This was the very best Best Vet I have ever used

I have had 4 senior cats under their care for the past 6+ years. They have been so helpful in helping them with their health issues and, eventually, when the time was right, in crossing the rainbow bridge. Dr. Goldthwaite and Dr. Rozensteine have been compassionate, kind, professional, and understanding when discussion treatment options.

The staff here is extremely nice and are always very helpful. I feel Ike the vet has been my second home recently and they are always able to make time to see my cats or puppy when something is wrong. I recently moved further away but think the longer drive is well worth it for this vet :)

Friendly and responsive front office staff. Referred us to another clinic to ensure prompt care for our pup when they were booked.

Super caring, were able to see our cat right away on very little notice. Also, loved that the vet followed up with us 48 hours to see how our cat was doing. Wonderful staff!!!

-- Edited in response to the owner's follow up -- It took you two years to respond to a negative review? That should tell you a lot about the experience I had. I chose not to explain the experience here as it felt too raw at the time. However, as your response has brought it all back, and I have some distance from it, I am happy to elaborate. We brought our dog in to have a lump on her paw examined. Biopsy indicated cancer and the vet recommended removing the tumor. We spent a lot of time clarifying which vet would be doing the surgery and making sure we were comfortable with them, and they felt confident about doing the procedure. Day of the surgery, another vet performed the procedure. Something we were not told about until I went to pickup our dog. He spent a lot of time informing me how difficult the procedure was and that he had done the best that he could. Didn't leave me with a lot of confidence. We came back two days later for the follow-up with a different vet. I could tell from the moment they started to remove the bandage, and the smell hit me, that it was infected. The vet said that the stiches were too tight, and they needed to be removed to restore blood flow. However, we would need to have the dressing changed daily, while we tested to determine what was causing the infection. We agreed to this. The following day, my wife took the dog in to get the dressing changed. She met with the vet who performed the procedure, who insisted that it wasn't an infection and it was healing as expected. He was so insistent that he followed my wife out of the practice as she tried to leave, repeating to her that it wasn't infected. My wife was so upset with this interaction that I would be the one bringing the dog in for dressing changes after that. The daily dressing changes continued for a week, the cause of the infection was identified and we started on antibiotics. Each day, we would see a different vet, who would change the dressing and insist that everything was fine and the wound was healing. After a week we decided to take the dog to Blue Pearl for a consult. After hearing the background, the vet there removed the bandages to inspect the wound. What she found was so bad, she wanted to show us pictures so we could understand why we had little hope of saving our dog's paw. There was no flesh left. It was down to the bone. All of the nerves were gone. Our dog ended up with a partial amputation, but thanks to the amazing staff at Blue Pearl, and the person who made her prosthetic, we now have a healthy/happy tripawed. Either the vets at your practice were so incompetent they couldn't tell that the wound wasn't getting better. Or, they were so happy for us to come in and pay for a dressing change daily (that wasn't helping our dog recover). Either way, I wouldn't trust them to administer worm treatment to a hamster , and I would strongly encourage others not to trust them either. As for the "vet" who "did his best" and "it wasn't an infection". I realize you work with animals and your inability to interact with their owners reflects that. Honestly though, the animals deserve better than you. To the owner, taking two years the respond to a negative review. Hiring this type of staff in the first place. This smells like you trying to cleanup your social media presence, and I have no desire to interact with you. The front desk staff were nice and polite. I hope they are doing well.

My dog has been lucky enough to see Dr. Goldwaithe for 5+ years — she’s seen him through several surgeries and some serious illnesses. I can honestly say, in his 14 years of life, no Vet has cared more about my dog. Thank you!

We’ve been taking our dog to Madison Street since day 1 with her puppy vaccines and wellness check, until recently with her spay procedure as well! Everyone is so friendly, knowledgeable and most importantly, takes the time to answer all the questions that a nervous owner could possibly have. They always send you a reminder before an appointment and a follow up email afterwards, which I appreciate a lot. Thank you Dr. Goldthwaite and the rest of the amazing staff for taking such a good care of Danni! :)

Just moved to Seattle and took my puppy here to get neutered. I loved them!!!! They were all so nice and clear with communication. Murphy wasn't scared to walk in either which is always a plus.

My dog and I love Madison Street Animal Hospital. Dr. Bonnie Goldthwaite is amazing and really knows her stuff. They always make time for you and your pet. They are also really good at getting you in quickly. They are also open Saturday and Sundays which is amazing. I love that it is a hospital too so they are equipped to handle emergencies when they come up. Pricing is reasonable. Thanks for taking such good care of Roo!

I switched to Madison St Animal Hospital after terrible experiences at Urban Animal. I couldn't be happier. Support staff are extremely responsive to phone calls or emails. The vet techs are great with my nervous senior dog. Dr Goldthwaite has been the primary vet for my dog and she has been very thorough, knowledgeable, and compassionate during all of our visits. I couldn't recommend this place enough!

When I moved from Dallas to Seattle, I went to a couple of other vets and was very disappointed. Then I found Madison Street Animal Hospital. The front office staff, the vet techs, and the doctors are all first class. They are very gentle with my cats, very knowledgeable, and they have excellent facilities and equipment. The office is clean, and while they aren't cheap, you get what you pay for, and when dealing with care for my animals, getting a bargain isn't my first objective. Updated several years later: One of my cats had a chronic kidney disease. Their treatment plan kept him healthy and happy for many years. But at the end he started to decline rapidly. Dr. Goldthwaite and the rest of the doctors and staff did everything they could. We all decided that we should give him every possible chance and we did they worked really really hard. When it became clear that they weren’t going to be able to get him back to normal they were super compassionate and sat and cried with me. After everything was done they took the time to send a card that everybody had signed and left a little reminiscence about my cat in. That’s the kind of people they are I just can’t say enough good things about Madison Street.

I originally began bringing my cat to Madison Street because it was the closest vet office, but continue to go there even after I've moved because their staff is always very friendly, both to me and my cat, they are very upfront about pricing, do not try and pressure you or guilt you into paying for tests or procedures you can't afford, and make recommendations without judgement. Would recommend without hesitation.

We've been bringing our Lhasa Apso here for over 10 years and I always feel he's well cared for. The staff are polite and is always happy to see him, and I feel they genuinely have my dog's best interests at heart.

Would not recommend for cats. I brought my cat in for a wellness check and it is during phase 2 of the pandemic reopening so we all have to mask up but I could accompany my cat inside. The front desk staff only put on a mask after I was already at the desk and I did not feel safe. Pets can contract covid19 and I have no idea how many patients they've been in close contact with. The vet tech weighed my cat and seemed competent, but my cat hid after the tech left. The vet came in loudly and stressed him out more while trying to get him out. She tried picking him up, a treats I brought, then threw a feliway scented blanket on him and that did not work. That really stressed him out as she tried the blanket twice to the same amount of hissing each time. She decided we needed to reschedule to another time when I could sedate him before, which is fine. However I thought she seemed rushed and was not patient with him and showed even less understanding of how to calm or manage a nervous cat than I as a new cat parent. The front desk person again wasn't masked until they got close to me and settled my bill for the sedatives but didn't reschedule me, I don't think they knew what the vet had decided. The vet techs worked some miracle and got my cat back into his carrier so some people can do their job. At the risk of dealing with your cat taking out their stress on you when you're home... I would not recommend.

A lovely team of people who all truly care about your pet’s wellbeing. I really appreciate how the front desk staff has been able to fit us into their schedule for an immediate concerns we’ve had with our kitty, and how our vet called and emailed to follow up on how he was doing later in the week. Thank you for the excellent care!!
