After bringing our dog to VCA Manito for 2-1/2 years, I sadly have to conclude I don’t recommend this clinic. My husband and I have transferred his care (to SouthCare Animal Medical Center). I only wish we had done it sooner. It’s hard to know whether you’re in the right place until there’s a crisis which is why I’m writing this review, hoping to help others. Our dog had high urine protein in 2019, 2020, and 2021. Dr. Purvis only mentioned it in 2021. Once I got a copy of the tests, I saw the lab noted each year a urine protein creatinine (UPC) test was needed. When I asked why she hadn’t alerted us in 2019 or 2020, her reply was: “I must’ve decided the high protein loss could be explained other ways.” In other words, she ignored the lab notes and didn’t include us in her decision, twice. Then all of a sudden in 2021 she said all these tests needed to be done. Also, our VCA Care Club plan included a blood pressure check each year. It turns out it was never done in 2019 or 2020 even though our dog had a dental cleaning and went under anesthesia each of those years. When it was finally done in 2021, it was very high. Dr. Purvis disregarded the reading and did it again after he was sedated for another dental cleaning. Then it was normal. When I asked about this, she said the sedative just took the edge off. Once again, she disregarded something critical. In fact, he does have high blood pressure which is associated with the high protein loss. After getting proper care at SouthCare and the WSU Veterinary Hospital, our Golden Retriever has been diagnosed with protein losing nephropathy. This can be fatal if not treated right away and thanks to VCA Manito, it’s been going on for a long time. Now he's on medications but his prognosis isn't good due to the long delay in treatment. The negligence at this clinic is inexcusable as far as I’m concerned. Dr. Purvis is also rude. I tried my best to overlook her rudeness thinking she was a good vet but we had to learn the hard way she isn’t. Don’t let the AAHA accreditation fool you like it did us. I’ve since learned that accreditation only has to do with record keeping, equipment, etc, NOT medical competency.

My wife and I just adopted a new puppy and naturally, we had about a thousand questions and two-thousand things to be anxious over. My wife made our appointment with Manito VCA Hospital to have our new pup checked out. Let me tell you… the ENTIRE staff was nothing short of amazing. From the very beginning the staff did all they could to make our feel welcomed and calm. Our Vet, Dr. Foss (maybe Fauce?) was incredible! She not only gave our puppy 3 vaccines without so much of any noticeable yelp or flinch from pain! Beyond that, she sat with us for an hour and a half answering every anxiety fueled rapid fire question we had! We’ve never had more gracious assistance and care. We are very thankful for this team! Shelby will be back soon! Thank you!

Dr Pervis was amazing with my little puppy that came down with parvo. She gave me everything I needed to try to help him through it. She made sure she was up to date on current treatments. She was compassionate and caring. He didn't make it, but I know I did everything that could have possibly been done because of her help. I will definitely use VCA Manito for my future pets.

Will take your money without giving you answers, do not care about all pets equally. They massively overcharge, and are very patronizing and condescending; I do not reccomend.

I've been going to VCA Manito since 2016, and even though I moved to the north side I still make the drive across town to this VCA because their care is truly unmatched. My dog Lucy is anxious and does not like other dogs, so she cries a lot but also LOVES seeing the vet. The staff gets her to the room quickly, and they are always so sweet and give her tons of treats. We've seen Dr. Yurenka a few times for random things and she's been great, very gentle and understanding. We also just got some of Lucy's teeth removed recently and our experience with Dr. Purvis and her team has been amazing. It was much cheaper than the estimate they gave me and even though Lucy and I were both scared, I trusted these vets over any other and it went smoothly. Lucy is doing SO much better in the breath and smiles department! So I just wanted to say thank you a million times for the love and care you have given me and my dog. The things that vets see and go through on a daily basis, while still holding space for pet owners and their furry clients is angel status love. Your hearts are so big, you put our pets first appointment after appointment, day in and day out with a smile and that takes courage and compassion that most people don't have. We lost my family vet to suicide in 2012, and I think people forget the mental and emotional strength it takes to be a good vet can be taxing. Please be kind to your vets, they do everything they can to make sure your pets are well and that you leave happy. Things like cost are out of their control and if your vet is late to see you, it might mean they were dealing with something extra difficult before you that they might not show. So please be patient and remember to thank your vets!! They are really angels.

We have been taking our two cats, Maggie and Sophie, to the VCA Manito Animal Hospital for several years. I have never been to a vet that is so responsive (they will fit our cats into the schedule anytime it seems like an emergency or we are worried) or so good at follow-up care. Yesterday, for instance, we had the girls in for routine wellness care and vaccines. Today, we received a call from the vet to follow up and see how they were doing after the vaccines (I've never had that type of call with another vet.) Maggie had vomited several times this morning, so I reported that and got some advice about what to do. I got another follow-up call this afternoon to see whether the advice had worked! Overall, this vet cares deeply about animals -- their wellness, their happiness, their freedom from pain -- and about animal owners. I have been better respected and educated by this vet than by any other in 25 years of owning cats. HIGHLY recommend the VCA!

