we were seeing Dr. Erich Spoor. I am extremely grateful for his service. I have a 12 yo dog with epilepsy and it got worse in a very strange and unusual way. Our regular vet could not do the diagnosis and sent us to the specialist. we …

We were told it will be 10 to 12 hours And we have to wait in the parking lot!!! Thank you for the response. It would have been nice to know there was a text to wait. BUT when I asked about coming back, I was told NO I couldn't, per POLICY I would have to wait in the parking lot in the cold.. Then I wad told I'm being snippy. We found a nice Vet, Angel Vet Hospital that took us in and very very friendly and helpful.

Veterinary Specialty Center was the only 24 hour vet that was responsive and friendly. They clearly communicated with me what was going on and when to expect to hear back. They did a great job and I would recommend this business.

I was hesitant to go here because of the mixed reviews. I came to the conclusion that it honestly depends on the situation. However, I had an AMAZING experience for our visit two days ago. My baby Tye (13 year old lab mix) was in need of an Ultrasound because he had really bad abdominal pain and our vet suspected liver masses. I was told to get to the hospital early around 6 or 7 in the morning to make sure Tye got checked in and was on the list to see the Radiologist whenever the doctor would be able to arrive. I did have to wait for the entire day and that was including the check in exam, waiting for the radiologist, and then discussing further steps or treatments. I did not mind the wait (even if it was all day) because my dog was not in need of emergency care and I was prepared to camp out in the parking lot for days. The staff could not have been more nice and helpful through this stressful process. While we were waiting for the Radiologist they allowed my dog to sit with me in the car after his check up was good. Those hours that we waited flew by because I was able to have my dog with me. Throughout the day if I had any questions the staff was always there to answer and even offered to let me use the bathroom because they knew I was waiting out there all day. The doctor in charge of Tye, I believe her name is Dr. Gomez, was above and beyond. She answered all my questions, provided lots of information, took amazing care of my Tye, and overall was just awesome throughout this experience. This place does not get the justice it deserves through these reviews. As I said before, it truly does depend on the situation and when it comes to our furry babies we all are willing to do anything for them. Currently we are still awaiting our results to see if Tye does have cancerous masses but I had to take time and write this review because I still cannot get over how great our experience was. Thank you Veterinary Speciality Center for your hard work and positive attitudes throughout these times!!

Every other health provider allows the human to come in to meet the doctor. It’s about time the vet industry does the same thing. This is getting crazy that I can’t come in with my pet. My pet can’t speak or advocate on their behalf. The vet industry needs to get back with allowing the human in with the animal for their appts. You wouldn’t just drop your kids off to someone you don’t know in a parking lot, would you? Or drop them off to see the doctor without being with your child? Do you go shopping for groceries or go to the store? Or do you just sit in the parking lot. COVID is now being used as an excuse to not allow the human any interaction with the doctor for an exam. It’s outrageous and pet parents need to take a stand.

Veterinary Specialty Center has now saved 2 of my elderly dogs from life threatening conditions. Years ago, I was referred for surgery with Dawg, who had a grapefruit sized tumor in her lung lobe. She underwent a lung lobectomy and spent a few days at VSC with a chest tube. With Dawg, I had pet insurance through Trupanion and VSC worked with them to take direct payment and I paid the remainder. It was convenient and Dawg lived for 2 more years after the surgery (which she was only given a year to 18 months). I am grateful for the extra time we got! Fast forward to this last year when my 14 year old pitbull was having trouble breathing. We brought her to VSC as she was suspected to have laryngeal paralysis and surgery would be in her future. When we went to the initial appointment, social distancing measures were in place which was appreciated. The doctor and technician went over everything and we left with a plan to do surgery in the near future, maybe get past the holidays and go from there. However, Howlie began to decline quickly making the surgery more urgent. The surgery coordinator was very responsive and they were able to squeeze Howlie in for tie back surgery 2 days later. While we did not have insurance for Howlie, we were able to use Care Credit to pay for the procedure. VSC used the internet for payment through our phones so there was no need to stop at a desk to help mitigate any spread of COVID which we appreciated. We are now 4 weeks past surgery and Howlie is doing so great. We appreciate all the care and great instruction VSC gave us to properly take care of our girl after her surgery. She was not even scared to go back for her recheck which surprised us as she is not a fan of the vet hospital in general. Anytime my pets need surgery, we will head up to VSC because they have our confidence and trust.

