Great experience with this place overall,. They're the only 24/7 vet in the northern Seattle area (that I know of). They took excellent care of my pup, were responsive to my questions, and presented multiple options to me for care (with pros and cons and pricing). One weird thing is that they made me sit outside in my car, in December, for 2+ hours while he was evaluated, even though I live just 5 minutes away. Also, at this stage, every other business (including hospitals) are okay with people sitting inside with masks on, so I think this policy is a bit outdated. They also said it might be a 4-6 hour wait, but it only ended up being 2 thankfully (but still a drastic difference). Overall, they provided great care and were extremely pleasant to deal with, so I'd go back.

Really don't know how to put into words how helpful and thoughtful they are. Truly considerate, I cannot thank them enough

I drove all the way here because my cat could be dying a day they turned me away because I tested positive for COVID-19. My baby could die because of these people. Don't come here.

Your front desk staff is rude and dismissive. You may be at capacity but someone trying to bring their sick pet in to see a doctor is someone that cares about their animal. With the rates that you charge for service, pay a higher wage to your front desk staff so that they don't behave like angry, parsimonious ministers wives who feel like they are talking down to stupid children.

It’s taken me awhile to write this because my cat sadly passed away but it was something that couldn’t be helped. Dr. Burnett was such a comforting and kind person and was very communicative throughout all of the treatment. When he came in to put my cat down I could tell he had treated her well by how trusting she was with him. If it had to happen like it did, I’m glad it was with this vet.

From the vet techs to the doctor this place was outstanding! Dr. Burnett treated both of my dogs today. An unfortunate situation turned out to be just fine with the incredible care that was given. The techs were kind, caring, understanding of my nervousness. Dr. Burnett was informative, took time with me and loved my pups back to health. Thank you ECEC!

Everyone here was incredibly kind, patient, knowledge and compassionate. My cat had a urinary obstruction and had to be hospitalized for 3 days, and they took amazing care of him. The people who work here are angels, they were so comforting both to me and my cat while he was in their care. They gave me thorough and frequent updates and answered all of my questions. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who needs emergency pet care.

My daughter’s dog was vomiting and shaking for about 12 hours, so she took her to this vet. The staff seemed caring and my daughter was satisfied with their thorough diagnosis. The vet couldn’t feel any intestinal blockage with external palpitations, so they asked my daughter whether they could do an x-ray. Fortunately, there was no blockage so the dog will be fine. The dog was sent home with three types of anti-nausea meds. The service seemed exemplary. The bill was $1000 which was a shock. My daughter is a young adult for whom that is nearly a month’s rent. It would have been preferable if the vet had mentioned costs up front to give my daughter the option of weighing alternatives, like driving farther to her regular vet. Maybe that one would have been equally expensive, but it’s hard to imagine that is the case. I would not recommend this vet unless it’s off-hours or if the cost will have no meaningful impact.

I showed up with my roommates cat who has been scratching, making himself bleed from some what looks like skin infection and who has been throwing up everyday only to be turned away by the Vet because he is “not sick enough”. What’s a 24 Hour Vet Hospital doing if not taking sick animals? I asked if they could reconsider and I’ll pay whatever to have him seen and was repeatedly told no. They gave one option to go take him in and when I told her I already contacted that Vet was just given a shrug and awkward silence. Do not support this business. They’re not here for their community or your animal.

A huge thank you to the staff here. I ended up having to leave my cat here over night for 3 days due to lily exposure, and it was heart wrenching to leave him there. But, even though this place was insanely busy, and I imagine highly stressed, they were so friendly, and so, so incredibly caring at every single interaction I had with them. So grateful for their care, my boy is now home, happy and healthy. I will also say, that they did also provide me with an estimate for his 2-3 night stay that had a minimum and maximum expected estimate. The total cost came in just about in the middle, and a little closer to the lower end actually. I will agree with other reviews that response times back to me weren't always speedy, but I had absolutely ZERO issue with that since 3 other emergency clinics turned me away due to capacity, and there was a line of 4 other patients behind me when I checked in. As an overloaded busy person myself, I understand people can only do so much at any given moment.

Had to take our cat in because he's dumb and ate his toy. The staff was very friendly and communicative and took care of our cat with urgency and as soon as possible and we were able to take him back home in just a few short hours all better. Happy to have this friendly and very capable clinic close to home!

Tried to take my dog in for an emergency and the lady who answered the phone was rude and told me there’s plenty of other emergency hospitals around. I explained that I already called and she said oh well, we’re at capacity. I’ll never take my dogs here or recommend them.

