I purchase two pugs/ daschund mix and they are an amazing addition to our home. Their prices were very much affordable for me. Friendly staff and willing to work with you.

This pet store is AMAZING. These people are not only a wealth of information about their animals and products, but they actually really care as well. All of their animals are well-kept and they will not sell you something if they suspect health issues. This is way different than most big chain pet stores. The prices are surprisingly low and they have very unique animals to choose from. My husband and I are novice fish keepers and the 2 employees have been so incredibly helpful in giving us valuable information and guidance on how to properly care for aquarium. We’ve been in this store several times since discovering it and always had a positive experience. Highly recommend!

Always our go to place! Very nice people and always helpful. We have gotten a few of our now family members there and love them. Also go often for feeder rats and crickets. As long as Sylvias’s is open we will continue to go. Thank you for your kindness and our loving pets.! ❤️❤️

These nice people have been our go to pet supply shop for the hard to get health needs for 20 years and a few generations of kittens and dogs. Knowledgeable, friendly caring staff, always with a suggestion or helpful tips.

Great place to get my snake his food but I got to tell you the mice don't live long at all well my snake eats it so that might be on me????????????????

great people very nice and fish look very healthy he guy working their even offered to bring some of his own baby bristlenose plecos in for me so helpful and very nice way better than a chain store they actually help you not just tell you where stuff is and walk away

I purchased 2 bird The woman work and the cashier she said one of them female so when I buy it couple of weeks I figure out both are mail I call them I explained the situation the lady said no problem we can refined for you or i give you credit store I drove 45 minutes to the store and when I arrived she said I can’t refined for you or give you credit store I know something come up when she see me because when she talk to me by phone she thought someone as different person i don’t like to say why .

This place not only had people that paid attention to me, when they came up and asked me if I needed any help and I asked for something specific they didn't just point to it and walked away, this lady actually wanted to know what size animal I was using it on what kind and breed of animal it was she was extremely inquisitive when it came to me and my animal, I could not believe she took all that time just for one medication for one small dog, and after doing what she said and looking at the active ingredients in it, I come to find out the exact same thing was sold at petsmart, for more than half the price higher at PetSmart than it was at this little place called Sylvia's pets, I actually had a brother that owned a pet store named Bob's pets years ago, I knew about Sylvia's but I never really went there because I figured being a small pet store they're going to have to have their prices a little higher just so that they can survive, well I find out this pet store that is a big name and a big store, with the whole chain of pet stores, charges more than half the amount for their medications, I also found a leash that was leather for $8, at PetSmart it was $19! I feel like an idiot now! I should have been going there for years, the next time I need something from a pet store I'm definitely going there and checking them out first, I will admit the other store was larger so if there's something that they have that I can't find at Sylvia's then when I get through going through the pet section at Walmart I will go check out petsmart, but that's only if I can't find it at this place called Sylvia's pets. Don't take my word for it though, do what I did and either get on the phone and ask the prices or ride out there and find out for yourself, after all, think of it this way, the more money you're going to save while you're at sylvia's, is more money you can afford to spend on other things that you have in your life that is almost one of the most important things in your life! Great employee, great place and she know a lot about animals

I purchased a Morkie 8 years ago and we visited again looking for a Cockatiel for my Daughter because her birthday is coming up and I felt so disappointed in what they’ve done with the place 8 years after the last time I was here. The bird cages were very dirty. We went to look at the puppies and we saw a Puppy that looked very depressed. They didn’t have any toys for the poor puppy and the cage was so dirty. The cage for the Finches looked very small and they only had one employee working in the front. The kittens didn’t have enough room to play around in, And the birds look like they haven’t been out of their cage in a long time, which is very unhealthy for them! One of the birds looked so scared that it was shivering! We did not find the bird we were looking for sadly. I wish this place was the same as it used to be. Would not recommend to get pets from here.

Nice local pet store with great and cute animals; however I visited twice within a week or two and they had not restocked the fish food I have been looking for. Overrall it’s a really nice store but the owners and the several workers behind the desk don’t wear masks and didn’t either of the times I visited so beware of that if it’s a concern of yours

This is the BEST pet store in Harrisonburg, by far. The young woman who works there knows SO MUCH and has given me excellent guidance on my aquarium. The fish are the healthiest and best variety around. And their other animals get a lot of attention and seem much better taken care of than the big chain stores.

Decided to visit to check out their grooming rates, but once I saw the lady at the front not wearing a mask, decided to take my business elsewhere. Literally everyone in the store was wearing one, except for the worker. Lost my business forever.

Skylar is an exemplary employee. This was my 3rd visit there in the last 3 weeks. She has gone out-of-her way to help me including overnight dog sitting for me while I had to visit the ER. There was no need for her to go out of her way like that except she is a genuine animal lover and we are well on the way building a friendship. I love the fact that she shows her attitude and spunky nature by sporting. Leprechaun green hair. LOL LOL Thanks Skylar!