Meet Mato, who dies because of VSC Lynnwood Negligence. UNTRUSTWORTHY STAFF. UNETHICAL BUSINESS PRACTICES, UNKNOWLEDGABLE STAFF, POOR MEDICAL PRACTICES. --YOUR ANIMAL WILL DIE--- I was appalled at the care that this facility gave to this pup. I even spoke directly to the doctor, Dr Jeffery Douglas DVM in the office- While Kelsey Burrows was sitting in the room, I spoke to him on the phone myself. I have vetrinary background as well. I asked for SEVERAL tests to be performed on this animal. I asked how the doctor believed he had a misformed liver- but refused to perform diagnostic testing due to "failure to thrive". This pet was negligently treated, sent home WITHOUT care instructions. It took 3 SEPERATE calls to get the care instructions sent over. The office refused to provide any printed documents of vitals, tests that were done, or care instructions. Instead telling kelsey she would recieve all documents in her email in 30minutes. After over 2 hours of waiting and multiple calls there were still no instructions on how to care for this patient. After asking for him to be seen by several specialists, GI Doctors, extra neurologists- the vet literally said NO. I asked for him to be sent home with nutrical, along eith the door he was given in the hospital. A vet tech in the back said he was on "generic puppy food", the front desk said he was eating "purina pro plan", the night vet Mrs Megan Kanda said he was on royal canin. A quick switch of food on a 1.5 pound toy breed dog, can increase their chances of pancrearitis and spikes in blood sugar. ESPECIALLY IF THE PET CANT MAINTAIN THEIR OWN BLOODSUGAR! They wouldn't send food home, and Said they didn't even have nutrical but to use KAYRO SYRUP from the store. KAYRO SYRUP and NUTRICAL are entirely different products. And work different for a a struggling pup... Anyone in the vet field would never send a pet home without care instructions... Without being on a dextrose drip, this vet knew he was supposed to be fed MORE than every 4 hours. He ultimately died at home due to negligence of the vets. Let me also add FUNDS WERE NEVER AND HAVE NEVER BEEN AN ISSUE. This pup was followed by a large community, several rescues, and had a fighting chance. Funds were never an issue and we would have dumped thousands more into him... these vets just didn't want to do their job. I worked at VSC in Redmond- I assumed this company was knowledgeable- and I NEVER WILL RECOMMEND THIS OFFICE AGAIN." #vetnegligence #vscnegligebce #VeterinarySpecialistCenterofLynnwood #DrJefferyDouglas #VSC #BADVETS #dontrecommend

I had a specialty visit with an oncologist, Dr Hutchison (please forgive me if I spelled your name wrong) and everything went incredibly smoothly. From booking the appointment with a friendly and helpful front desk lady to a smooth curbside check in and great care. Their communication ahead of our appointment and then throughout the entire process really helped me understand and wrap my head around my dog's current condition and they were caring and informative in helping me make the best decision for my pet based on his quality of life and our family situation. I felt seen, heard, and cared for. Specialists aren't cheap but their prices were comparable to market prices and I felt like the value/care I got from our apt was worth every penny!

I called this morning because my dog has pain and redness in my dogs ear. I was told to come in at 9. When I arrived I was told my dog could not be seen because it’s not an emergency. My dogs been yelping since last night and now since turned away not sure what to do. Sad not even the vet can help.

