Awful experience!! They are so rude and mean. I am truly afraid for the animals there especially if they treat the animals like they treat the public. I feel they should be investigated.

They do such a great job at making sure that each animal goes to the best possible home. I really appreciate that they check the application, meet with the humans, and take care to really properly introduce the animal to any dogs already in the home. We didn't end up getting the dog today because although I thought she would be a great fit, my dog didn't even want to look at her. They are very knowledgeable about dog behavior and body language and I am super grateful that they take such great care and genuinely care about every animal.

Only gave a 3 star rating since I wasn't aware that you need to make an appointment to see animals. So only seen from the outside. But from what I saw the animals looked great. Area was clean. There were volunteers walking dogs with wagging tails.

We adopted Zola the staff was so patient with us during the 3 weeks of waiting to bring her home. Our Zola was so shy and now after being home with her new mommy's it like she has always been here with us. She loves to go for car rides and she is meeting family members each week. We love her so much and would recommend anyone that wants to adopted a new furry family member to use this shelter.

Went to adopt a pet, and even though my current dog didn't get along with the dog I'd like to adopt the staff was very polite and helpful. A great place with polite, friendly people.

Really a great place. Had to bring a kitten in to them because I couldn't keep him. The staff was great. They take care of all the animals.

SOME of the staff can be very unfriendly. And it seems that THEY pick and choose who gets the animals, not the questionnaire they have you fill out. I do recommend the shelter itself for adopting an animal. The volunteers that showed us the dogs were very nice. It took two trips to pick the perfect pet, as they don't have enough staff to let you spend an exuberate amount of time with one dog. I have to warn you almost every dog needs a 6 foot fence. I understand the reasoning, and I wouldn't say they are wrong but that makes adoption in this apartment forest very hard!! If you plan on adoption make sure you have talked to your landlord and tell them to expect a call, they will call as soon as they get your application approval, make the call, and then they will do a home check. You don't need a perfect house just a safe one for the animal! Have fun picking the perfect pet.... good luck!

I live in Emerald Heights and for a number of months, I've seen this black cat wandering around the area. After leaving a friends house, I saw this cat sunbathing outside, but noticed that it was skin and bones and couldn't even meow if it tried. After caring and holding onto it for a couple days, I brought it by the shelter so it could get the care it obviously needed. After returning home though, the shelter calls me back and says the "owner" came and picked the cat up, saying the "owner" could describe what color it was and that the "owner" had photo's on their phone. BTW, the cat didn't have a collar nor was it tagged in any way. If someone else had turned the cat in, I could have just as easily gone by with pictures on my phone and claim the cat was mine. This shelter has utterly failed in exercising even the most basic level of due diligence to see if the person really was the owner and not just someone else who'd seen the cat in the area. Even if it was their cat, the condition the cat was in should have sent up red-flags and they shouldn't have returned it to the owner. So much for actually caring about animals.
