We have been taking our pups to Shaggy Shack for years! We absolutely love the staff and the extra care that they take with our animals. This family owned and operated business exceeds expectations every single time. They take extraordinary care with dog behaviors and are experienced dealing with multiple dogs and multiple behaviors. The owners have set their dog yards up so all dogs are cared for and protected. We cannot say enough good things! Desiree at Shaggy Shack took great care of our Labradoodle when he went in for grooming, and he came back looking great. This is definitely where we're taking him.

The staff is awesome. I board my older lab-mix on holiday weekends. They play with him and socialize him with the other dogs. They take great care of him and always follow the feeding and medication routine. He is so tired when he gets home!

So my Maisie went to Shaggy Shack for nearly a year before we moved out of state 6/2021 - Maisie attended daycare weekly, was groomed monthly and we boarded her once. We loved the staff and the facility - they have a genuine love for animals. After moving I have tried many facilities and none have compared to the cleanliness, the dog runs and outdoor play areas and the indoor kennels. I never realized how awesome Shaggy Shack is and now and sadly disappointed with the lack of clean and dog friendly daycares/boarding where I now live. The Resort feel of Shaggy Shack that Maisie had is now very clear to me you will not regret this location

My Rotti, Attila gets so excited every time I drop him off for his spa day....then pouts just as hard when I return a few hrs later to pick him up...lol Hes never excited to go home....he absolutely loves the Staff at the ShaggyShack and all the doggie friends he makes when he visits. It feels good knowing your dog is enjoying his stay and is being cared for when you are not there. Thanks ShaggyShack...dont ever change!!

I’m so grateful with this place! They are awesome! Really professional and you can tell how much they love animals! I totally recommend it! Oh and their prices are totally affordable.

They were great with my 8 year old Chihuahua. He had never been to a daycare, or boarding for dogs. He was able to sit in her lap and gave her kisses. Great job. I can go on a short vacation and not worry about my little guy. Thanks.

I looked into this place thoroughly when I was looking to board my dog for 4th of July weekend. I called and asked a lot of questions and even dropped my dog off for doggy day care before boarding to make sure everything went well and he liked the place. I didn’t have any issues and all my questions were answered I was feeling really good about leaving my dog with them. They said they played music during the fireworks and would check on them periodically during the night. I was sold. I dropped my pup off Friday filled out some forms like when to feed him and what. Asked again about the 4th and went on my way feeling good about leaving him. Well I just picked him up today and noticed he had a cut on his leg and that two cans of his food were not opened. I called to ask about the cut which is about an inch long looks pretty fresh and was told that they weren’t sure how it happened he wasn’t showing signs of being in pain so they haven’t noticed. Ok that’s fair so then I asked about feeding. The open can I left Friday night was good for maybe one or two meals (I mix wet and dry) they hadn’t opened another. I was told that he wasn’t eating and they didn’t want to waste food. I told them I wouldn’t be coming back. If he wasn’t eating I would of liked to have gotten a phone call at the least and for them to still have given him his whole meal. I feed him as soon as I got off the phone and he practically inhaled it. I’m annoyed at the lack of communication, the cut that went unnoticed and how the girl I spoke with on the phone so easily explained away not feeding my dog. I see that a lot of people have had great experiences here and to be honest the daycare portion went fine it was just soured by my overnight experience.

Best grooming and boarding experience we have ever had! You may not know, but doodle breeds are the most difficult to maintain. Renee, and now Justyne continue to take on the challenge of grooming my bernedoodle. After waiting to be seen by the veterinarian to obtain current vaccinations, Mister Ruger was a little bit more than matted! I let them know he probably was going to be shaved everywhere, but they actually ended up saving his ears and his tail! The first time I ever groomed Ruger here, I didn't know how to describe the cut I wanted. I gave them a general description of what I wanted, but the final product was off. "They poodled my doodle" was my reaction ???????? However, after chatting with the groomer, she gave me the right words to use to describe exactly what it was that I wanted. The second time I came back, the groom was perfect and I found a few more things I wanted to tweak. Every time since then, Ruger is groomed to a T and he always comes out looking and smelling fabulous. We also recommend boarding here. We took just over a week-long cruise out of the country and within a day or two Ruger's tummy was not doing too well. He has never been separated from us. Ashley made the call and updated me and asked if she could make changes to his food to help him settle in better. I don't remember what the exact changes were now since it's been a while. He gets to run and play with other dogs while we are gone. Oh and then do daycare too! Soo many options here including their new obstacle course and training! If you're in the Spanaway, Graham, Puyallup, Roy area, or willing to drive to the deep Spanaway, you absolutely have to use this place if you ever go out of town or need grooming services!

