We were thrilled to get the support we needed and the care our pup needed. All the staff are warm, kind, and knowledgeable.

Dr. Shergill is so gentle and kind, he patiently answers all of our questions, takes his time, and takes exceptional care of our dog, she absolutely loves him! The entire staff are super friendly and helpful. So glad we found this vet clinic.

I cannot say enough about the professionalism and kindness that Dr Shergill embodies. I had to bring my cat Milo in recently for a dental issue that turned into surgery. He was in pain and the staff at VicWest managed to get him in within the week. Dr. Shergill answered all my questions, never made me feel rushed, didn’t make me feel bad for crying, sat with Milo and made sure he wasn’t scared, and ultimately had to act fast when Milo started having a hard time coping with the anesthesia. He still got the bad teeth out and Milo is on the road to recovery. I’ve never been able to *feel*, while in the room, the amount of empathy that a vet holds for animals, but it is beyond clear how much Dr. Shergill cares. The price was more than reasonable for the level of care. I live on my own in Victoria, and this is a stress factor as well. Recommend, recommend, recommend!

Exceptional! We were visiting beautiful Victoria from out of town with our elderly dog in August. He got very sick, and we were turned down by a number of vets who said they were too busy, or we would have had to wait hours to get our dog in. Dr. Shergill was busy, but was kind enough to see our pet after he was done surgery. After a brief wait, he provided excellent service and care. We had known our dog was in the last stages of his life, and Dr. Shergill was very realistic and reasonable in his approach to our pet. Unfortunately, by the next day, he did not recover, and we knew it was time. We brought him in again early to Vic West without an appointment, and the good doctor was kind enough to do what needed to be done. Dr. Shergill was most compassionate and humane throughout the entire process, and I must say that the whole staff at Vic West Pet Hospital treated us and our dog with such kindness and decency. Even a small gesture like having a candle burning in the front office while our beloved pet was being put to sleep was very meaningful to us. Thank-you Dr. Shergill and the staff at Vic West, for making such a difficult experience much more bearable.

We have been very happy with the care of our dog here. They have an app that makes keeping track of on-going care easy, the staff is responsive and kind, and they are good at being attentive but not too over-the-top (aka not too expensive). I would recommend!

The staff are all kind and welcoming and the doctor and technicians are thorough and gentle with every pet exam.

My experience was wonderful. Was happy to accompany my cat inside the clinic and stay with her throughout her appointment. I was unable to do this with my previous vet. I felt everyone was knowledgeable and helpful. Would 100% bring my baby back here and recommend your services to other pet owners. Vet tech and vet were very gentle with my senior girl.

Amazing experience all around. I don't know if I'm pronouncing this right but doctor Shergill was incredible and very professional and helpful. He listens to my concerns number one which I haven't experienced a lot at different vets, they often don't take anything I say seriously. Between us we were able to figure out it's either something blocking his airway or likely feline asthma / bronchitis. He actually helped me figure out what is wrong with my cat without having to pay thousands of dollars. It ended up being an air freshener giving my cat bronchitis/asthma, he didn't go prescribing medications until the x-rays were back which is also a good sign that your vet is honest. (If you're reading this and you have an Air Wick freshmatic or any air freshener that automatically sprays and even says is safe for pet on the bottle, remove it now!) Now that I live in Victoria this vet/doctor will be my go-to point of care for all three of my cats. Very very happy.

Dr. Shergill is incredible! I have had the same vet in Ontario for 20 years and one of the things I was most nervous about when moving to the island was getting a new vet for my dog who has some health issues. Dr. Shergill made us all feel so comfortable and I trusted him immediately. Kaia (my dog) was even relaxed with him and she hates the vet! We already feel at home here and this definitely contributed to that. Thank you.

The staff here are so kind and attentive! I had to suddenly bring my kitten in and they were so accommodating. They got us in same day and when I arrived they were prompt, polite and immediately took him in for an examination. They are so sweet and caring here. I felt like my kitten was in great hands and they were very informative. Highly recommend this vet!

From booking the appointment through to follow up after the appointment, I have had a wonderful experience. My pup is a new patient, and I've never been to clinic that provided such great care. Very pleased, love how affordable services are also. Thank you so much to all the staff.

I was a patient / customer a few years ago when Dr Sergill was the only Doctor in his practice. I was financially distressed above the concern of my guy’s pains, and the risk of the procedure he needed. Dr.Sergill understood me without putting a “pay now” price on it. Now- two years later, my 13year old puppy was in distress and the practice’s front end staff (all young to me at age 70) were a perfect match to his compassion. Fast replies to my phone calls and e-mails: with Covid, I had not hugged anyone for more than a year, the first was Dr Shergill as I wept in his examination room upon learning that my Guy ,Simon, was high risk, and the extent of his surgery could not be known until he was under anesthetic. Bottom line- Simon is still whining for treats, I am still whining about how far he can still walk, but not ever about the bill- it was less than half of another Vet Service I went to only because I lived In James Bay It is no wonder that his clinic has been voted the best in Victoria since he was established. PS The staff were beautiful to me, masks and all.

