We can't say enough about Julie, so we will focus on the impact to our lives since we had a session with her. Our anxious rescue dog was exhibiting signs of separation anxiety to the point of impacting our lives. We tried everything - and failed. Julie was able to observe our dog and provide us with specific techniques and practical applications that were specific to our dog. The results were amazing, and amazingly quick. Her ability to listen to our concerns first and foremost, assess the situation and then help us with a realistic plan is exactly what we needed to establish a healthy, happy relationship with our new family member - and he's a much more confident, less anxious, happy dog as a result. Thank you, Julie!

I can't say enough good things about our experience with Darcie at Sensitive Dog. My two dogs have always been sweet, but very "enthusiastic" with visitors, on leash, and in exciting new places. I was worried that their challenging behavior would make it harder for me to give them the happy and fulfilling life they deserve. Enter Darcie, who took the time to get to know me and each of my dogs on an individual level. I had tried many other training programs before with little success (Board & Train, Bark Busters, Lucky Dog, to name a few) but each was too formulaic and didn't take into account my dogs' personalities. When the standard program wasn't quite right for us, Darcie went above and beyond to come up with a new plan so that we could fix the issues that were most impactful (for us, leash walking, recall, and greeting visitors). By the end of our program, she felt like part of the pack and I could tell she really cared about my dogs and wanted what was best for them. Since the program has ended, I've been able to do so many more things with the pups. From walks in crowded areas to off-leash adventures, we are spending more time together and I have much less dog-mom guilt. We are still working on some skills but I feel confident that Darcie gave us the tools and learning we need to get there. If you are on the fence about working with Sensitive Dog, please do not hesitate. They are the best around.

Darci and Julie are fantastic trainers and most importantly, help owners become better trained and in-sync with their four-legged friends. Would highly recommend if you care about having a well mannered dog. Thank you so much!

It's been about a year and a half since we took our pup to train with Darci and Julie, and I still get amazed. We were desperate when we took our girl to Sensitive Dog, she thought "come" meant a game of "catch me if you can", there were times she would throw herself on the floor in a full blown tantrum complete with high pitched wails, if she didn't want to do something, it was really embarrassing and hard to deal with, but mostly during typical training exercises, like "down" and such, she would show signs of aggression and growl and make to bite me by putting her mouth on my hand, it scared me. Since being trained by Darci and Julie she is like a different dog, recently she had an ear infection and it just amazed me how she handled it, even though she didn't really like it, she would sit while my husband put an arm around her (impossible before) and I put the drops in, no growling, no resistance, no biting. She is so sweet now, and always, always comes when called. Darcie and Julie at Sensitive Dog really turned her around, from a dog that could have become a frustrating handful, to a loving, spunky, well behaved pup and we are grateful everyday that we made the choice to seek their help, it was well worth it, now the time we have to spend with our girl will not be an exhausting challenge everyday, but a fun adventure we look forward to.

Giving Sensitive Dog 5/5 stars! We are first time dog owners and brought our 8 week old Shiba Inu (Eevee) to Julie to start training right away. Many dog owners are aware that Shibas can be difficult to train and require positive and consistent training early on which is why we chose Sensitive Dog. Julie helped set us up for success! We went over the basics but also any concerns we had. Eevee is very confident and an excitable pup. Each week was tailored to what Eevee was experiencing or having difficulty with. She helped ease the process of crate training, potty training, introducing her to our cats, getting her comfortable in her new home, leash training, riding in the car, commands, introducing to other dogs and more. I would highly recommend the personal training sessions to anyone with a new puppy! I looked forward to seeing Julie each week and so did Eevee. As Eevee grows and her personality changes, I will definitely be back for refresher sessions down the road. Thank you Julie!

We were Jaxon's 2nd home. Sadly he had confidence and trust issues. Darcie taught us how to earn and build Jaxon's trust and confidence in us and his new home. He is one big love bug that comes when called. Can't thank Sensitive Dog enough.

Julie worked wonders for my one year old Malinois. I'd worked with three dog trainers before my vet referred me to sensitive dog and I really was not optimistic that Biscuit would ever be any different. After just the first session I saw a huge improvement in her behavior and knew exactly what to do in the tough situations. They understand dogs really well and focus on the specific issues that impact your life with your dog. I feel like I know how to communicate with my dog now. Absolutely recommend!!

Julie and Darcie helped me keep my dog Maisie. After adopting her, we went to the vet and she showed extreme reactivity to other dogs and staff. The vet, who was familiar with the significant challenges with my previous dog- despite 4 …

Our pit-mix rescue dog, Ocho, was somewhat well-behaved prior to our 7-week program with Darcie. He could obey a handful of simple commands, but only indoors and without distraction. His biggest issue was his recall. Multiple times we tried working with him off leash at a nearby field, and he bolted off, not listening to our commands to return. Any dog owner who has experienced this knows how scary (and frustrating) it can be. After meeting with Julie for a consultation (and watching the magic of “nose work” exhaust our dog in less than 15 min), we were convinced that Julie and Darcie understood dogs in a way that some dog trainers simply...don’t. The initial price tag of the program had us hemming and hawing, and we almost decided not to move forward because it was “too expensive”. Thank GOD we didn’t give up, because our lives are completely changed. Ocho is so much happier, more confident, and attentive. You can tell his brain is “on” now, and he’s always got one eye/ear towards us to listen to commands. His recall is UNREAL – I can even get him to come to me at the dog park, where he’s the most distracted. This program was worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY. We honestly can’t recommend Darcie and Julie enough. We understand our dog (and dogs in general) so much more than we ever thought we could. Our relationship with Ocho is stronger than ever, and we’ve made new friends in the process :)

My experience with Julie was wonderful! After one phone consultation, I felt so much better about how to manage my older dog that was dealing with some new anxiety. She was thoughtful and incredibly knowledgeable, and gave me so many great resources to utilize, from training techniques to recommendations for supplements and what to discuss with my vet. She validated my concerns and clearly has a ton of experience working with many other situations that were just like mine. She is clearly an expert in her field, and I will not hesitate to contact Julie again! Highly recommend!

Sensitive Dog is the absolute best! After working unsuccessfully with another trainer, Darcie and Julie took the time to understand why our dog Luna was reactive on leash. Most importantly, they taught us how to communicate with our dog using gentle consequences and positive reinforcement. We now walk around our neighborhood with a happy dog on a loose leash. We couldn’t be happier with our results!

Julie and Darcie were a godsend for us. I can't imagine what we would have done without their professionalism, sensitivity, and expertise--all of which served our family (including our sweet puppy, Romeo) so well. Darcie is an aggressive dog specialist and was so poised, compassionate, and skillful with our dog, and was able to train his humans (us!) to handle him similarly. At every step of the way, Sensitive Dog was our ally--Julie and Darcie truly went out of their way for us at every step of the process. We cannot recommend them highly enough.