My wife took her animal into his clinic after having a large object fall on it and they were rude turns her away have no sense of a Hippocratic oath and wouldn't even let her use the phone to call me to pick her up at 10:00 at night. These people don't care about the animals they care about the money and only see cats or dogs. When's the last time you met a vet that only practiced or for that matter went to school for just cats and dogs? These people have no sense of compassion

My dog needed wound cleaning and stitches after being bitten by another dog. Staff were really nice and thorough with communication throughout the whole process. Clients (humans) are not allowed inside the clinic due to maintaining safety during Covid and with their thorough communication, I felt confident my dog would be well taken care of. Aftercare instructions were clear, prescription meds aligned with my senior dog’s pre-existing conditions, and overall cost was actually cheaper than I expected given this happened on a Sunday. While I hope no one needs to bring their pet to an emergency clinic, I highly recommend this place.

Terrible support here. Person who was the front desk support was both curt and rude to us. They made us feel like our dogs needs were an inconvenience and wanted us to jump through multiple hoops and take him elsewhere without clear expectations or support. I will never bring an animal here again. They do not seem to understand what emergency means.

I’m surprised by some of the negative reviews this place has received. I’ve been here a few times now with my rescue and they have been nothing but nice and communicative and patient. Just last night I had to run my dog up there around 9:00 pm because her ear continued to bleed from being bitten earlier in the day. They said it would be about 2-4 hours before she gets seen. The vet called me about 3 hours later to go over the diagnosis, what the planned treatment was going to be and provided an estimate of cost. They were done earlier than expected and the cost was under what their estimate was. And everyone I’ve interacted with here has always been nice. Keep it up!

The absolute worst. Everyone is extremely rude, manipulative and condescending, including and especially the vet. If they weren't the only emergency vet near me I would never go back. The bill, as others have noted, is typically several times what they quote when you bring your pet in, and if you don't authorize treatment without contacting you first (in other words, if they need their approval to make money off your pet's distress) they ignore your pet. When I brought my cat in, I was told it would be 4-6 hours. 8 hours later when I called, the vet tried to shame me for not letting them give my cat pain meds without speaking to me first, but when I pointed out that no one had called to ask, they stammered out some garbage about how they were calling now (they weren't, I called them). They then were very condescending when discussing his care and the costs associated, saying that they had many other pets and owners that they had to call and they were doing me a favor by speaking with me, even though so many people were waiting - mind you, I waited until TWICE the estimated wait time had passed before calling. Absolutely the worst vet, emergency or otherwise, I've ever interacted with in my 15+ years of pet ownership. If you must bring your pet here, be prepared for rude, manipulative, classist behavior from everyone you speak with, and also an exorbitant bill.

Took my cat in on Friday night around 5pm due to an acute distended stomach with lethargy and lack of appetite. The initial estimate was just under $1500 for X-rays and supplemental oxygen and an overnight stay. So far, nothing seemed problematic and the vet that night talked to me about my concerns regarding my cat’s condition. But, the next morning this establishment’s true colors began to show. I got a call that morning that he was ready to be released, as they claimed he was eating well and no longer needed supplemental oxygen. However, the radiologist had still not gone over his x-rays. I had to call them to even receive the results (that I paid for!) and had to call again to actually have the vet go over them. The issue, according to x-rays, was a buildup of gas that due to a lack of stomach motility my cat couldn’t pass. This condition requires hospitalization for IV fluids. I questioned why my cat was released without the results of his x-rays and they told me they needed the space for medical emergencies, which they had just told me my cat’s condition qualified for, and that they weren’t at capacity that day. I decided to wait till morning to see if it would pass on it’s own and the vet assured me this would be fine. That Sunday morning, my cat still wasn’t eating nor was he passing anything out of his stomach. Emerald City Clinic took him back in around noon and didn’t get back to me until almost 4:30. At that point, they expected me to pay at least $2800 to begin treatment and do another round of x-rays. At this point their ethically challenged behaviour revealed a predation that made me quite uncomfortable and unwilling to continue my cat’s treatment with them. It felt as though they wanted an opportunity to charge me more, and that is why they released him. They were the only available clinic in the area and they knew I had already exhausted my other options. And, I doubt their account that my cat ate at all on Saturday morning, as he had completely refused his regular food at home. If he had not been released Saturday until after the x-rays were examined, they could have given him treatment that day. They also should have ran blood tests to help diagnose the issue. I would never recommend this vet after this experience, and found the whole experience to be predatory and unprofessional. I realize the strain Covid has had on this industry, but, working in the service industry where much more professionality is required to serve food and wait tables, I would have expected much more from people caring for sick and dying pets. The inconsistent communication was especially frustrating. If you have any other options, take your pet elsewhere.

