Arrived at 3AM this morning. George, our English setter, had a breathing incident. Called them told them we were on our way. First person we met was Lexi, the receptionist. She greeted us at the door, took us to our room and asked a few …

No vet in my local area would be bothered to see my cat during an emergency situation until one called me back and recommended here. I can say this vet has very friendly staff and the vet we saw was great with my cat and made sure I knew what was going on with her as well and double checked her before we left. They Gave her a medicine to help with the pain and she is feeling much better. Thank you for taking care of my furbaby when no one else would!!

We had a emergency with our pet on 12/31/21. We needed to have him euthanized due to a health issue. He was in pain. We were told they were too busy and COVID restrictions did not allow them to help us. Also, not to call New Years day, that they would be busier. The pet then developed a blood clot and was in a lot of pain. Called our vet, on a holiday, and she took the time to help us. Up to this point, we had a good opinion of the clinic. Not now.

I went there today after my dog couldn’t open his eye. I was in and out within / hours at a reasonable price. Merton is already feeling better!

We came in with our cat (he was in a high-risk condition) cause he had kidney failure and they neglected the severity of his condition having us in a waiting room for an hour and he passed away before being seen

This vet claimed my 7 year old golden retriever had a stroke because his head was tilted one way indicating a stroke. We had a follow up appointment with our vet the next day, turns out they got their left and rights wrong and was wanting to put him down. The vet we have said the head was tilted in the opposite direction indicating vertigo. Now he’s on prednisone and living his best life. DO NOT GO HERE. Friends dog is there due to his dog eating raisins and they claimed THAT WASNT AN EMERGENCY and making him wait 5+ hours! Raisins in dogs is DEADLY. Clearly they don’t know what they are doing. Take the drive to Frederick.

My dog fell ill on a Sunday night. They immediately took her back and knew what was wrong with her in less than 10 mins. Unfortunately, there was nothing we could do and I had to make the hardest decision of my life. Mountain View staff was extremely compassionate. They went over all my wishes for my dog like she was a human. They gave me all the time I needed with her. They even sat with my 5 year old in the lobby so she didn’t have to be in the room for the hard part. I couldnt recommend this place enough. Thank you so much!

Called because my dog is lethargic, gums changing white and unresponsive and was told that they already have enough critical dog patients and if I were to take my dog he would not be “taken care of” DONT GO HERE

I wanted to add to this, as if it's not long enough. The Vet we dealt with below was Dr. Mary Pearce. I realize that good vet care is hard to come by in this area so I didn't want to tarnish all of the staff at Mountain View. Also after some research, I found that she is a recent vet school grad. It doesn't excuse what happened, but it does help explain. Last night my special needs (COPD) miniature pincher, who we adopted 6 weeks ago, was coughing more than usual even with his medication and struggling a bit with deep breaths. We’ve just moved and his new vet couldn’t see him yet. They recommend this terrible place. At first things were going fine, they’d started our info over the phone in route and took us to a room immediately. We understood we’d likely be there for a long time. It almost goes without saying. Once he was triaged, the vet came in and did a quick exam. We explained his COPD and emailed them his health records, which to be fair are extensive. She said she wanted to do an X-ray and would review his records prior to prognosis. We signed off and moved forward. Later on she came into the room with his x-rays and essentially told us he had cancer or pneumonia. I asked if it could maybe be a progression of his COPD and she dismissed me as to say I didn’t know what I was talking about. From there she recommended he get a CT and explained he’d need to be under anesthesia and stay the night. I immediately questioned that as his adoption agency and foster told us his doctors has said he should never be put under. Again, she dismissed my concern. We were then brought a form asking us to accept or deny care and, of course, the bill. I again questioned this path forward, trying to be an advocate for my dog. The vet essentially said that her way was the only way, we needed to accept or deny, and if we denied it he would die because we denied him care. (Mind you, I had told her we lost our other dog 2 months ago from another lung related issue) She was harsh, had no time for us, and quite frankly didn’t care about our dog. Mind you, she’d already used “quality of life” language at this point, which we dog lovers know that means they want to suggest euthanasia. We were devastated but we aren’t vets and so we moved forward. We signed the form accepting the care and paid nearly $2,500. After things were squared away we decided to stay with him until they took him back so I could give his medication to the technician. During this nearly 2 hour wait, my husband got a call from the Vet explaining that she had JUST STARTED READING HIS MEDICAL RECORDS!!!! She said that the x-rays were actually in tune with what the records said and that he should go to a specialist instead of the CT and anesthesia. She also acted like our dog was under their care and that we could come pick him up. WE WERE STILL WITH HIM, THEY HAD NO CLUE! We informed her we were still there (you could tell she was surprised) and that we wanted a refund and to leave. I asked them if it was common to not read provided medical records or listed to pet owners when giving a diagnosis, she ignored me. In short, because this isn’t short, she should not be a vet. She was rude, dismissive, unkind, and sloppy with her work. No creature should be in her hands. My dog could have died last night because she was so sure of herself and yet not informed even though we gave her the information. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

We took our dog there yesterday. This place is amazing and the staff is so friendly. They told us there was a 4 hour wait time so we came prepared. We were in and out within about an hour. Highly recommend this Vet.