We’re always incredibly pleased with the service provided by everyone at Shaggy Shack. We bring our dogs, Mazzi and Sprocket in for a grooming every few months and spa day is always a very good day! Our dogs shed...a LOT. I don’t know what the groomers do with their de-shedding treatment, but it is pure magic! Seriously, whatever they do works. Mazzi is a yellow lab and Sprocket is 1/2 lab, 1/2 Australian Shepherd so he’s got that thick undercoat to work through. They always finish spa day happy and looking fantastic. And, I get to vacuum far less and that alone is magical! Thank you to everyone at Shaggy Shack for consistent quality service and for treating our pups like your own. Mazzi is almost 15, yet I don’t hesitate for a second to put her in your hands for a few hours to get all prettied up. And Sprocket can most definitely be a handful to say the least, but you all are champs and get the job done. I have and will continue to recommend you for grooming and boarding needs.

Looks like a wonderful facility! Stopped in for their $1 tent sale and found some great deals! Clean and a very friendly staff.

The only thing that would make it better is if they had cameras so we could watch our fur babies!

Is nice end clean place

I don't normally write reviews, let alone bad ones, but this needs to be heard. We boarded our young black lab with shaggy shack for the first time and the last time. Upon drop off for his free day of daycare is when I saw the first red flag. The young girls at check in were extremely rude and gave the stink eye almost the entire time. They gave no explanation as to policies, procedures, or how things are run in general. The girl behind the desk seemed annoyed when I asked questions and rushed me off as best she could. I left that day feeling very uneasy about his upcoming week long stay at a place that is reluctant to disclose rules and regulations and never even offered a tour of the grounds. When I picked him up from daycare, one of his nails had come completely off and he was bleeding quite profusely. The girl who handed him off to me shrugged and said he did it while playing. I understood, but asked about their policy if he gets hurt further or it becomes infected. She simply continued to shrug me off and said "I doubt it will become infected, just go home and clean it." Obviously I was going to care for him, but my question was what YOU will do when I'm gone if this happens. Fast forward to his boarding experience. When my husband dropped our dog off, he said the older woman checking him in was pleasant and went over their contract with him. When I picked him up, my immediate observation was that he was filthy (not a big deal), and his breathing was strained and hoarse. Upon loading him in the car, I realized he smelled like urine and he had lost his voice so bad that he was unable to cry, which he was trying to do but no sound would come out. When I got him home is when I noticed his paws. Both of his back paws were completely raw on the padding and very swollen. There was absolutely no mention of this when I picked him up. Hardly any conversation when I picked him up, for that matter. I had to press for information and only got a "he was a good boy." I find it very hard to believe that his paws went unnoticed when he was nonstop licking them and struggling to get to his feet from laying down. There was no vet visit. There was no phone call. There was no attempt to care for his wounds. He came home extremely thirsty and when I unpacked his food containers, I realized they were much more full than they should have been. I sent him with enough food to get him through the week, plus a day, so his food container should have been nearly empty. It was over half full. Needless to say, we will never be staying with shaggy shack again and even though it is a far drive, happy tails in enumclaw will forever be our go-to boarding. Do your research, read their reviews, and you will see they are amazing, walk you through everything that goes on, have way more playing space and lush land for the dogs, and even CHEAPER than this dump. You're welcome!

Shopping at shaggy shack is a bit of a nightmare. It's not well organized, open and freezing in the winter. Staff isn't very helpful (if you can even find them), and the prices for used pet supplies are very high

I had great expectations for place however my experience was quite the contrary, first one of my dogs has cancer so we are very careful with her surroundings to keep them clean and make her comfortable while she still with us. After we picked her the groomer told us she had a tick we had to spend more money to finally be convince she was tick free. be assured she was tick, flea or any other thing related to dogs free because of her cancer on the whole bottom of her stomach we try to keep her as happy. You can bet we will not be taking her near that place as I seem some reviews agree that place looks dirty and I’m not even gonna Go into details about the other dog we took along with her. So blaming us for the ticks and fleas plus the dogs we saw outside on the rain without cover getting wet not the place for us!

My dogs LOVE coming here for daycare! I have an escape artist and they can even accomade to her special needs! Highly reccomended ????

I am so very impressed with Shaggy Shack Pet Resort. From the moment I met them, everyone was so kind and helpful to me. My dog Bailey stayed there for just over a month and the girls kept in touch with me and also sent photos and videos of how Bailey was doing while I was away. I was very impressed! They went above and beyond to help Bailey settle in there, and I couldn’t have asked for any more. I won’t hesitate to take Bailey there again in the future. He was definitely on good hands. Thank you so much everyone.????
