Valley Veterinary Hospital Harrisonburg, West Virginia

We’ve been boarding our dog here for years, at least 7 years or more. We’ve never had a problem here before until today. We were told we would be charged $30/day, which is a fair price. We were contacted this morning and told that the price will now jump to $250/day. Needless to say, we are ending our vacation in Emerald Isle early to try and make it back home to pick our dog up before they close today. We will not be coming back to Valley Vets, which is hard because in the Rockingham County area, Valley Vets was pretty much our only option.

They take good care of my dog and cat. The vet knows what she's doing.

We had to make the heartbreaking decision to take our dog, Bailey, in this morning to be put to sleep. He's been declining for probably the last year and a half, and last night things became clear. Because of the social distancing protocols, we couldn't be with him during this awful time. But Valley Vets was absolutely AMAZING. Stephanie, our favorite vet tech, and Dr. Daly, made sure they came out to our car, and confirmed that we were making the right decision. Today is horrible and heartwrenching, but we will be forever loyal to the vet's office that made a day like today as good and peaceful as it could possibly be. THANK YOU.

Dr. Strickland and Dr. Daly are 2 of the most compassionate and intelligent vets in the area. I am always comfortable and comforted by their handling of my 3 kitties, and truly feel like they make decisions based on what is best for my animals, not their pockets. They always take the time to speak with me about the visit and explain everything in an open and honest manner, including any extra questions I may have. I trust my animals with them explicitly, and will 100% continue to bring my fur babies to them in the future.

I thoroughly enjoy this organization, from the initial phone call, setting up the appointment, a review of my pets needs, and an estimated cost. The staff are pleasant, professional and courteous. The facility is designed for all my pets needs. I highly recommend this organization.

They were super nice and very helpful. I went in for my Leopard Gecko and the vet who took a look at her was friendly and gave me some great advice. Very affordable, too.

Took my dog in for a serious issue she wasb I n there allnor 5 min. And what they said they did over the summery there is nk way they did this place is a joke and still charges me $125 for a 5 min visit! WILL NKT BE TAKIN MY DOG BACK! VERY DISAPPOINTED

Tiffany, Stephanie, and Dr. Strickland are absolutely amazing! I’ve never felt so at home with a vet office, and the staff here treat my family as their own. I cant recommend them enough for anyone in the Harrisonburg area.

Wonderful and caring Vets and staff. I have taken my pets to them for many years and will continue to do so. They are very honest with what the situation is and don't waste your time or money like other places. They have many years of experience and are very knowledgeable.

For anyone with a reptile in the Harrisonburg area, I highly recommend Dr.Daly. He was one of the only Veterinarians I could find that had experience with exotic snakes. He help me treat my Green Tree Python, a particular hard species to care for and was very knowledgeable.

First time customer and was not impressed at all with the standard of service. We checked our dog in for boarding and was underwhelmed by the welcome and check in process. Very low energy and as a first time client, left feeling uneasy. I requested our dog get a bath the day before we picked her up, that was not done. On picking her up and getting her things, an employee informed us that she had peed on her bed the night before. She had washed it and handed us back a sodden 30+lb wet bed in a trash bag. I appreciated them washing it but there must be a better protocol for handing it back. In the end we had to throw out the bed and buy a new one. When we got our dog home, we noticed she had skin missing from the top of her nose. We presumed this was her rubbing it on the bottom of the cage/cubicle. Again not great and maybe something protective could be put on to prevent that from happening. Two days after we picked our dog up, I wrote all this feedback in a private email so maybe they could take on board some constructive feedback. We never received even a reply, never mind an apology. Sadly, I would not recommend Valley Vets to friends and hope this review will be of some use. EDIT: We recently took Maggie back to the vets here and had a much better experience.

Nice staff lovely vet very personal

Absolutely phenomenal vet office. My dog has been going to them since she was 8 weeks old. Outstanding care by doctor Daily. He genuinely cares for my dog and doesn’t try to push expensive options but gives his opinion and positives and negatives with each option. The receptionist Tiffany is outstanding as well and always very welcoming. The vet office from the doctor to the vet tech and the receptions have gone far above and beyond for my dog many times. I have had nothing but good experiences with this vet. I highly recommend them.

Valley Vets was our vets for the last 5 years and we couldn’t have been happier with Dr. Strickland and team. Why we love them - When I got my dog as a puppy, he was really sickly and couldn’t hold down any food. We were in and out of vets all around the area with no luck until we saw Dr. Strickland, who was one of the only doctors that truly listened to what was going on. She predicted he was allergic to his food because the same thing had happened to her dog and instead of charging me for an allergy test, she suggested I switch his food and call back in a week to see how he was doing. Within a month he gained almost 10 pounds and he’s been the healthiest and happiest pup ever since. Highly recommend them! The only reason we switched vets was because we moved away from the area. Also, don’t forget they have student discounts!

Doctor and staff very friendly, patient and efficient

Very unprofessional staff... I've been taking my dog here since I moved to Harrisonburg a couple months ago, and haven't had much of a problem until recently. The staff was always a little short and unprofessional, however lately they have refused my dog the services I was promsed after asking for. Ever since I have had a rude, unprofessional, and intolerable experience at this specific Veterenary hospital. They refused to make up for their receptionist's messup that caused me to need to pay an extra 300$. I was not happy and when I brought it to the attention of the main Vet assistant assigned to that shift, they changed their story at least 3 times as to why I now had to pay even more money for a simple request. This a very unprofessional place of medicine and I would not be surprised if I wasn't the only one to report them to the Board for gross misconduct. I advise everyone and anyone to take your pets to any one of the many other Vets in town and avoid this place at all costs, they will not take care of you. I hope this helps!

They saved my mother's cat from a tumor, he is more energetic than in years. They have provided excellent care for her pets for many over a decade. Very kind vets and thoughtful to your needs. They care deeply about your animals. Very considerate and stress free environment.