Of coarse my doberman would get sick on a weekend. But this place took me in right away. Consoling us every step of the way. They even happily answered my phone calls every 4 hours on the dot. Ultimately he was just to far gone and I had to put my boy down. But they was there for every step of the process. Even had a few hugs in the end. They did the best I could ever ask to do. Never been here before now and with the new ownership I hope they do well. One suggestion I would offer a grieving counseling option with a dedicated person to Console. Besides that you all got it! Thanks again goes out to all staff on or off duty that had a hand in and also the ones that didn't. R.I.P. Rokz 07-01-2016 to 10-06-2021

“24 hour emergency” “sorry can’t see you” lol. How does this even make any sense? It’s a shame; just like broadband service here, when other emergency vets open in this area this place will fall, and it’s a shame they turn away people not happy one bit.

I'm very very grateful for this animal emergency hospital. They have helped my cat and comforted me while I was panicking about her. They were very very helpful and patient with me and my fur baby and I'm forever grateful. If you have have an animal emergency I highly recommend you come to this emergency vet. It is far better than winchester or Frederick animals er

Not an emergency hospital. If your dog is dying or need emergency help you won’t find it here. Was turned away because I didn’t call ahead? Yet there’s a giant emergency sign outside the building. Doesn’t make sense. You won’t find help here

My pup had to be rushed to Mountain View as our only option in the area ☹️ His situation became dire so I rushed home to get my son so he could be there in his final moments and upon returning their only concern was about signing euthanasia paperwork before they would allow my son to see him. My next issue is that when we were finally able to see him he passed on his own terms. I had 2 separate staff members suggest pushing the euthanasia drugs on my pup who was already gone. What veterinarian does this? Why would you try and push a drug to take life that is already gone. They showed zero compassion, empathy, and were a total disappointment of my expectation from a veterinarian service. I will never take another one of my furry children there again. I’ll take my chances and drive to Frederick. They would get a zero if I had that option.

They are worthless! For hours & hours I looked for a place to take my fur baby! Everywhere i was told NO, full capacity and would.refer me to this horrible place.that has 0 empathy for anyone or our fur babies. My baby died in my arms this morning! If you have an emergency DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! YOU ARE BETTER OFF DRIVING FURTHER!

The staff was super helpful, nice, and caring. Of course it always seems like an emergency happens late at night/ early morning. The staff were super busy but made sure that everyone was taken care of. It did take a few hours to see us but we understood that other emergencies were happening. Our Dr was very knowledgeable and did not push anything on us. She gave us options and told us her personal opinion! Thankfully our emergency was more dramatic on our part and my sweet cat is fine! Definitely trust them and would recommend anyone to trust them with your pets!

I begged them several times to see my cat over the past 36 hours and was turned away every time. He wasn't critical enough by their standards. Well, I finally found a vet to see him and thank God. The abscess was as large as his head with a fever of neàrly 105. He was going septic. Thanks for nothing Mountain View!

They saved my dog and even though it came at a high price I’m forever thankful for the knowledge and the care these doctors/staff had for Isabella. Everyone worked with me, updated me, and cleaned her right up(fixed another vets mistakes) and she almost died but they had her back to her Normal self in days.

Everyone is so kind and compassionate. They gave my cat great care and also helped take care of me. Not sure how this is going to turn out long term, but they did everything needed today.

Went here yesterday because our cat wasn't eating and her breathing seemed off. Our vet was extremely knowledgeable. Thanks to her, our girl is still alive. Fluid in her lungs (and found a mass)...and while sad news, we got to bring her home. Forever grateful.

I'm so overly disappointed in this place and absolutely livid that this place has the audacity to call themselves and Animal Emergency Hospital. My mom brought her dog there last night around midnight. There was no one in the lobby or in the parking lot. My mom's dog was vomiting, was lethargic. And shaking. The front desk would not see her. Told her to come back in three to four hours. Well guess what, 45 mins later, my mom's dog is DEAD. What kind of animal hospital is this?! Sadly you're the only 24 hour place around Hagerstown, but that's enough to make sure I tell everyone to drive the extra distance and go elsewhere. This place sickens me to my core. the audacity of telling someone with tears in their eyes and you can see a dog is physically sick and you say come back later. What an absolute disgrace. I am so angry at this staff member andthat this is an acceptable level of service for this institution.

A huge thanks to the vets and staff of MVAE for saving my kitty after a bout with pancreatitis and a kidney infection. Your expertise, professionalism, and compassion are amazing! Thanks for keeping me informed of his condition and letting me visit. I'm so glad your services are available in Hagerstown. God Bless you all for everything you do!

This place is the absolute worst. So far waiting 5 hours for my dog to get taken care of for an injured leg. Took him back for an x-ray, 2 hours later they still hadn’t done the x-ray. We have been given barely any updates as to what’s going on with our dog. Also we’ve only encountered one friendly staff, the rest are rude. Don’t recommend bringing animals here.