The whole team at Vic West Pet Hospital are amazing! I brought my cat in for a routine check up and vaccinations, and she put on a show for the ages, mewling and hissing her heart out. Dr Shergill and all of the staff took it in stride and did their best to make Parker feel comfortable during the whole process. I couldn't recommend them enough!

My review goes from a 5 star to a 2. Below was my 5 star rating and today a 2 star rating. I phoned ahead to discuss tick/flea treatment. My furbaby needed to be weighed. The staff would not let me in. Sophie was uncomfortable and resisting the staff. I told the satff during COVID last year the doctor allowed me in to assist with a procedure. The staff asked the doctor and they said, "no". Restrictions have been lifted, I was willing to wear a mask (even though I don't have to) and they wouldn't allow me in 10 feet to weigh my dog. Seems like they are putting the disorder of their office before the needs of my dog and using Covid as an excuse! When I did step in the the staff immediately looked over at the mess all over the floor. I don't care about boxes and stuff all over the place! I just wanted my dog to be weighed with ease and no stress. And if it was covid, that's absolutely rediculous! We are in stage 3! Last year when things were worse with Covid, I was assisting the doctor in the back with Sophie's treatment. You lost my service! Sophie didn't get weighed because I don't like seeing a staff member pulling her by her leash/neck while she is a completely resisting and scared. Sophie didn't get her medication due to such stupidity. Good bye! Below is my 5 star rating from last year: My experience was perfect! During covid the precautions were exceptional. Accepting a new pet during a pandemic was greatly appreciated. The staff and Dr. Shergill were kind, supportive and tended to all of Sophie's needs even though an appointment wasn't made. I really appreciated the doctor giving me a print out of expected expenses before treatment and going over it with me. Thank you for allowing me to come in for the dew claw procedure to comfort Sophie. We will be back! Sophie is happy and feeling better!

Love the personal service and that I don't just feel like another number, which is why I left my last vet. Keep up the great work!

My experience with VWPH is always great. My pup gets great care, and the advice and explanation I get from the vet is top notch. You get what you pay for and I trust these guys.

Charlie went in for a check up and his vaccines updated and his nails trimmed and I got a chip put in him. They were friendly and very good with Charlie

I'm new to the city and this was the only vet I talked to that was willing to see my dog, Bruce, when I suddenly noticed a growth on his neck. The entire staff was amazing and helped Bruce to get back to himself! He did require surgery a mere three days after finding the mass (turned out to be an abscess that was quickly growing), and they were great on walking me through the whole process and stuck to the quote they gave me beforehand. I'd happily recommend the team at Vic West Pet Hospital, they were great to deal with and my Bruce is happy and healthy following emergency treatment with them!

Dr Shargill has the patience of a saint, and never gets cross when I interrupt him, which is often because I am socially awkward. He is also very good with animals, and his support staff are also kind, and patient. He is very honest, and won't upsell you things your pet doesn't need, only what is required for informed diagnosis.

Lukas went for his first visit to Vic West Pet Hospital this week and got a wellness check and a couple of vaccines. He was happy and so was I. Great set up for Covid-19, except I spent a lot of time standing around which is very difficult for me. So if they had told me I could wait in my car that would have been nice. Talked to Dr. Brown, who was very nice.

My experience with Vic West pet hospital was amazing. I couldn't have asked for a better more caring team to help save our family member. When our Cat was deathly sick they were the only vet who would take us in on short notice and saved our fur baby. I am forever grateful for Vic West pet hospital and their team of amazing staff.

Very clean! Very helpful cheerful staff. Made me feel and puppy at ease first time fur baby momma. Puppy listened to his Doctor. Overall very impressed with the care and concern over first time shots. Will be back!

Under the current circumstances, Vic West Pet Hospital is doing an amazing job! The email bookings and reminders are excellent and the staff is always friendly. Although we have only attended this pet hospital during the pandemic, I'm sure the same would be true if the circumstances were different. Keep up the great work :)

I travel from the mainland to go to this clinic! They are the best! Honest, helpful, great staff, caring, understanding. Only one problem! They aren't on the mainland!! But if they were, they'd probably have a lineup 10kms long to get in to see them!

Having moved from AB with an older Westie I was anxious about finding another Doctor as I had such a great relationship with my previous clinic but Dr. Shergill and the staff at Vic West Pet Hospital have filled the bill and after my first visit I have complete confidence in returning when necessary.

Let me add my voice to the chorus of people praising Vic West Pet Hospital. My little puppy was spayed there in May 2020, mid-pandemic. They were accommodating and professional, and her stitches were completely healed within a few days. It was clearly a very clean and careful procedure.
