They recognized an emergency situation on a Saturday when they were very busy, and had us come right in. They took great care of our little guy and we are appreciative.

Still one of the better ones. I've had to make several emergency trips here over the last 10 years with both …

They took care of my sick cat when literally no other vet in the Seattle area would. They were very upfront about the wait and staff were very helpful.

Brought my dog to South Seattle for emergency care (her incision from a recent surgery looked infected and she couldn't stop vomiting). The front desk and techs were lovely, but the vet was awful. Just one example - the vet talked me into a surgery it turned out she didn't need to clean and re-stitch the wound, saying it was a massive risk of infection. Then on the records after she came home, the vet's notes said he advised the owner to take the dog to their regular vet for a re-check but the owner insisted on surgery. AND, they have no clinic administrator so there isn't anyone to talk to about issues.

My cat had a severe reaction to a flea treatment. They were fairly full but took her in. She spent two days there and came out very vibrant, and clean. They kept me updated on her status and treatment. They saved my cat's life so I am eternally grateful for that.

I would give zero if I could! DO NOT GO THERE! Is a factory, not a clinic! Maybe they’ll give you smaller quote but you’ll end up with many complications. After my cats foreign body surgery she ended up in the hospital for 6 days so the cost was more then doubled, and my cat was dead at the end because they didn’t check she was diabetic, so the treatment should be different from the beginning. Second cat almost died, after surgery, she wasn’t better at home so they told to bring her in, keep for the night, give fluids home again - and same story again, cat was weak - bring the cat in for another night. I called different vet who came home and said the surgery was done rough and sloppy, that’s why cat was in so much in pain. He questioned also the quality of pain medication given home. After home treating we were able to save the cat but the time and effort and money were lost already. How many patients a day they loose because of this? Who knows! If you love your pet, go somewhere else. They are super busy, short staffed, rude and accept way too many patients they can handle. Never ever again!!!

I’m not really very happy with the service I got today. My dog Lily is rescue out of Texas with a bladder infection when she arrives at SeaTac airport. She runs out of antibiotics and a few days later I realize she still has the infection so i take her in and she gets more antibiotics. After she was done with them about a week later I notice there is blood in her urine so again we go back. The vet said I needed to give her more water and take her outside more. She always has water and I take her out about every hour when I’m home. I do work so that parts tough but I feel like he made me out as a bad pet owner.

My baby died a day and a half after me taking him there cuz he was having trouble breathing they said his lungs were filled with fluid in his heart was enlarged yet they didn't offer to keep him overnight or do anything else they just gave me some pills to give himand told me take home. If I hadn't taking him to this wretched place he may still be alive today. For over $600 they're the worst vets in Seattle don't trust your babies with them. I'd give him a zero if I could

The absolute worst. Stay away if you value your pet. The veterinarian and staff fell woefully and egregiously short of acceptable skill and service in my opinion.

Quoted us $2500-$6000 for treatment of our cat, which included a 1-7 night stay on IV fluids (length depending on his state) before even knowing what was actually wrong with him. The vet implied that our cat was in such a dire state that we should decide whether or not to put him down or go for the expensive aggressive treatment. He kept suggesting tests and treatment without mentioning pricing, and I had to constantly stop him to ask how much each one would be. We decided to take our cat home to figure out what to do—at which point, the vet finally recommended a $60 medicine to address what he thought our cat’s condition might actually be. This should have been mentioned at the very beginning!! Before we left, we were told it would probably be time to say goodbye if our cat didn’t improve with the medication over the next 2 days. Which didn’t really make sense as from what I read, the condition could take weeks to see improvement. 2 days passed, and we decided to go see our regular vet to get a second opinion before making such a final decision. The vet there was not nearly as alarmed as the vet at South Seattle was, and they made a treatment plan and next steps for us to figure out what is actually wrong with our cat. They explained everything to us thoroughly and in a way that we could actually understand, and were clear about the costs upfront. That was 3 weeks ago. Our cat has slowly been improving, and I’m so glad we went and got that second opinion. We only came here because our regular vet is closed on the weekends, and even they don’t recommend this place for emergencies! I wish I had seen the reviews before choosing this place. Be cautious if you come here!

All I am going to say, is Dr. Harbir Goraya is the rudest, and by far the worst vet I have ever encountered. If you can, stay AWAY from this ER... especially if you go at night... because that is when he works. If it wasn't for him, I would easily give the ER 4 stars

My dog was having a late night stomach issue, and they were able to diagnose and address it quickly. Thank you so much!

When our 21 year old cat had an emergency, no other emergency vet in Snohomish or King county has space for her, but South Seattle was able to see her in under an hour. They gave her wonderful care and we were able to bring her back home, happy and on the road back to health in less than 24 hours.

