Klahaya cares very much and goes out of their way to show it. From the ability to call in and talk to someone to be sure they can take you in an emergency to checking in after care they provide wonderful support. Bonus they play good background music and brew Vista Clara coffee in the lobby.

They were amazing! Another vet was supposed to do a C-section and canceled at the last minute to go on vacation. I was scrambling trying to find someone to do the C-section for my Frenchie. They came to the rescue. There were professional kind and understanding. I don't know what I would do if they did not come through. Thank you all!

We love this vet. They always do a great job taking care of our animals. Recently our Corgi, Gus, was in to have a couple fatty lumps removed. He also had an oral exam done which revealed one tooth that needed removal. Not only did they remove the tooth but they found roots of another tooth that was removed prior (by another vet……) and removed that too! I am very happy that they care enough about my dog to even fix the mistakes of another vet!!! Highly recommend them! They will take care of your animals and do the right thing.

Dr. Thoreson and staff, took us and our pregnant dog on as clients. Our long time veterinary clinic expressed, they weren't available off hours or comfortable with the complications that can arise with welping puppies. Klahaya proved to be, available, compassionate, knowledgeable and straight forward honest folks!

If you love your pet, don’t take them here. Our cat was losing weight and lethargic. We took her to Klahaya and after some blood tests we were told she had an infection. She was given an injection of antibiotics and told to call in a week. She continued to lose weight due to lack of appetite and we returned a week later to get more detailed blood work done. Following the results of that test we were told “Good news, we can rule out cancer.” Over the next week, she continued to deteriorate. We called Klahaya again because we feared she was dying, and we were told they had no appointments available and to take her to an emergency vet. We did take her to an emergency clinic and after reading the results of the original blood test were told that her white blood cells were 4 times above normal indicating a chronic condition which should have indicated further testing earlier on. Our cat was now in liver failure, and we were advised that even with further testing and diagnosis at this point in time she likely would not recover. We very sadly made the decision to euthanize that day.

Really love Dr Thorsen. He is patient and kind. He is gentle with our dogs, and always gives us an honest opinion. He doesn't pressure us into tests or treatments, but let's us decide what we are comfortable with. He also does follow up calls to make sure things are going well. Highly recommend Klahaya Animal Hospital

I really liked the vet! He was great with my elderly cat! My cat can be a bit eccentric and he liked the vet. But here's the thing my cat was having an issue He had already been to anthor vet who was so far off! He just looked at him walking in the exam room door and knew what the problem was! I appreciated his attitude that we were going for quality of life. My cat is 16. Let's make his last years great! I love that!

We are a animal rescue in Washington State and would not recommend anyone wasting their time here. The receptionist was very unprofessional, their whole business is unreliable cancels your appointment the day of after an appointment confirmation. The only thing good about this place is that they let you walk in with your pet but I can recommend you others for that. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET HERE.

I have been a Vet Tech as well as a Receptionist for a Veterinary clinic for years. This was the most unprofessional clinic I have ever been to. A progesterone test at 11:00. The first of two TCI’s at 12:15. The following TCI was to occur the next day. Zero communication from Mr Thoreson or his staff after the Progesterone test. Waited in the car for over an hour. I finally had to ask a Tech going to another car to find out what was happening. A spay was to happen first, then our TCI. Waited another hour. Again, zero communication. Again, had to ask what was happening. Was told it would be another hour and if we had errand to run, go do that. We were back in 45 minutes. Waited another hour. Frustrated, I went into the clinic. Told them I came from out of state on the recommendation from a friend. I asked when we could expect to be seen. Again, waited another hour. After FOUR hours, we were finally able to be seen. No apology from Mr Thoreson, no after care instructions if we had not asked for them. Later that evening, Mr Thoreson called my friend and threatened not to do the other TCI due to his Receptionist saying I was rude. He was not got going to uphold his end of the agreement. Very unprofessional, very unethical. After my friend basically begged him, he relented. I was, however not allowing the building due to my “rudeness”. This is a fledgling practice. The entire staff, including Mr Thoreson have a lot to learn about Professionalism, Ethics and Customer Service. Luckily I will Never again have to involve them in my pets care. ********I read your response. Your staff told us to leave for lunch! I was not profane. I’ve been on the other side of that desk. I’ve been a Vet Tech. I know how it works. I used NO profanity while talking with your staff. Your staff has a lot to learn about Professionalism. You have a lot to learn about Professionalism. My hope is that anyone who is interested in Repro issues go elsewhere. Your threatening to not uphold your end of the agreement is reprehensible, unethical and unprofessional. Your practice needs to take classes on Customer Service, Time Management, Ethics and basic client interaction. There are a number of clinics that would be glad handle your repro issues. They would most likely do a much better job.*********

Everyone here was so nice. And very informative. Recommended not getting something that they could have to make money for the safety of my pup. Kudos Klahaya. I would recommend you guys to anyone.

