Smooth caring operation for your pets. My dog was boarded there 3 days and the doggy was happy and well cared for.

We’ve been taking our huge, high energy dog here for about a year. He is always so excited to go, gets excited when he sees each employee, and sleeps well when he comes home. The employees know all of our dog’s little quirks and have helped teach our dog new skills. The location is super convenient for working downtown and the value for money is great compared to other doggy daycares in the area.

Dog was injured, attendant appeared not to notice. Owner was defensive. It was the owners daughter in site when I picked him up. I heard him yelp when they went back to get him, when he came out I brought to her attention the blood running down from his neck to his ear. The next day I went in to tell the owner that the bill was $850 and the vet thought it could be from a sharp objects at the facility. She stated there was nothing sharp and sometimes puppies have sharp teeth. The injury was deep in his ear without other bite marks around it. She never asked to see my bill, but rather stated that I signed the liability waiver. Since they advertise that they have cameras I asked if she could review, conventioniently she stated they weren't working and they don't record. The point is, I did let them know and how they couldn't have noticed the injury only continues to prove the point of the lack of oversight. I did ask for resolution and there was none.

My dog, Potter, loves coming here! He gets excited when we pull up to the building. You can tell they pay very close attention to every dog, for they found out if my dog would like to play with the small dogs or the big dogs instead of just putting him in one of them. (He is medium sized) they are very friendly and offer a great doggy day care service.

I took many classes from Lee at Lilac City Dog Training Club, she was the creator of their first Intermediate classes. I took that class for a year! When she opened Alpha Dogs, I was one of her first customers! All of these accusations are false and malicious. There is a huge and loyal customer base including many friends in the training communit. WE GOT YOUR BACK Lee & Scott!

We sent our dog to Alpha Dog late summer, and by this winter we removed him from there. At first our pup loved it. He is a very happy pup that gets along with all people and all other dogs, but it did NOT take long before we started noticing things at home. First, he stopped eating and was acting  depressed. We noticed when we'd take him in or pick him up if the owners/workers weren't up front when we first got there, that there was a lot of "yelling" at the dogs in the back....and I don't mean yelling to the dogs as in giving them a command, but gruff yelling and mean sounding. We could hear this from the front counter. Okay, dog's don't understand the difference. They only know by our tones. The owners and their daughter seem to be the worst at speaking in a very harsh manner almost mean tone to the pups. They say they have a great amount of training in "dog behavior," but I've not seen it in their application with the dogs nor their vocabulary in speaking. When you drop off and pick them up, they do make your dog sit, by command in gruff voice or even pushing their behinds down to sit. That is the only exercise I've seen them use their "behavioral training" on the animals. Finally and this was the straw that broke the camel's back; our pup came home with signs of  shock collar use...throwing up food, even water, depressed and hating to wear his own halter/harness, which he hadn't before. Now I realize that shock collars are not illegal to use in this state, but to use them in a doggie day care without the knowledge and especially the permission of the owner is unethical and immoral at best. Dogs can't talk and they can't tell you what's going on, so  you can only see by their demeanor, behavior, spirits or possibly if they have any physical residual effects from treatment. They didn't ask for our permission or give us the knowledge that their facility uses or even has shock collars on the premises. There's no way they asked our permission, because there's no way I'd agree to this or would have left our dog there if I'd known that they even had shock collars in the facility. It's like they can't control the dogs with their "animal behavioral" training, so they just shock collar them. The other thing about this place that is very sketchy is they will not let you go in the back...like at all. I realize that they can't allow people to just come and go in the back for safety reasons, but you would think they'd allow tours or visits at certain times so people can see where they are sending their pups each day! Other facilities do allow tours. I asked for one at Alpha Dogs when we first signed on...they wouldn't allow it. By the way, we did take our pup to the vet, we did get the shock collar symptoms checked out as our pup was only showing these symptoms while at Alpha Dog. In addition, their "nanny cam" that could give you any kind of solace or piece of mind to watch your pup while he/she is at this facility isn't working half the time ("it's down" they say) and when it is working it only shows a very small vantage point. Not a terrible place to take your dog if you have absolutely no other choice as they have great pups there to socialize with your pup, but the way it's run is a 1 star and only because first, Google Review doesn't allow for 1/2 stars, and 2)the pup to pup socializing that goes on is great. Otherwise, it would be a "1/2 star." Some of the workers that aren't related to the owners that are general hires were actually nice to us and the dogs, didn't hear them yelling, but unfortunately the owners are not kind and if they aren't friendly to your pups in front of you and you hear them speaking harsh to dogs in the back when you're standing there listening, how else are they treating them when they THINK no one is looking/listening? Just know when you take your fur baby to Alpha Dogs that they may very well use a shock collar on your pup without your permission, especially if you have a high energy or friendly, out going dog that they feel is hard to control.

I heard about these two reviews claiming they use shock collars, how ignorant most owners are! The #1 cause of Tracheal Trauma is from allowing your dog to excessively drag and pull you. This causes the dog to cough and hack as they are literally choking themselves. If you were allowing your dog to do this, you caused their injury from your own lack of training and ignorance. To turn around and accuse someone else for what you caused is irresponsible. No vibration or shock collar would ever result in these symptoms. Interesting how both claims seem copied and done intentionally to harm good people. We have taken classes from Lee & DJ as well. Friends of Alpha Dogs and loyal customers are taking this to task.

My pup has been going here for about a year, full time Monday through Friday. We interviewed several places before bringing our dog here. We felt that Alpha Dogs were knowledable in several areas including food, treats, and training. I wouldn’t recommend anyone else!