These vets and staff literally saved my dogs life. Due to her long stay at the facility we had the chance to speak to (I believe) every vet that works there - day and night. Every one of them I would trust with my dog any day. The staff is the most professional, knowledgeable, and personable vet staff I’ve visited. Even with the countless complications my dog had they were able to give her the best care possible. I cannot recommend them enough! B (and myself) are forever grateful (-:

Just tried to bring my dog in for what my wife and I thought was a very serious issue. Otherwise we wouldn’t be going to an emergency vet to pay inflated weekend rates. The door was locked so we called. Someone answered and asked (over the phone) what the issue was. When we tried to explain we were told it wasn’t a serious enough issue and we were turned away. Now no one actually saw my dog, they have no idea the severity, because again THEY NEVER LAID EYES ON HIM. However, this vet clinic can tell you your dog is fine without ever looking even physically looking at your pet. I do really appreciate this response though. Being someone who recently moved to town I now know where not to take my dog.

Took my dog there for an emergency was told to call before coming (not stated on their website). They turned me back from the door saying they were full and try the next day. If it wasnt an emergency I wouldnt be there on a Sunday evening!

We took our dog here because she swallowed a peach pit. They got us in very quickly and were able to recover the pit through induced vomiting. Dr. Burnett was extremely professional and reassuring in a very stressful situation for us as owners. We were so appreciative of his calming manner and optimism for our dog. While we don't hope to come back here, we wouldn't hesitate to bring our dogs back if we were ever in an emergent situation again.

The doctor here are not qualified to do the surgery and they charge me almost 2000 dockers only for simple emergency dealing like x-ray and bandage WITHOUT SURGERY. And even though they gives me an estimate of 800$ in the phone, the final billing still surprise me. I need to send my cat to another clinic for surgery and I almost waste money here.

I took one of my cats here after he had a strong reaction to a medication. I interacted directly with several different members of the staff, and everyone I spoke to was a very friendly, knowledgeable, efficient, and clear communicator. They all made it easy to understand what was happening to my cat, how they wanted to respond to it, and what to expect in the future. The team took the time to listen to my cat’s complete medical history and ensure they were correctly diagnosing and treating the issue. I also felt like they were sensitive to how stressful the issue was for both me and my cat - several of the people working there took the time to keep my cat company while he was recuperating, and they were patient and kind with me when I called for updates. They also made sure to reach out to me regularly, too. The services are very expensive, but I understand this as part of the cost it takes to run an emergency medical clinic - my cat was able to be seen immediately (less than half an hour from when I began my first phone call to them to tell them about the health issue), and they were well-prepared to help him in anyway necessary. If another one of my pets has a medical emergency, I will take them here without hesitation. Thank you!

Can't thank the team at Emerald City Emergency Clinic enough for the amazing care they gave my dog, Bowie, during his stay. The entire staff was extremely friendly and professional and made me feel like my pup was in excellent hands during a stressful situation.

Took my cat here today. Overall pleased with the services provided but a little shocked when I received the bill. Was told directly by the veterinarian over the phone it should cost $180-$200. Total bill was nearly $800. Obviously, a bill is a bill so it was paid without question. Not sure where the discrepancy of the front desk was with the veterinarian on duty, but might want to communicate better between the two.

We've had to bring our little old chiweenie in a couple times over night for stuff that was pretty scary for us. Dr. Mullins was our doctor both times and she is just so warm and calming. She took time to answer any questions we had on the phone (this was all during covid so we were anxious about not being able to stick around) and made sure we understood everything. She made us feel safe and let us know our dog was cozy and and being well taken care of. Everyone else we've talked to has also been so kind and helpful and made some of the scariest times feel less awful.

I brought my little Chihuahua in yesterday because her groomer found a loose tooth when brushing her teeth. Come to find out they didn’t see dogs for dental emergencies, but they made an exception! After quoting 2 to 4 hours wait, they called me back in 90 minutes recommending my dog get an appointment at our regular vet to have the tooth extracted and a cleaning too so she wouldn’t be under anesthetic twice and since it wasn’t acute and giving her pain. I agreed and went back there to pick her up. To my surprise, they didn’t even charge me! I was so grateful as I’d had a rough week after my Mother’s passing. They didn’t know that. I do recommend them!!