I tend not to write reviews, but want to say that if you’re looking for repro services and don’t feel there are many options to check out Renton Animal Hospital. I ended up there after the fact and while they don’t advertise it, they do offer repro services. So Klahaya. There are a few negative reviews scattered around yelp, google, facebook. A couple have been taken down, somehow. I would pay attention to them. On the medical side, the vet clearly knows what he is doing. However, my overall experience was pretty bad. I tried to make excuses for them -- they are very busy, COVID makes everything more difficult, some of their staff was in training, etc. etc. My initial visit with the vet was odd. I felt he didn’t want to be there, and was trying to rush me out. After the initial visit, I never spoke directly to him, either in person or on the phone. This would have been okay, but the office is disorganized. They are not forthcoming with information, I got different answers from different people, they don’t always call back when they say they will. For instance, no one ever called me with initial test results; when I called a week later, I found myself actually arguing about with the receptionist about whether they had called my cell and left a message. The argument appeared to be that if you call and leave a voicemail and hang up too fast, the voicemail will not appear and there will be no record of it in your call log. Who knew? The wonders of modern technology …. Similarly, I was told they would call a few days after surgery to check in and to schedule the next appointment. No one ever called. There were miscommunications on everything from next steps to fees, too. I do think they wanted to get rid of me as a client. One of the biggest problems was that Klahaya is not equipped to handle working/”power” breeds. This is not unique to this clinic; there are scads of us who know how hard it is to find vet offices who have real dog skills. And I’m sympathetic; I have an akita, and they scare people. At the time, I thought that the vet simply did not have basic dog skills. For instance, you do NOT just square up to a dog’s front, get in its face and squirt alcohol on them without at least spending 5 seconds on a basic greeting. (A polite dog is going to back up, which is what mine did—but that also sets the stage for everything else and not in a good way.) In reading other reviews that rave about animal skills, I wonder if he was just nervous. Certainly, the staff was. And it really makes a difference, especially when it comes down to being able to do routine things, like getting cytologies, which was problematic. To be fair, the staff did try their best to work with me on this, but it was largely ineffective. I think this is an area where some training could really help. The staff is mostly very young, so not terribly experienced. I also got the sense that they were far too busy and not very well supported. If you want to know the truth, I wouldn’t be writing this at all despite everything else if they had not told Renton Vet that my dog was “aggressive” when they called for records. Renton Vet was astonished at this. Like anyone who has basic handling skills, they are able to do whatever they need with my dog with a minimum of fuss. I also found them incredibly responsive, caring, with good communication, etc etc. I am sure that this will get a response trying to discredit me, the way it went on a recent review (the one about having to wait with zero communication) But really, I just felt horrible, unsupported, unwelcome, and like their inability to work with me or my dog was all my fault and I was unreasonable for thinking otherwise. If this can save one other person from feeling the same way, going through a process where you NEED your vet’s support, it’s worth it.

I absolutely love this place. We had to put a pet down over Covid and was one of the worse things I had todo in my life, but the staff and especially the doctor where extremely kind and patient. He let us say good bye and grieve and just be human. We also used their cremation pet service and they returned our dear Rollo in the most beautiful way. We switched to their office for the care of our other doggie too. He was thorough in the appointment (didn’t rush ) and made sure our old pups needs where met so she could be her spunky self again. Professional, patient, understanding and clean. They are a little on the higher end but well worth it in my opinion.

Today the Klahaya team came through big time for us. We have a young, giant breed pup who is extremely anxious and notoriously difficult to handle. And today he needed check up x-rays on a major surgery he had, to fix one of his legs. Knocking him out with anesthesia is a problem because he has a very difficult time coming down from it. So today we had a game plan of sedatives, mommy and daddy helping to get him on the x-ray table, and then the Klahaya team jumping in to get the x-rays. I wasn't sure it was going to work. Didn't have much hope really. Even had a back up appointment at the surgeon's in Shoreline, for the pup to be knocked all the way out to get the x-rays. But everyone worked together perfectly, and even though our baby was freaked out, we got the x-rays needed to see his healing progress! Success!!! I'm, honestly, still shocked it worked today but Klahaya really went above and beyond to work with us and our baby. Sooooo grateful to them!

10/10 recommend this vet clinic. The staff was so welcoming on the phone and in person. Took my bunny here for a nueter and the staff was very helpful with all the concerns I had and spoiled him while he was there. I moved here from California and struggled to find a good local vet who would take my pets in (which has been hard with Covid) but they got us right in. This whole process has been great and I feel less stressed now with our next visit to get my dog spayed. Also their prices are great and very reasonable. Thank you guys again and highly recommend trying them out!
