Do not come here. You’re better off elsewhere. The receptionist and nurses were kind but Dr Megan Davis was so incredibly rude and we felt almost racially and financially discriminated. She kept yelling at us when we were trying to find help for our dog, saying our only choice was to put him down and when we tried to take him home and go elsewhere she threatened to call animal control on us as she condescended us. I’ve never had to beg while sobbing to a doctor for help or to get my dog back. Yes our dog is in awful condition, that’s why we’re seeking help. We’ve never felt more helpless, discriminated against. There needs to be more DVMs who are understanding of situations. So what if someone was financially insecure and couldn’t get care for their beloved dog, but is now seeking help? We love our dog. She made it seem like we were monsters.

We had a pet emergency recently, and every single person we dealt with was empethetic, kind and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable during that stressful time. It was a great experience considering the circumstances. Power user hint: they have their own parking garage, don't bother parking across the street!

They are rude and will take as much money from you as they can, then bend you over and take more. Really a bunch of awful nasty people.

Great staff, when I first got in there was one employee on reception and a lot going on and she handled it all very well. The wait time was 4-5 hours and during that time saw client communication. Professional and compassionate to owners. Waited 3 hours and was seen. Tech that checked us in was great, waited about 15 minutes and was seen by Dr. Davis. Very straight to the point, answered questions and kind. Only thing that could improve is communication about what was going on with my pup between reception to tech to doctor. I know it’s very stressful to work in the vet field during COVID. What you all do is amazing, and I appreciate all of your hard work.

Maybe don't tell people to come in and then turn them away when they come for an emergency because they’re “done for the night??” THE DOCTOR answered the phone and the receptionist decided not to see us? What kind of disgusting pet care is this? After I drove for an hour to be here, my pet is in pain and now I can’t even come in. Worst hospital, ever. Edited to add that my pet DIED that same night

My almost 8 year old dog was having some GI issues due to being a non discriminatory eater (when will they learn) and I rushed over to this clinic which was the only one out of 5 that I called who had the availability to see him. We were quoted a long wait but were seen very quickly upon arrival. Everyone we met was so nice from the receptionists (one came over to say hello to us as we waited), the vet techs, and the vets on-site! We were there twice in 24 hours - first for the initial visit and then again for the follow up ultrasound to confirm if surgery would be required. Everyone was very empathetic and kind and walked me through all the possibilities of what could happen in my dogs case and even referred me to a more affordable clinic for the much needed surgery. Emergency pet situations are never easy and can often feel like you are being led to make decisions that are less cost effective for you as a pet parent and more of a money making decision for the clinic. I didn’t feel that once and am so thankfully we ended up here.

Very bad customer service when I called in asking for availability, not answering my questions at all but say ‘we are at full capacity now’. My pet has an emergency with blood situation and she didn’t even care about asking. BAD SERVICE.

Front desk staff were very courteous! The vet tech was thorough and so sweet to my pet as well. However, the process regarding intake/initial examination and when I would be brought into a room and when my pet would be brought back was very confusing. When the vet came in to talk to me about the diagnosis and next steps, my pet was not brought with them. They also weren’t clear about what they did during the examination. They did not ask me questions about previous history and made a lot of assumptions and accusations based on those wrong assumptions. They left without explanation of what I was to do next or when I would be brought my pet. I’m hoping they were just having a bad day and I’m sure they are a great veterinarian, but IF I needed to go back to this clinic for emergency care again I would request to not interact with this person.

Although they were very busy in the middle of a Thurs night, they did a good job letting me know where I was in the line. They were up front about the wait time. They were very kind to my sick dog, and took good care of him.. The pricing was reasonable. I really appreciate being able to be waiting inside in the waiting room with my dog, rather than stuck outside in my car. I would definitely recommend them if your pet needs emergency care during off hours.

After calling and being refused at many emergency vets in the middle of the night we finally called Blue Pearl (we were hoping to find somewhere a bit closer to home), so glad we did! The receptionist was beyond compassionate and understanding (even at 2am) and our pup was seen and sent home in less time than any of the wait times at other emergency rooms. With Covid, I understand that vets are short staffed, but as a pet owner and an owner of a pet business myself, being compassionate and helping others is also crucial. Thank you so much Blue Pearl/SVS!

Amazing doctors. Very kind and patient. Explained everything in detail of what was going on with our cat. Willing to answer any and all questions. They made a stressful time a little easier. Clean environment. They come through every so often to clean all the surfaces.

Thank you so much to the team(s) that worked 7/17, 7/18, 7/18, 7/19 and 7/20 while my cat was hospitalized for an unknown gastrointestinal issue/illness. The ER was slammed, and despise having so many patients to triage and tend to, you all made sure my cat (and everyone else) received the best he could and kept me updated as to his prognosis. I’m so appreciative of all that was done for him.

Specialized expertise plus emergency clinic. Dedicated parking next to the clinic entrance on 8th St (just inside the garage entrance) -- IGNORE Google Maps telling you to enter on Madison St. -- entrance is in garage

Informative, knowledgeable, friendly, people here. You would think they would nickle and dime you, but they actually saved me $400. Thought my dogs legs was dislocated, doctor thought other wise. 6 days later my dog is walking like normal. Thank you SVS

I took my cat here after he suffered a fall and was unable to bear weight on one leg. They gave him a huge amount of sedatives, got multiple x-rays, and consulted with an orthopedic provider but still could not explain why he was limping. They put him in a splint. Four days later I received a call that the radiologist reviewed the images and found a bad fracture of the femur neck and that the splint they placed was likely making it worse. I obviously took him elsewhere for his surgery and the Ortho provider there said the only way a surgeon could miss that fracture is if they didn't look at the x-rays. Go elsewhere.

I called with a dental emergency; my dogs upper left canine tooth was in bad shape and poorly rooted — it needed to be extracted and I didn’t think I could wait the four weeks until our regular annual teeth cleaning. I was informed by SVS that this was not in fact an emergency and that the best they could do was schedule me 75 days out. For an industry that primarily deals in cash payments, this is certainly “changing lives through remarkable health care” indeed.

My Cat Zorro had an emergency. Started here SVS/BluePearl, then Urban, who got him in quickly and started procedures. FYI - This is an ER/Specialist - they are pricier than a traditional and/or walk-in vet clinic. However, they were incredibly helpful with information, and getting connected to Urban Animals on the Hill. The Dr was great, the techs were so kind. Ended up bringing Zorro back here for overnight observation. I felt very comfortable with everyone here and safe with my cat.