We've been taking our dogs here for a little over a year now. They love it there. This is the only dog daycare in the area with an outdoor option. The staff are kind and friendly. They always treat our pups well. Highly recommend.

I was looking for a new doggy daycare so I took my dog here for a “trial” day Which I was told was free to make sure my dog was a good fit. Upon arrival I was told that the trial day was only free if I was going to use them as the doggy daycare and when I told them I was not going to use them, they charged me DOUBLE a regular day! When I asked them why I was being charged double what a regular day costs the dark haired older lady I was speaking to was very rude and snappy and said it is her business and that’s what she charges for a one day only but if I wanted to go ahead with the daycare she would credit the money to my account. I really didn’t care for the business practice. I felt like I got duped.

Just moved to Spokane recently and have been so reassured by how kind the staff have been to my aging border collie. They are friendly, and were also able to recommend a great vet. But the best part is that my dog lets out her happy bark every time we drive up to the building.

Great family owned and operated doggie daycare. My dogs essentially grew up at Alpha Dogs from puppies to now seniors.

I have been working at Alpha Dogs for a while and have loved the experience, the owners Lee and Scott have made me feel like a part of the family. They have a fiercely loyal clientele for obvious reasons and i have yet to witness a single issue while being employed here, the clients and the dogs love coming here. Honestly through some of the other employees who have worked at various other similar institutions locally i highly recommend only bringing your dog to Alpha Dogs. I have heard horror stories about various other businesses that i will not name out of my empathy for small business owners. I love this place so much that i am recommending my own parents to bring their puppies here for daycare when they have doctors appointments in town. No one is perfect and of course every business has its problems, with that being said i can say this is a top notch business that i hold in high regards.

I have used Alpha Dogs for my Pit and Husky and am more than pleased with their services. I would recommend them to all my friends! My dogs come home happy and tired. Great service and very knowledgeable about training practices and breed specific issues. They do NOT use shock collars, they use pet safe vibrating collars and I actually purchased one to use on my pup who is an incessant barker, they do not cause harm and do exactly what they sound like, they vibrate. If you need a daycare, this is the place to go!

They Use SHOCK COLLARS ON DOGS- currently unlicensed kennel as well. For the past four months, I had been taking both of my dogs to Alpha Dogs, LLC in Spokane, WA. Initially, I felt very comfortable with the Owner Lee and both my 2 year old Tibetan Spaniel/Chihuahua and my now 11 month old Border Collie puppy seemed excited to go. Alpha Dogs also had excellent reviews online through several social media sites and Google. However, last Thursday, I arrived to pick up my pups and discovered that an ELECTRONIC SHOCK COLLAR had been placed on my 11 month old border collie puppy. The collar was on so tight, he was almost gagging. To say that I was upset is an understatement. When asked for an explanation as to why they would use a painful and uncomfortable device on A PUPPY who is still learning social behaviors, her only excuse was that he kept pestering her daughter's dog. My Puppy is a very sweet, highly energetic dog and has never shown signs of aggression. I was never told about any problems, if there were problems, I was told the dog would be placed in "time out". She did not call me and I have never given permission, nor would I sanction the use of such a device on my dogs. When she came out to speak with me, it was quite obvious she never intended to tell me she had been punishing my puppy with a shock collar and I only caught them because they forgot to remove the collar.. She tried to say she had told me back in the summer that they use shock collars, but I know she did not as I would NEVER have taken my dogs there if she had told me that. Upon further research, I have discovered through Spokane County that Alpha Dogs is currently an unlicensed (meaning illegal) commercial kennel and they have no record of them being licensed with the county. This means that there have been no inspections or monitoring for violations by Spokane County. I have inquired with all of the other licensed dog daycares and kennels in Spokane/Valley and NONE of them use shock collars, especially without owners written permission. Shock collars can actually cause aggression if used incorrectly. I had also been noticing my border collie throwing up when he was trying to eat this past week, and when I got him home that Thursday night, he drank water then immediately vomited. When I took him to the vet the next day, the vet cleared him of illness but noticed he was have difficulty swallowing and that he appeared to have throat irritation and the shock collar could have been on too tight. Alpha Dogs did refund my money, but I want to try and let all the other dog owners who may be either taking their dogs to Alpha Dogs or considering going there to know that she will use shock collars on dogs without owners permission and they may never know about it. I highly encourage any dog owner to verify through S.C.R.A.P.S (Spokane County Regional Animal Protection Services) that the daycare facility has a current license and no complaints. Records are public and free to request.

What a great local business! It's family ran and they all really understand working with dogs. I'll definitely be back.

Alpha dogs has taken excellent care of our dog. Initially she was very shy and now she has become more of a social butterfly. The review that was posted rating this as a one-star place is obviously a scam. Couldn't imagine a better place to take our dog. There are definitely no shock collars used hear otherwise our dog wouldn't be so eager to come back. Great place with great ownership at a very reasonable price!

This is the second place that I've tried taking my two rescue dogs to. What a difference! The dogs have gotten to where they are excited about going to Alpha Dogs. Where as the more times I tried to take them to the first place to get them used to it, the more they started fighting against going in. With Alpha Dogs it's totally different! They are wanting to go through the gate and wanting to go in. What a nice surprise in a short amount of time! Especially for the male! He's the one who put up the most fight at the other place. I also love the fact that I can watch them on camera to see how they're interacting with other dogs. Everyone at Alpha Dogs has been great and caring! I really appreciate the time and consideration they've given in dealing with two older rescue dogs helping them realize that how their life was for so long in the past is nothing to be scared of anymore.