This place isn't honest and it's seems like they want money, instead of getting your pet the RIGHT treatment. They say they care about your pet but if you are not willing to pay they don't care at all. When I came to visit with am emergency they started to recommend me to do testing that had nothing to do with the emergency. I had to convince them to talk honestly to me, and after they were honest the testing that was recommended the doctor didn't think it would have helped my pet.

My dog died because they didn't help when I brought him in there this morning. And then they charge me for doing cpr on a dead dog, 200$. I would never trust this fraudulent place with your furry family.

In the past I could say nothing but positive things about VSC. The docs diagnosed anemia and performed a blood transfusion saving my boy. Unfortunately, the doctors and staff are no longer the same since then. My 14 year old boy, a larger than normal Toy Manchester Terrier, was misdiagnosed by VSC’s ER in June 2021. I believed them even after taking him back a second time. I suspected he was having seizures but VSC diagnosed syncope related to his heart and kidney disease. I was told because he was alert and could recognize me after the episodes, it could not be seizures and that it was syncope. It was seizures. Had the correct diagnosis been made in the beginning of the ordeal that ended on July 10th, he potentially could still be alive. He would have been on anti-seizure medication for three weeks. But he wasn’t and I, ultimately, had to make the heart breaking decision to put him to sleep because of the severity and frequency of the seizures. I am calling out VSC for its incorrect diagnosis and inappropriate treatment of my boy. How they could not tell the difference between syncope and a seizure does not make sense to me. I want to make it perfectly clear that VSC acknowledged he had episodes while in their care both the first time which was a two night observation stay and second brief visit. I don’t know if the determination it was a syncope was made by tech or a doc. As a matter of fact, I know at least one of its techs did not care about my boy. June 21, when my boy was discharged from two nights of observation, I saw that uncaring attitude towards my boy first hand. While on the phone talking to VSC’s admin staff about the bill, I saw the tech drag my boy off the curb with him falling into the hospital’s driveway as she brought him to my car. She was clueless and completely uncaring when I called her out on what happened. I spoke with her manager two days later but nothing. I hung up the phone thinking these people don’t care. I will never go to VSC again. PERIOD!!! I would advise against it unless it is a last resort because of the lack of ER vets in our area.

My 4 yr old Lab Retriever started having some scary issues and I'm so happy I took him here! He's typically a highly anxious and reactive dog at the vet and they were so patient the whole process. One of the first places I have left feeling confident my dog was gonna be okay. Everyone was super nice and I couldn't have had a better experience!!

The lady on the phone was so rude she kept cutting me off mid sentence.. and saying your gonna have a 8 hour wait time until your pet will be seen by a vet… she was so rude and seemed irritated by my call meanwhile my dog is extremely sick, vomiting and diarrhea and I’m asking if I can come in for help and she just kept reminding me “ maam it’s gonna be up to 8 hours before your dog will be seen… I finally said I know Karen!! You’ve told me now 4 times!! So I just said okay thank you and hung up!! Don’t waste your time with this place!!!

Horrible place. My dog who had a large absence on his neck, had been on antibiotics for 4 days, was told a 10 hour wait to be seen. The infection spread to his face causing peri orbital cellulitis. His eye was swollen shut and had not eaten in 3 days. I was never called even after 15 hours of waiting. Thank god I was able to find someone to do the surgery. The service there is horrible. If you take your pet there, good luck.

I brought my cat here during an emergency and they were not only kind but empathetic with the situation. Within the day everything was back to normal and I'd highly recommend this vet ran by people who are passionate about what they do.

