My mom took one of my cats down to get her claws clipped since the kitty is not a fan of this activity and can be a bit mean. My mom said that the place was clean, the staff was helpful and they were able to be seen right away. Based on this experience my mom and I would not hesitate to return if the need should arise.

Service was fast, the place was clean and the staff was so kind. Glad to have a new go to vet for my two fur babies ????

Absolutely an excellent place - the staff was kind and efficient, and Dr. Li was so compassionate to our sick kitty, very conscious of any financial restrictions, and focused on making sure we felt well informed to make the best choice for our family. The prices here are also extremely reasonable, but the ability to get a walk-in appointment last minute is priceless.

Good vets & techs. Insane wait times but that’s Covid. Going back today, my little man has a fungal infection in his paw pads.

I have mixed feelings about my visit here. The front desk staff and the vet tech were fantastic - very helpful and professional. The office/facilities seemed clean and modern. The wait times are long, but I find that understandable. Lab results were sent back to us quickly - in less than four business days. My only issue was with the communication of the veterinarian when discussing treatment options for our cat, and these treatment options were by no means complex. Miscommunications happen, but both my partner and I were left bewildered at the clear disconnect. They ended up administering a test we didn't want simply because we asked about the price (ringworm test). Even the vet said it was highly unlikely that out cat had ringworm, so it wasn't a professional judgment call on their end. At the end of the day, we did walk away with a medication for our cat to treat what is likely allergies, so I'm not too bothered. I'd be happy to go back here, but next time I won't let the vet out of my sight before action plans are thoroughly discussed.

My regular vet had no appointments for about a month and my pup was due for her vaccinations, so this was my first time visiting Urban Animal Downtown. It couldn't have been a better experience! I didn't wait long, especially considering I was a walk-in, and every member of the staff was so kind and helpful. My dog gets very nervous at the vet but they were so good with her and made her feel as safe and comfortable as possible. The value is really great as well, prices were extremely reasonable.

Overall, decent vet to go to. Not what I'm used to in terms of hospitality, but they're not bad. The wait times are sometimes ridiculous, but it's understandable with the shortage in doctors. They were very accommodating and understanding with me and my dogs. One was really sick and they took care of him as much as they could. Overall pricing is higher than what I'm used to but seems about average for Seattle. The staff is good about explaining prices and with everything being digital, you can always get copies of the receipts and visit reports sent to your email. My sick boy passed and they sent me a hand written letter "sorry for your loss" which I thought was really nice when I didn't even tell them but I'm sure they found out through everything that was going on. I really like how if it's a check up or a follow up then you don't have to wait as long to get seen.

This has been my go-to for years. Like 7 now! They are so quick and make it affordable while totally caring for my sweet winnie. I never feel rushed or like I'm just another patient. They truly take time. I even would bring winnie here for international papers when we travel to Mexico and they were right there when I needed them via email while I was at the author in Mexico and I piece of paperwork was missing that I needed. They have always prioritized us with our needs. I love feeling like I have someone in our corner

Banfield (Carkeek) recommended Urban Animal because they were unable to see the pup that we dog sit for when a cyst on her side burst. Urban Animal was easy to find, there is a drop off spot up in front of the building and free parking across the street. Having been told upfront about the wait time for walk ins (2 hours at that point) we decided to wait in our car (the pup is blind so hanging in a familiar space is less stressful for her). 30 minutes later I was delighted when the call came that we were now "third in line". We headed across the street and when we entered the lobby they offered us a room immediately. The tech and the vet were so caring. The pup got lots of love and treats. They made a quick diagnosis of the issue and were pretty clear about what needed be done to resolve the issue. The cost for the visit and medication was about $450. For sure the cost was less than that of an "emergency" vet. I would highly recommend Urban Animal and will have them in mind next time an urgent situation comes up!

I am so glad that they have gone back to the walk in system, so that those who really need urgent care can choose to get up early and be there before opening. This is so much better than scheduling an appointment and waiting for 2 weeks, during which anything could get worse and become urgent.

They are always really helpful and for the most part kind. I have had a couple bad experiences with some rude reception staff but for the most part their staff is amazing!

I arrived at 7:50 am and was 5th in line. We were taken in around 9, which was good timing. For people arriving after they started to tell them the wait time was over an hour and they would be texted when they were 3rd in line to not have them waiting inside. Would recommend you go in early or at least stay within the area. For a couple of pups that had emergency they triaged them and took care urgently. I went in for a health certificate to travel ($113) and some Bravecto ($65), they went over and beyond to guarantee the certificate had the destination country exact characteristics, reprinting when I requested to have name and license of the Veterinarian printed, and gave me an extra copy. The attention is excellent and I would go in again!