Absolutely the worse customer service ever! Not 1 hour late, hours late! No apology. No Communication of ANY kind! Then when you call them about the issue they blame you for getting angry with them. Don't go here! Save yourself the trouble.

They are quite competent to handle regularly scheduled and obvious emergency issues. It does not seem, though, that the staff is qualified or encouraged to get a complete picture of more vague situations or listen to a pet owner for relevant details. I brought my dog in around 9pm after he wasn't eating or drinking water for a couple days and then had blood in his vomit, with my other dog having similar but less severe issues at the same time. The doctor told me it must have been that he ate a toy because she couldn't touch her hands together through his stomach and she wanted to admit him, talking about costs first (around 2300) but not willing to talk about specifics. No tests, no blood drawn, and when I started to ask questions and describe their environment (forest, wild animals, standing water, a creek they get into), she talked over me and interrupted and rolled her eyes repeatedly. Said it couldn't possibly be anything like leptospirosis because that never happens. Then yelled at me (literally loud yelling) when I said I'm not comfortable leaving him here without a better plan. I took him to another emergency clinic, where they got all of the details, talked to me, compared his symptoms with his brother, and quickly diagnosed the issue. To her credit it was not leptospirosis ... It was salmon poisoning which is much more serious and she might have known had she listened. Gladly both dogs are fine now with a round of antibiotics and supportive gastrointestinal medications, and preventative measures to keep them from going fishing again. All at another clinic with overnights and treatment for less than the non specific quote from South Seattle vet. I might bring a pet here for a booster based on convenience, but for anything else I'll drive another 15 minutes for quality care.

Animal butchers and way overpriced, please take my advice and go somewhere else for emergency services…. I am warning you if you care about your pet don’t go!!! Every time we have gone all of our animals have gotten severe infections from them putting in “drain tubes “ even though we did everything they said. Also the wait times and communication is ridiculous.

If you care about your pet beware. Misdiagnosis!! Surgery for bacteria infection? Come on!! They will scrape you for every penny.

This hospital is unprofessional and rude! They do not prioritize emergencies. They also aren't kind when your pet is being euthanized. Honestly avoid this hospital at all cost. There are better options for emergency clinics and this is not it.

The entire staff is very caring and careful with your pet. My 15 year old dog has been there four times and had an emergency surgery. I trust them completely and will continue to take her there. The only downside is they are so busy and need to expand!! :)

Two stars; one for good parking, one for the ramp, which is excellent for our older ambulatory pets. I cannot comment on actual pet care, because I had the good sense to walk out 5 minutes after walking in.here is my story: my 1yr old Parson Russell Terrier had eaten rat poison approximately 3 hrs prior….I presented with him in tow and explained very briefly to the receptionist the situation. I had the container of rat poison with me. The only question asked was, how old was “Fred”. Minutes later after allegedly speaking to a Vet she declared…. The visit could run from $1500 up to as much as $3000. Fred would have to stay overnight for observation-all additional charges. After the initial shock of income generation and lack of professionalism, (on the part of receptionist and Vet.- honestly, if I were the Dr. I’d be concerned about an ethical situation), I said I wasn’t comfortable with this…actually, it boils down to one hell of an insult to one’s intelligence. So, I told the receptionist i was headed to Renton for a second opinion. As I turned and left, I half expected to her her exclaim “don’t you love your dog” or some such guilt ridden final word. In conclusion, The BluePearl Pet Hospital in Renton, saw Fred and after a consultation with a pet poison control hotline, declared he had not ingested enough to even come close to a lethal dose. Fred is now resting comfortably in his owners bed. Thank you for reading.

3 month old Puppy was first diagnosed with cancer, then obstructed bowel, then twisted intestine, then telescoping intestine with full blockage, oh wait, only a partial blockage. Then "I won't know until I get him opened up what is wrong." That was after $470.00 for an ultrasound. And 2 days extra stay so he could get that ultrasound. The worst money grubbers I have ever dealt with!

I have been taking my pets (many pets over many years) there since Dr. Passmore had his veterinary hospital there. When he retired, I transitioned to the new South Seattle Veterinary Hospital. I have been happy with how I and my pets have been treated. The biggest difference is that I can seek treatment there 24 hours a day for dogs and cats without a scheduled appointment. That’s great!

The front desk, has two, very rude women. They forgot to give me my medicine and also forgot to check me in or even acknowledge that I was present. I have never had such a horrible experience. It took a total of 1.15 mins to get my dog. It was ridiculous. They need training and some competency for their field. Update-11/08/2021 They are ignoring my calls, and my dog still needs his stitches out. Of course, the manager, never called back or returned my messages. Do not take your pets here!

I love this vet they have saved three of my dog's lives one from parvo, one from an obstruction caused by a bone that he ate and another who ended up getting mauled by a dog. They are a busy clinic so just keep in mind that it takes a while for them to call you about results but if you're curious or worried about your pets results you can always give them a call and ask.
