Always Compassionate Veterinary Care Pittsburgh, West Virginia

I've had several great experiences at this vet as they've helped me take care of both my old and difficult cat as well as my younger, much healthier, cat. Staff is always friendly and the vets are high quality.

We recently moved our dogs over to their care after having a bad experience with another vet service. We could not be happier with the service and level of professionalism from this group. The doctor is always very thorough and explains the conditions with my elder dog in great detail. The name says it all.

This is the only place I have ever been to that when I walk in NOT ONE person ever acknowledges my existence. It is almost comical-but truly just mind blowing.

Wonderful place. Extremely reasonable prices and caring staff. Open late into the evening. Highly recommend.

They are excellent in the way they take care of my little shih tzu, Zoey! Need to speed up the pets discharge! Takes way too long...but great people and doctors!!

This was my first experience with Always Compassionate. They were very gentle & patient with my senior chihuahua. I'm very confident with their care.

I've been taking my dog there for 11 years, but when I needed them most when my dog was in distress I was told to take him to an emergency care facility which was 35 minutes away instead of them letting me bring him in for an evaluation. It would have taken me 5 minutes to get to them. Needless to say my dog died on my lap 10 minutes before I arrived there. Where was the compassion shown to my dog or me as a distraught senior citizen owner? I Will never recommend this facility to anyone.

I have been going here since they opened. I had three dogs when I first started to use this practice. I now have one 15 year old dog, Daisy. Yesterday I had an emergency with Daisy and they were wonderful. They got her in quickly, gave her xrays, bloodwork, a thorough exam and diagnosis and plenty of TLC. Everything was well explained including her bloodwork and medications. This was not the exception, but the rule. With three dogs over these years I have been impressed with the care given to them. Daisy is feeling better today. This practice goes out of their way to make sure that their patients are well cared for.

My husband and I have been bringing our dogs to Always Compassionate Vet Care for 20+ years. We have always been treated with the utmost respect, professionalism, compassion, and friendliness. I would like to commend Dr. Werner and her staff for the outstanding way they handled, and continue to handle, the COVID-19 Pandemic situation. I am thrilled to know that through all of this, our dogs are still be able to get the stellar care they have always received. It has not been an easy task, but everyone at ACVC turned a terrible situation into a "new normal" without missing a beat. I was just there this morning for one of my dog's annual visits. I have never seen a dog so happy to be at the vet! He actually ran "towards" Erica when she came to get him for his appointment. We have brought our dogs to ACVC with some serious issues (i.e., eye issue, porcupine quills, food allergies, field injuries, surgery) and Dr. Werner and her staff have gone over and above to be sure that we are informed to the fullest, and that our dogs have been cared for and loved. Follow-up from the entire staff is tremendous. We have recommended ACVC to friends (and even strangers), and will continue to do so. Please keep doing what you are doing!!!! :)

Went to get surgery for my cat. They originally called me to pick here up 15 minutes before the time she was ready . I explained I lived further away and it was impossible for me to arrive in that time frame with out more time to drive there. So the next “available” time was at 7. When i went to pick her up they said she would be ready at 7PM. Got there 15 minutes early. Parking lot was full , no ones allowed inside. Took 40 minutes to be able to get someone on the phone. Took another 25 minutes after that for someone to bring my receipt out. Around 820 PM I called to see if they were going to bring my cat out. Well they close at 8Pm and turn there phones off at 8. I sat in my car till 845 PM , not able to contact anyone inside and my cat was finally brought out. No explanation was given. My cat just had surgery and no information or update was provided. Worst customer service I ever experienced. I asked to speak to a manager on 3 separate occasions since the appointment and was told each time that one would contact me yet I am still waiting to hear from anyone in charge. I guess the manager has time to respond to all the recent negative reviews but doesn’t have the decency to call there customers.

Awesome staff, wouldn't trust our pets to anyone else. Been a member of the ACV since 2003.

Always Compassionate is an American Animal Hospital Association accredited veterinarian office and it is clearly demonstrated in their practice. Personally, I appreciate that they take their time with each and every client. I don’t mind waiting if they are running behind because I know they will provide the same level of care and compassion to me and my dog. I’ve used their services for routine preventative care, as well as, when my dog was ill. Their professionalism, knowledge and thoroughness is evident at every visit. I appreciate that they don’t cut corners and have I have never had a complaint. I highly recommend Always Compassionate.

We've been taking all 3 of our dogs to Always Compassionate for over a decade now. They always take fantastic care of our animals. We love the doctors and their capabilities. We recently had a health scare with one of our senior dogs and they worked exceptionally hard to make sure her plan of care worked (she's doing much better now thankfully).

Always Compassionate has been wonderful. Since coming to this practice our pets have needed a lot of care, and everyone here has been great with them. Prices are fair, people are kind, and pets are happy and well-cared for. Highly recommend!

Very nice group of people and provide excellent service, only issue is how busy they always are. Sometimes takes a while to get through when you call and always scheduled for a few weeks out.

Dr. Werner is the best, she is honest and very thorough and strives to provide the best care.

I've been so thrilled with all the staff here. We got a new puppy back in April and had A LOT of questions if the first few weeks (and continue to do so). The team at Always Compassionate Vet Care was kind, patient, and thorough in their help.

Very nice staff. I really like Dr. Smith-Miller. She's very nice and doesn't rush or act like you ask stupid questions.

I was Waiting in the car 20 minutes past my appointment time. I Decided to go in and they told me they were running 35-40 more minutes behind my scheduled time. I asked if they were ever going to let me know or were they just going to let me sit in their parking lot for another 40 minutes. Will not be returning to this vet. Would only advise you to use this or service if you have hours of time to waste.

My cat was dying....najir seizures. Called for a humane euthanasia...they told me I have to wait 2 weeks. They were busy. I didnt need a physical examination or shots etc. I needed to end my cats suffering. 2 weeks for a euthanization is cruel to kitty and humans. So much for compassionate yet ALWAYS COMPASSIONATE. HOW ABOUT NOT.

I didn't even go. I had an appointment I thought for my cat. Called to reschedule and they had never made the original appointment even though they gave me the time and date. Unprofessional.