They could do better with their scheduling. COVID-19 has been ongoing for years and they still can’t seem to figure out an accurate appointment based system. However, they take good care of my dog and the staff is always kind. Still a 5/5.

I am perplexed by how Urban is mishandling their terrible operations and customer service. I’ve learned from friends that if you leave an honest review and return to give them a chance, they will decline services because in their mind “you didn’t give us a chance” and should’ve told them versus leaving a review. Well, customers returning IS giving them a chance, and leaving an honest review is fair for all customers to see and an accountability measure. Alas, they don’t like it. Thus, here I am sharing my experience and why I’ve chosen not to return because I have nothing to lose since I found a better vet. I moved to Seattle about a year ago with my Covid pup from Chicago. In Chicago, I had the best vet who I only saw during Covid times. My Chicago vet was always punctual and they were very available to answer all my new parent questions via phone, email, or in person. When I moved to Seattle, my puppy had terrible diarrhea. I was confused and scared so I made an appointment with Urban. Urban never stated that they are a walk in clinic. So I show up for my appointment and waited 2 hours to be seen. I was so frustrated that I called my Chicago vet and he helped me over the phone. This was back in July 2020. I can’t believe that over a year later, it’s still the same. Having gone to other vets, I can assure you it’s not the same experience so their excuse of “it’s Covid times” is sad and a scapegoat. I am so glad I found another vet shortly after and never returned. Edited: We received an email last week with their take on pressing questions. See screenshots attached.

These guys are awesome. They took great care of me and my pet. If they are busy just be a little patient and relax outside. They text you when they are about ready for you to come back. Don’t listen to any bad reviews. Everyone who worked here was very friendly and the vet tech and Dr were great.

I am impressed by many high quality experiences at Urban Animal. I see the employees going above and beyond. The employees are knowledgeable, so kind, caring, and compassionate. You can tell the hearts of the employees are in it for the well-being of animals. I trust Urban Animal with my beloved fur babies and I am grateful for this incredible veterinary clinic.

With the influx of new pet owners, my normal vet wasn't able to get my dog in. Urban Animal not only got her in same day, but everyone I talked to, worked with, or even saw was knowledgeable, friendly, and made me feel like I'd been going there for years (despite it being my first visit). They listened to what had me nervous and got my pup tested, weighed, and prescribed super quick. They were quick to follow up with the test results, and I will definitely be using them from now on.

My cat has had persistent respiratory issues for weeks, so after calling around to every vet in the area and being told that none of them had appointments available for months, I took my boy to this clinic to be checked out by a vet. It was recommended to me by two veterinary offices that I called, so I felt comfortable giving it a shot. When I arrived, I was immediately greeted by a staff member who took my information quickly and painlessly, was kind and very informative. She told us that it might be about an hour wait, but we were inside of a room in no more than 20 minutes. The room itself was very clean (as was the waiting area), the vet's assistant was delightful and genuinely loved animals, and so was the vet herself. She sat us down and explained treatment options for our boy, in a more in-depth way than the other vet I used to see in West Seattle ever did. She even diagnosed a completely unrelated issue for us and gave us a quote on how to fix it, which we didn't expect at all but greatly appreciated! I was in and out of the office in a little over an hour- there was a bit of a wait towards the end, but it was obvious that they got super busy and I didn't mind. The pricing was also very reasonable. I honestly didn't have many expectations for a walk-in clinic, but they all seemed to handle the stress of getting busy out of nowhere very well and didn't compromise our pet's care at all because of it. I absolutely feel comfortable bringing the little guy back here, hopefully after his teeth cleaning I won't have to!

6 hours from initial check in and I'm still waiting for the vet. Went home for 3 hours then got a text. What was supposed to be 45 min. turned into hours. This is a follow up visit. My pup is tired and hungry, as am I.

Show up 15-30 minutes before opening or accept waiting 2-3 hours to be seen, where you must be physically present to maintain your spot in the queue. We will be searching for another vet that allows scheduling appointments.

I have to say this place doesn’t value customers’ time and more importantly the pets’ feeling. The new rule asks customers to walk in and wait physically there. Our dog is extremely anxious when he is on a leash at the strange place for a while, and I’m sure other pets may have similar situations (especially cats). It doesn’t sound like a considerate rule made by a place that provides care for your pets.
