My dad moved down here from Ohio and we had to get his dog's shots up to date. They did the vaccinations, clipped her nails, and did an exam all for $96. This was way way cheaper than other places I had called. They even gave a free one month flea and tick treatment. The staff was super friendly and were able to answer any questions we had. Highly recommend this place.

Nice, Clean, friendly staff and the Vet sat down with me and explained things how anyone could understand. The prices were reasonable and the pup got free samples to help with cost!

They helped me bring my baby home. Our 10yo cat went missing for 3 months. Then one day we got a call from Ashland Animal Clinic, someone brought my boy in. They boarded and cared for him overnight, gave him food, cuddles, and flea medication. I appreciate the care they took for him.

My sister and I took three cats in for routine procedures: two males and a female, for two to be neutered and one to be spayed. One of the two males was fine; the female stopped breathing as soon as they administered anesthesia and had to be resuscitated without surgery; the other male completely perished after the surgery, and was deceased by the time they checked on him. None of them had any preexisting conditions, and were quite young. The youngest male, who survived, is six months old. The female is about eight or nine months old. The oldest male, who passed away, was two and a half years old. I was told that their blood work came back fine even though I requested no blood work to be done at the time when considering their age, and seeing as how only one had a bandage around their arm when returned to us, it isn't making much sense. I was also told that the oldest cat of mine was the third cat on that single day to respond so negatively to anesthesia, and yet he was still treated thusly. The apology offered by the doctor who oversaw the operation was insincere and masked by various excuses that had little to no confidence therein offering any clarity or certainty as to the cause of such drastic complications. While checking my cats in, the woman dealing with our paperwork chose to return a phone call in the middle of the discussion and we had to personally ask another staff member to help us complete the paperwork. The only plus side is that we weren't charged at all for the visit, and they were able to resuscitate the female after she went under. I came home from work to bury my beloved companion, whom I had raised from birth, instead of snuggling with him. It was such an emotionally jarring sight, especially since his cold, stiff tongue was protruding from his mouth. I would not recommend sending any cats in to this facility anytime soon if at all possible.

I've been wanting to write this review for several weeks now but am glad I waited. What this doctor and staff did for our dog Cali is beyond remarkable! Cali decided to jump out of the back seat of a pickup truck with the vehicle barely moving on a home driveway (going after a deer). The window was only half open but when her instinct took over she went. But being a larger dog she didn't make it out clean and fell awkwardly on to her hip shattering her femur (see picture). After calling several vets we found Ashland Animal Clinic and Dr. Pinkston. We immediately emailed him the xrays and after consultation of whether to amputate or try to repair, we chose to operate, which he did later that evening. He had told us that she might be 80% of what she used to be able to do but that was good for us. Fast forward now about 4 1/2 months and it is truly amazing to watch Cali now as she has no limp, runs like she use to and in my opinion is about 99% of what she use to be. Dr. Pinkson did a truly amazing job and we are very thankful. This review wouldn't be complete however without recognizing the entire staff. They were all amazing as we left Cali in their hands for 3 weeks following the surgery. Such good communication from everyone every time we called to inquire how Cali was doing. Thanks so much to all of you and Kelsey...you're a rock star!!

We have been taking our Fur Babies to Doc Pinkston for over 12 years now. We just love him and trust him. His talented Son is also very talented, caring and compassionate. The only Veterinarians we trust and take our much loved dogs to!

They helped us back in March with our senior dog our poor Doc had to be put down when all of the vets in and around Portsmouth wouldn't give us the time of day. We eventually got a pup Bo and decided to take him there. Greatest care ❤ he broke his leg and fit us in. So happy with Ashland Animal Clinic!

I can not say enough good things about this facility. I went through my first big scare with my first dog I have ever owned on my own and like everyone else he is my very best friend. So when he came down ill it really took a toll on me. At first I had taken him to a local animal hospital that I wont mention but I just was put through the ringer never seen a vet they had no answers for me really just left me in the dark and trying to have his xrays blood work ect. Transfered was also a nightmare. I came to ashland animal clinic and was greated each and everytime with a wonderful attitude by staff, the doctor came after surgery and thoroughly went over what his opinion was and what we are doing moving forward. The vet techs I dealt with never made me feel silly for my concerns and were just so comforting to me and believe me I was a mess through this whole thing! If you have concerns about your beloved pets bring them to this wonderful vet clinic, you will not regret it! I included a post surgery pic of my beautiful boy! Also he is happy and healthy getting suture out tomorrow !!

Our dog, Zavalla, had a couple of traumatizing experiences getting his nails trimmed. The staff understood this and went out of their way to help Zavalla feel comfortable. They let me muzzle him and hold him while they administered the 'twilight sleep' sedative. My only regret is that we didn't start taking him to Ashland Animal Clinic when he was a pup! I recommend them to anyone who has a pet. They're the best!