Something isn’t right about this place. When I brought my 5-year-old cat in for emergency care, I was convinced that I was taking her to the best place possible where she could receive the best care possible. I wanted to believe that for the massive price tag, she was getting amazing round-the-clock care from dedicated vets. The initial $2400 was promptly paid with the threat of withholding treatment until payment was complete. That didn’t raise my suspicion much at first because I can’t imagine how many people come to them for care, only to find out they can’t afford it. It’s their policy. Fine. But when my cat took a turn for the worst and we finally got to go inside to see her, I should have known then that she wouldn’t make it out alive. For such a massive building, their ICU is awfully crowded. There is rust on the doors and walls. I had hoped that for such a steep price tag, it would be a little nicer inside. That all being said, I do think that the vets and vet techs do their absolute professional best with what they have and I have to believe that my cat was in good hands. I know they did everything they could to save her. And when it was time to say goodbye, I could be by my sweet girl’s side, and the vet techs were very sympathetic and understanding. This would have been a four star review, but what happened next has done nothing but make me suspicious, bitter and resentful, and I absolutely can not recommend this company to anybody. The vet tech told me, “when you are ready to leave, it is ok, just go straight out the doors. You don’t need to talk to the front desk or anything like that. We understand.” But when I finally went to leave, this woman from the reception desk CHASED ME OUT THE DOOR, demanding immediate payment, throwing an invoice at me, saying it was their “policy.” It was HORRIBLE. It was so disturbing and such a lack of sympathy or understanding, and truly just basic communication with their other staff. Now I am doubting everything and regretting that I brought her to this awful place. I will always regret my decision to bring her here and not somewhere else, if she could have had better treatment someplace less crowded, somewhere less focused on maximizing their bottom line. I will truly never know if this company is genuinely doing the best for our beloved pets, or if they are taking advantage of desperate pet parents to squeeze every last cent out of them. Find somewhere else to bring your pet for emergency care.

They call themselves an animal hospital but won't see my pet when I have a legitimate emergency. Lady on the phone even gave me attitude after I told her I had already spoken to the poison control center and paid for the consult to confirm my animal needed help. Don't waste your time.

I made the mistake of taking my dog to Pilchuck first. They amputated his leg and couldn’t handle the post op. Luckily VSCS was willing to take him. They were fabulous and took great care of him. We were able to take him home. Unfortunately his wound was infected (we’ll always think it’s because Pilchuck lacked the proper hygiene) and eventually we had to say goodbye to him. VSCS helped us through that awful decision and process. The vets and all the people we met were fabulous. It was a sad goodbye but we felt better knowing that we had gotten him the best care we could at VSCS.

Mister Waggs received gold standard care during his stay with the neurology service at Veterinary Specialty Center of Seattle. Dr. Peterson arranged seamless consultations with other specialists including surgery and radiology, and together, an elusive diagnosis was identified. Communication at every juncture was excellent. Highly recommend this group of heroes!

Went in with a seizing 3 pound Chihuahua and it turned out to be low blood sugar, they suggested some home remedies that would help and provided him with a shot to help with the low blood sugar. Then they told us that if we can't afford additional testing then we might as well drop him off at a shelter. I don't care what the situation is - If you are a medical professional, you do not ever say that to a Pet parent. I'm disgusted by how unprofessional someone could be at such an emotionally tumultuous time. You should rethink your career. Very disappointed that this is the closest emergency vet to me.

Would highly recommend the service here. Dr Boyle and staff were all outstanding in our time of need.I feel they went above and beyond expectations. In the care of Bella Mae. Made her as comfortable as could be in under the conditions. No regrets very detail oriented and genuinely care for the pets.

The best Vet experience I’ve ever had. My dog was having seizures and they not only helped calm me and my dog but worked with me on affordable options. I felt like they genuinely cared and weren’t just trying to take my money. Dr. Williams treated me with kindness and respect in a time where I needed it most. Thanks to the entire staff.

Dr. Gonzales is the best, most caring veterinarian I have ever known. She and her team brought Murdock (12 1/2 yr old lab) back from a certain death! I would highly recommend them. My family will always be grateful to her. She went beyond the call. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Murtz is full of love and affection!

I had to take my Australian Shepard here in the middle of the night. He was old and not able to stand up and once I explained my situation to them they were able to take care of him straight away. The vet was very professional and walked us through what was going to happen with him being euthanized. All the staff were more than compassionate about the situation and made a difficult decision as bearable as possible.
