overkill but I agreed, just in case. I have had similar experiences with this company before which is why I had stopped going to them before. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I have been taking my Great Dane to this place for eight years. In the past year the service has really taken a big downturn. I have been trying for months to get him in for vaccines and they do not have any openings for even the smallest visit. And that is even if you get to someone to actually talk to you. I do not know how many times I have been put on hold just so they can hang up on you. I do not blame the staff here. I really like them overall. But they are overworked in a bad way. Whoever owns this operation, should take the blame. You can't even hire someone to answer your phones? Really? How greedy are you? And hire another vet! This week was the last straw for us. We are in the process of finding a new vet. One that can actually see my dog and one that actually answers the phone!

Blue Ridge found what another vet didn't find- a peach pit stuck in my dogs intestines. Communication was great and recovery was fast! So grateful.

I've had to use their emergency services a couple times over the past few years. Best one around. I know I tried Winchester and Hagerstown emergency vet and will not go back! Blue ridge isn't the cheapest but you are paying for what you get. They are super nice and straight forward with you. Can be a little hard to get a hold of an actual vet on the phone but would still highly recommend. They will sit and explain everything in detail with you and answer your million questions.

I now drive 45 minutes to continue trusting them with my furbabies. They have always been amazingly compassionate and reasonable. I will be forever grateful for how they have helped us send 3 of our loves over the rainbow bridge. Cant say enough about them.

I adopted my dog through a rescue that is set up at this vet. The rescue has been so kind as to pay for her heartworm treatment so I've been in contact with them multiple times to arrange pickup/drop off, side effect management etc for -my- dog that I adopted in June. EVERY time I have called them or dropped my dog off for treatment, not only do they "forget" I am the dog's OWNER despite telling them every time, I then get attitude that I am not allowed to know information because I am the "foster." EACH time I give them my information and tell them to call me because I am her legal owner - they obviously don't. Reception has been rude, dismissive, and cold every single time I have spoken to someone. Not only that, no one will approved the prescription for her heartworm preventative there through Chewy (despite them writing the prescription and saying that they would). The treatment itself seems to be working, so I am grateful for that, but when she became severely ill due to the first shot, they refused to speak to me despite me, once again, telling them who I am. I am thankful that this should be my dog's last heartworm treatment and I can transfer her to a different vet. If you happen to take your animal here, hopefully they treat you better than they have treated me.

I’ve been using their services for several years without issue. However, this most recent interaction was incredibly unprofessional. I knew I had a bill to pay, but the receptionist said they did not have a charge on file. I offered some alternative solutions/scenarios wanting to make sure I didn’t owe money on my account, and the only thing I received in response was “I don’t know what to tell you, I can’t help you” to everything I said. Rude, dismissive, unprofessional - I am glad this place is not my dog’s primary care veterinarian.

I have plenty of Vets where I live in Charles Town, WV, but it is 100% worth the 22 mile ride to Blue Ridge Veterinary Associates. Great people who provide great service when our fur babies need it.