Pets are family. VCA does a great job of communicating the price of the visit and needs of your pet.

I am beyond happy with the care received for my dog Kona last minute. For some reason my vet was closed on New years Eve and my backup vet was closed due to positive covid tests. Every clinic I called including the other VCA in town immediately said they didn't have any available appts because I had not been seen by them before. I was devastated because I couldn't afford pet emergency, and Kona couldn't wait 4 days to be seen by my vet. This place actually took the time to listen to what was wrong with my dog before asking if I had been seen by them before (she had a 3"long1/4"deep laceration and you could see at least an inch of muscle) they said if I could come right now the vet would be able to fit kona in during their lunch break. They stitched her up so nicely and did not try to take advantage of me financially. The end cost was actually $50 cheaper than initially quoted. I am seriously contemplating making this my new vet of choice (only thing stopping me is the distance as I'm moving to deer park next month). If I lived closer I would not think about going anywhere else! This clinic absolutely earned my business and I can not express how grateful I am for them.

We just relocated to Spokane. First thing on my list was to find my dog a new vet to establish her care. I read the reviews of VCA Manito Animal Hospital which were great. I chose them and have no regrets after our first visit. The staff is welcoming and friendly. My dog loved Dr. Swanson and so did we! She is friendly, caring and examined our girl thoroughly. I'm so glad we found VCA Manito Hospital! ????

I had to put my dog down unexpectedly yesterday. It was a childhood dog of almost 14 years and I was devastated. The staff here were so incredibly helpful and kind during the whole process. They gave me options for care but kept it realistic and didn’t hide pricing or mortality rate information which helped me make my decision ultimately. It was a nice day out so they allowed me to spend time out back with my girl before hand and even had plenty of treats for me to give her one last time. The vet did amazing at explaining the process to me and even allowed us to do it right there in the grass where she was peacefully sleeping in my lap. Then they let me have some alone time with her to say my final goodbyes before she came back and gently swaddled my girl in blankets and carried her off gently. It really was the best experience I could have asked for in that situation. This place really did more than I had expected to help comfort me and make the process as easy as possible. Would highly highly recommend.

My dog never saw the vet here. Why? After obtaining his records from previous vets, the director called with a referral. Why? So, I would not waste my money. That is an extraordinary vet. All the rest of them were happy to take my money.

Love the service but would much rather be able to go inside with my pet for her yearly exam but I understand that this is how things are during the pandemic.

After 3 years, I am leaving. Numerous continued problems. 90% of the time my appointment runs more than 20 minutes late, even just to drop off for a procedure. Despite me explaining my dogs do not like the vet so we prefer to simply go in, get our issues addressed and leave, they always insist on spending exorbitant amounts of time trying to make it a "Fun visit". I can't wait for 20 to 45 minutes past my appointment nearly every time just to be seen then another 40 minutes to get regular immunizations, etc. Scheduling of procedures is just as difficult. My small breed dog had an appointment to get her teeth cleaned at 9:00 am. At 2 it still wasn't done she was hypoglycemic and extremely stressed out by the time I got her home. They had prescribed anti-anxiety meds to be given the night before. The receiving vet said that was wrong and she should've gotten some for the morning of the procedure but didn't give her any and let her sit there 6 hours past her time. Could go on and on but I believe my point has been made.

While it's never fun going to the vet, this place is fantastic. They helped our little sick kitten get the fluids she needed and the diagnostics they ran were all very reasonably priced. We will be back! (Though ideally, we won't have to!) Update: thanks to VCA Manito, little kitten is all better and doing kitten things again (aka playing with her vet take-home-bag instead of needing it for meds!)

The place is very welcoming, they put my animals name of the welcome board, and were waiting for him, excited to meet him. Everyone was very freindly and had my anmilas best interest at heart. They also were very fast in getting him an appointment, and he was super happy when he left. Overall a great place and my animal enjoyed it.

VCA Manito is not my personal vet but I took a client's dog there per their request and they are amazing! They knew the dog on a personal level. They were fully aware of his quirks. Although I love my personal vet I wish they were closer to where I live.

Because they rock it! Update, we just lost our beloved mr pete. Without vca, we would never had gotten another year of unconditional love mr pete. Thank you for all you did for him, and you're compassion at the end of his life.

My husband scheduled an appointment our dog and cat for rabies shots which I expected to be no more than $100 for both. I walk out with a $423.00 bill! unbeknownst to me, they did more than what my husband scheduled, told me I could contest anything but then guilt tripped me into all of the work. I felt like an elderly person being taken advantage of a sketchy mechanic.

Very caring and explains things to you upfront about what is going on with your pet. They understand your pet isn't at their favorite place. Even when you go into the exam room they have your pet's name on a little board welcoming them. Maybe silly but it just gives you a little warm feeling. The hours are fantastic as well.
