Wish I could give 0 stars. Overpriced and awful vet

Over charged for a 30 second exchange with the “vet.” He didn’t even have the manners to introduce himself or have a conversation about my concerns. I’ll be taking my pets elsewhere for all of our future needs

I would give 0 stars if I could but since I can’t, the 1 star goes to the Vet techs who honestly were great. The vet on the other hand has absolutely no bedside manner whatsoever. My dog was obviously scared to be at the vet and he did nothing to ease that anxiety and honestly made the whole situation way worse. The only time he spoke to me during the appointment (that started 45 minutes late) was to scold me. He was beyond unprofessional and incredibly rude. He also still charged me for the visit despite not completing the exam. Save your time and money and go elsewhere!

Thank you guys. My Abbie had an issue and I made an appt for the following week, but by the next day it got bad so I called and they got her in the same day. We are very satisfied and recommend Animal Medical for your pets who are not just pets but are your babies.

I took my dog in less than a week ago for a wart he had on his lip and the doctor couldn't diagnose what it was and recommended surgery. After the visit, I called and asked if my dog could still interact with other dogs (since I didn't know if it was contagious or not) and the receptionist said he was fine to. After some research and nowhere am I saying I am an expert, but it looked like the papilloma virus and could be treated with antibiotics (btw if dogs have this virus, it is contagious to other dogs) I called two days later (Friday) and asked if we could try an alternative (antibiotics) to see if that would help, the receptionist said she would give me a call back on Monday. Monday comes, I didn't get a phone call, so I called and Cindy said they can't prescribe it unless my dog was seen again for the same fee of $47... I went to another vet clinic today and they were able to diagnose and give other treatments that didn't cost me $300-400. This place is a liability to my dog and the other dogs he interacted with while having this virus.

2 to 5 day wait for progesterone test that cost $250 ????? If im doing a progesterone test it's because I need to know if my girl is in ovulation and ready to breed. Waiting 5 days for the results is completely counter productive. That's a scam not a service.

To even give one star is far too generous for the service I’ve received. In this case I give them five for being the worst, uncaring clinic. Genuinely forget about keeping personal frustrations out of judgment, because this doctor is best for overcharging for these very reasons. This office has some of the most RELIABLY RUDE employees as for phone reception too! My geriatric dog has severely been bloated and unwell for approximately 5 months. The people working here are often very rude (WILL SHOUT OVER YOU EMPLOYEES) and the doctor is often never available either over the phone or in person. It is impossible to speak to he or she as communication between staff and doctor seems minimal. They do NOT prescribe accurately either as my dog wasn’t even tested for parasites from the get go because “they look for indications from owners,” and give antibiotics? Honestly, if a dog is generally healthy is roughly 3.3 lbs and gains roughly 4-6lbs in the course of a couple weeks something is obviously wrong, along with increased back leg swelling and difficulty breathing it’s not necessarily only gas. They did blood work and can’t even tell you anything regarding results(it’s supposed to remain secret?). Between Cindy, Kathy, Shane and the Doctor they don’t listen to concerns and questions and don’t have answers. Be cautious of what you say to them because they WILL QUOTE you to make sure their lies stay hidden. They charge before asking so BEWARE! By the way, the doctor even will go as far as overcharge you for their frustration. This is certainly the WORST service ever! There are many more things to make this clinic the worst, but to say that even to discuss concerns regarding service is merely impossible as the “temporary manager” will scream and yell over you on the phone. Nonetheless, avoid this place at all costs! (Not to mention I’ve been bringing my dog since November pretty consistently and they still call him a she? This makes me question their record reading and keeping to tell you the truth.) Since this animal medical fiasco office wasn’t able to help, I’ve since taken my dog to Airport West Animal Clinic and in one visit my dog has been able to gain a better quality of life. Do NOT trust these considerably rude and fake professionals for caring service.

