We needed immediate attention for our dog. It was my first time calling HAH they were able to work us in within 2 hours. Our wait was very short. The staff was great. Unfortunately the news we received for our dog was not what we wanted to here. The Dr.and tech were compassionate and caring for us as well as our fur baby. During a difficult time they were assuring and comforting. Although we no longer need their services I would reccomend this hospital.

So I’ve felt conflicted in leaving this review, but I do feel all experiences need to be seen before you choose any animal hospital. My Goldendoodle was a patient at Hurricane Animal Hospital for almost a year. In the past year, he’s been there many times and the staff has always been great. Very friendly. Very caring and thorough. HOWEVER…my wife found our Goldendoodle unresponsive one Saturday morning. He had just been put on medication from Hurricane Animal Hospital the week prior so I immediately think it’s related to that. I call them DURING NORMAL BUSINESS HOURS to let them know we were on our way with Cooper. They were open, mind you. We were turned away because we didn’t have an appointment. I made it very clear my dog needed immediate medical attention and all I got was, “Sorry you’ll have to take him somewhere else”. Unfortunately our Goldendoodle died later that day in what was determined to be heart failure. Could Hurricane Animal Hospital made a difference, maybe but probably not. But the principle of the matter is what bothers me. When I needed my animal hospital the most, they wanted an appointment to see my dog. Something we’ve come to find out is NOT a philosophy other local animal hospitals share.

First visit for Griffin the dog and Mollie the cat after moving to WV from VA. Chose HAH on referral from my sister and niece. I couldn't have been more pleased! From of the ease of registering them on their website to making an appointment and our first visit, everything was smooth and quick. Dr. Fleming is kind and gentle, as is the rest of the staff I interacted with. They took time to listen and learn about Griff and Mollie's history and daily life. I appreciated that the most. Glad I found a great vet so soon after moving here!

Brought my pet in for testing. Ran a bunch of tests on a Monday. Results were there on Tuesday. Didn’t get results until Thursday after calling multiple times to request them. Waiting days on results after finding out your pet has a tumor seems unacceptable to me. After getting the results I asked to have her file for the visit emailed to me by the “supervisor” I was speaking to. Shockingly…that didn't happen. Had to make another trip to the clinic to get the records. This place just cares about money. Zero compassion. Poorly ran. *Update* After getting my pets records and going to Dr.Kirkpatricks office they looked at what Hurricane Animal Hospital did and found that my pet also had a UTI. Hurricane never mentioned this in our conversation about my pet. Thankfully a vet that was more concerned with treating my pet than they were with billing for tests got us on the right track.

My dog needed medical care last Thursday and even though I have never been to this hospital before they were there to help me! The receptionist was really nice on the phone and helped walked me through things even in my panic. My regular vet did not have the ability to "work us in". Hurricane Animal Hospital was VERY busy but they did everything my pet needed because he was so sick. I spoke with a veterinary technician when I brought my boy in for the admission appointment, but the doctor called me as soon as he was able with an update! Unfortunately I know some clients with scheduled appointments had to wait longer than normal, BUT I am so appreciative there is someone in out area who will go above and beyond when our pets are in true need. When I came Friday to get my pet who had been hospitalized they were taking in a stray from the Animal Shelter who was also in bad shape. Even when there is not an owner to pay the bill they are doing what is best for animals! I know I will never go anywhere else! Thank you! My boy is home and getting better every day!

Really nice people and easy to get a quick appointment. Prices are better than I expected. I do find it strange that I’m not normally allowed to accompany my pet to the back, and I’ve never seen anyone else have to stay in the waiting room while their pets are seen.

Awesome people. They treat the customers and their owners very well.

Hurricane Animal Hospital has taken care of all of my pets throughout the years and my 4 dogs currently! Extremely professional and kind staff that makes sure I understand everything that is happening. Couldn’t recommend them more!

I had an awesome experience! Their team is obviously busy based on how full the parking lot is all the time. BUT, when it was my turn to be in the exam room the veterinarian was complete and spent quality time reviewing everything about my pet! The assistants and nurses were friendly and compassionate to my dog! The reception team was awesome! I was there a while because my dog was pretty sick and needed bloodwork to get to the answers. They were busy but balanced it well with patience and kindness to everyone I saw them interact with. I can't say enough wonderful things. IMPRESSIVE!

I had been taking my dogs to this clinic since 2008, because I felt they cared for my three dogs. Good luck getting someone to help your dog when you have an emergency on a Sunday. The nurse told me that I would be contacted on Monday. Two weeks later and I have heard nothing. So disappointed and now I am angry. I will be taking my two dogs to another clinic where I know I can get help on weekends if needed. Are you kidding me? Contact you? No. Seems to me you just don't want a bad review.

The staff is terrific! They are willing to help out your animals, explain in detail what is going on and how they can help your loved ones. Never have I encountered such beautiful people who will treat you like you are their family and assist you as much as they can.

It's a great thing to have only bad thing I can't get it connected to my truck and when I get in my truck I can't get the voice to tell me turn left turn right

Great place very friendly staff

Very good veterinarian my kitten Homer was pretty sick Dr Sette checked him up and down found out he had a really high fever and infection and gave him a penicillin shot and a few other meds its the next day and my cats already 80% better compared to feeling lifeless the day before!!! I highly recommend this place plus they are friendly and the price isn’t to pricey they will give you an estimate and you only half to take what your pet absolutely needs !! I will be making this a family vet dr for all my fur babies ????

Very personable, professional and so caring. My Lili hasn't been feeling good and they were able to get her back on track. Her spay surgery is scheduled for the 24th of this month and I was told by my RVT that she will have the best surgeon around. Thanks for being you and doing what you do best.

First visit and never even got to meet the vet. In response: the nursing team never communicated to me there were any issues keeping the vet from anything which left me wondering if my dog was okay, if there was an emergency or what was actually happening. I didn't even know the vet's name until it was mentioned in the hospitals response. The vet tech was really sweet and apologized for the wait but that was all I was told. I'm not questioning the exam or the way my dog was treated just the way things were handled.

Awesome with my Kenai, Diagnosed him for Lyme's disease, Kenai loved the staff there, they treated him very well ! We were in and out within 45 mins with his medicine to get better, 4 days on his medicine and he is already doing MUCH better ! Thanks again, Kenai and I appreciate it. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Hurricane animal hospital !!!!!!!!

Our 12yr old feline partner Indiana took ill and we were faced with the tough decision .. feeding tube x weeks, etc. with no real hope for long-term survival and lots of suffering OR to end his life. The staff was wonderful and made it clear that they would support whatever decision we made .. without guilt. In the end we decided to let Indiana go and the staff facilitated that with empthy, kindness, and professionalism. A few days after seeing Indiana of we received a condolance card in the mail with comments of empathy from everyone at Hurricane Animal Hospital .. we were very appreciative of the small but influential gesture and display of love. We will have other amimal partners again after awhile, and you can be assured the only place we intend to take them for care is the Hurricane Animal Hospital

Our precious doggy was attacked by our neighbors much larger dog.. unfortunately our girls spine was severed from the attack and we had to let her go :( The staff and Vet treated our girl and all of us with kindness and compassion as we went thru this horrific situation. We just want to thank You and your staff for everything you guys did to try and save her and for getting her in -immediately.. we will never forget our “Lucky Baby“ and we will never forget how wonderful our doggy and family were treated in such a tough time.. Thank you! We Highly recommend this hospital.. ❤️

Very nice people that really care about the animals no matter what the breed unlike most veterinarians. Top of the line to me and my baby boy doc will not go anywhere else.
