I have used Dr slocum for over 45 years so glad he has retired and he will be missed. there was no one better. BUT the new Well haven Hezel Dell Office. is the worst, least caring, Vet Office. We were in a roll over car accident and our Dog went missing for 2 weeks. it the forest of Clatsop Co. We recovered her 1/12/22. Called Hazel Dell Wellhaven the morning of the 13th. Left a Voice mail. That we needed a wellness Check on LuLu. The return call was What is yyour name? I left that in the VM. Pets Name? again left in the VM. WE don,t do walk in's. I explained about the accident and found dog again. Her reply was we can see her on the 19th Of feb. Oh and we don't have her records. We may be able to order them. I hope Dr Slocums employees weathered BIG busness better than thier customers.

Hi Thank you for the excellent care of our dog, LaLa. She recovered completely. Also, you put up with me in a time of duress...kudos to you and the rest of the staff. Our second rescue dog JoJo, came in from our yard with a big scrape on her shoulder last week. The scrape was bleeding, so we cleaned it as much as we could. It soon became infected and was causing him pain. The vets fit in him and were very kind, caring and knowledgeable in his treatment. He bounced back so fast we were amazed. Well done Wellhaven! Tod

Tone deaf, uncaring, non empathetic. My. Vet transferred my records to these people 4 months ago when my vet closed. I was told they were great and would take care of my dogs. NOT!!!! I need a refill for my pet. I got 4 months of the meds in September to be sure this vet would have everything transferred. Wrong! I called a week ago to get a refill, they can’t find my records. I called again today, still no help. The dog will get sick in 4 days. These people won’t help….no temp refill. I just paid for an exam and the prescription in September, they was want your money. I have never been treated so callous about my pets needs. Nothing but excuses, no help offered, just a giant FU.

I truly want to thank this place for their amazing care, kindness, and dedication. I felt heard and my concerns about my cat were addressed. Without a doubt I’m bringing my cats here again!!

Doesn’t offer walk in vaccines, poor service

Wellhaven always gets my dog in to be seen when an urgent matter arises. Clinic is very clean and staff always professional. Highly recommend!

my little dog got very sick, very fast. Dr capper was wonderful in getting her in immediately, going above and beyond what I expected. she even used time on her day off to research and consult with other vets. at the next visit, dr capper was off, and Dr Ashburn stepped on with the same wonderful attitude. they made diagnosis a priority, made sure I was kept up to date on thier thinking. both drs, The techs, and the poor girl who handles the phones were patient with me and my crazy worried behavior. I simply could not be more impressed

A very good vet visit...

Due to Covid I was not able to meet the staff and Dr. in person but my baby seemed happy and did well with the exam and shots.

They are the most detail oriented vet I have had the pleasure of doing business with. They are super sweet to my fur babies and make sure that I understand why/what care they need. Highly recommend!!

This review is for everyone, but primarily clients of Dr Slocum’s office. My vet of 30 plus years retired and sold out to Wellhaven in Hazel Dell. My dog, needing some shots, prompted me to schedule an appointment for her. I was sad, as Dr Slocum and Dr Stephens, were truly the best vets ever. I was a little nervous going to a new vet since you have to stay in your car because of COVID. Everyone was prompt and very nice. I got a personal phone call from the vet during the appointment, addressing my concerns. Much to my surprise, it was Dr Stephens!!!!! Immediately, I felt at ease, as she has seen Harper many times at Dr Slocums office over the years. She proceeded to go over her findings and address my concerns, never rushing me. Wow, my fears were eliminated and I was so happy I gave them a try. I can tell you, Dr Stephens is great, and is all about you pets well being!

I very much appreciate Dr. Ashmore's thoroughness when I give her a list of concerns/questions... And I felt zero pressure to get any tests done. I trust her when she said that we can wait for yearly bloodwork results...

Great experience. Both doctor and nurse/assistant did a great job even though our kitten Gizmo was very nervous and had clammy paws. We appreciate looking at and taking care of our little guy :)

WellHaven was awesome and the staff was super helpful with our family and getting service for our two boys ???? This was a first visiting a veterinarian and it was just super easy and the staff guided us through the whole process. We had a difficult time finding a veterinarian for our new kittens. We were very happy that Wellhaven was able to see us right away. They were very gentle with our cats when giving them their vaccines. The follow up on lab work was timely. They've been very responsive and we're happy to have found a new veterinary home.

This has been hands down the best Vet I have found. Dr. Capper and the rest of the team here have taken excellent care of my pup. I can’t thank them enough.

My husband and I had to put down our little baby yesterday, she was 20 years old. I can not even begin to thank these people on how caring and supportive they were through the whole process. They respected that I was scared to be in the room but knew I didn’t want to leave my dogs side. They really care about animals and their patients. The hazel Dell location for well haven is the only place I will ever take any of my animals. The vet and her techs are the sweetest people I have ever met and are amazing with animals ❤️

Despite COVID, I felt as if I was in the room with my dog and her vet discussing her needs and treatment options. My dog is my kid, and having her so well taken care of meant the world to me. All options and information was presented with honesty and compassion, and I felt like my dog was in great hands.

I absolutely love WellHaven! Their Hazel Dell location is always so friendly and understanding. Their number one goal is to make your pet feel safe and cared for in their care. I have an extremely anxious dog and they are so gentle and understanding of her background and work with me constantly to make sure she has the best experience in their care. They are also sure to educate me while they care for my two dogs, making sure I'm in the loop! I'll never take my pups anywhere else!