At a time when my little dog needed emergency care, suffering from a hernia, trembling in pain, her bowel protruding and swollen under her groin, the staff had received all the faxed records from the Pet Emergency Clinic over the weekend. This clinic when I called them Monday morning was not able to see her until the following Thursday. No effort was made to have her brought in right away. When the doctor saw her, he said she could die from this. The earliest their staff could accept her for surgery was about 30 days out. When I called other clinics, none would see her except for Airport West Animal Clinic, whose caring staff and doctor immediately recognized the emergency, blocked out time to perform emergency surgery, and saved my little girl's life. She already had tissue damage from a strangulated colon, and two sections had to be removed. Our family is very happy to have learned it really makes a difference where you take your animals for care. Animal Medical Services still has a nasty sign on their front door telling you not to walk in without calling first and they won't let you come in with your pet. When I asked them to fax my pets records over to Airport West, the receptionist gruntled and said they can call us for that.

If I could give a negative star, I would give it to this clinic. Never even spoke with the Doctor for taking care of our dog. Overpriced, and fraudulent. Misdiagnosed and made our dog suffer for 5 months. The staff is rude and lies. Yelling over the phone, never ever got a call back from the doctor. Wonder if there is a doctor. Very unprofessional and condescending.

I had been taking my horse here for months. She had a rare medical problem, she had a mummified baby that was making her sick and it couldn’t be removed. After many trips back and forth, lots of meds and the Dr. trying everything he could, my sweet girl passed away. The Dr. was very knowledgeable, kind and very helpful. I’m glad she was in such good hands.

I was extremely pleased with their service! My horse had an encounter with a porcupine and I needed some help getting the quills out. I also was unable to bring him in, so the vet made a home call. I was extremely relieved that they came out on such short notice, and on top of that it was affordable. Highly recommend this vet for equine needs!

Great place took my dog in there for his first shot exam and they took care of him wonderfully. He wasn't scared or in pain from the shots like I have seen before in other animal clinics.

Made a first appointment for a rescue to be neutered, stated I was unsure if he was ready. Dog person, not cat. Went to his appointment, $114 later he had all his shots. Wouldn't neuter. Made an appointment for next nearest opening, 7 am two weeks later. Now he will finally be neutered. Responded in affirmative to next text confirmation. 7 am. For some reason received a call asking to confirm 7 am appointment as well. Weird, why the text to confirm, if an additional phone call is now needed? Confirmed on phone with Kathy, 7 am. Show up 15 minutes early, no response. Wait for 45 minutes with wailing, desperate cat in car. Someone answers, condescendingly tells me our appointment is for 7:30. No apology, doubtfully looks at confirmation text on phone. Given a list of easily six to eight more items to agree to, yes or no, all additional charges. One refers to pulling baby teeth. It is pulling teeth to get my cat neutered here. I get the bottom line, but this is a loved pet, c'mon! Cat has broken through carrier, we aren't allowed to carry him in, need to transfer him to their carrier. He gets loose and runs through traffic across the street. Not ONE WORD uttered by Ashley. She walks inside and gets the next pet's paperwork. My cat is gone, and Ashley is at the next car in under two minutes. No big deal. My cat is still gone, hope they made enough money today. Completely appalled.

We are new clients of Animal Medical Service. We’ve had two appointments so far. I’ve been very pleased with the care of our horse and how I was treated. My questions were listened to and addressed so I could understand. Also, the horse is my granddaughters and Dr spoke directly to her and answered her questions respectfully. That is a huge bonus. I appreciate that in the beginning Dr. Harfst introduced himself and gave a brief biography. The location is easy to get to and I appreciate that there is room to maneuver a truck and trailer. There was a 45 minute wait the first appointment and a 30 minute wait the second appointment which were miserable out in the sun. I’m assuming that an emergency or complication earlier In their schedule made them run late rather than overbooking.

I haven't personally used the services provided here, but WOW are they kind! I helped a lost puppy in an intersection and called them for help, they immediately came to the rescue and puppy was reunited! I'll definitely consider coming here first if my animals need help ????

We took our geriatric dog to be assessed for UTI. Without permission, he was worked up for diabetes, given a shot and take home meds for joint pain, and put on a social diet … over $500. When called to dispute, was chastised for having overweight dog and they took back the $100 food only. Refused to respond to me by telephone. Unprofessional. May take up with small claims as they won’t respond.
