My dog is not good for the day care. It’s great to watch all those happy dogs play. Woof!

am very angry about this place! If you care about your dogs then don't pick this place because if anything happens the only thing their manager will do is to play the balme game and imply that you are faking the injury and try to get money from them. My pup's nails are bleeding after the daycare. I did not notice it up front when I picked him up from the dog lounge. But when I got back home, I found his nails not only bleeding but also looked like someone trimmed them deeply. It must have happened at their facility because I did not go anywhere else. My dog was in my car all the time. I've tried to contact them and all I want to know is what happened to my pup. What I got back is that they refuse to admit it happened at the dog lounge and imply it happened outside because there is no report saying my dog is injured from their staff. This is ridiculous as nobody is going to prove they are guilty of something. They told me all they can do is to offer a complementary bath and day care but who will go there again after all these.

I am changing my previous review after learning about the working environment and how employees are treated at DDL. The high attrition/turnover rate of staff speaks for itself too in my personal opinion. I have never had any issue with the DDL SLU staff themselves though - they’ve always been wonderful and caring toward my dog. They did always seem short staffed though and it was a bit concerning to see so many dogs in the parks with maybe only 1 human to monitor them. I feel like the ratio should be higher for more humans to dogs for safety. Reviews by employees on sites like Glassdoor and Indeed seem to substantiate what I’ve heard about the poor working environment. I’m going to choose to support other dog-related businesses at this time.

This was my second visit and I'm very disappointed. I brought in my 1.5 yr old yorkie couple weeks back for nail trimming and a woman (can't remember her name) took care of him perfectly well. So the next time I bought their full bath and haircut package. Adam was the assigned groomer. I specifically told him that i didn't want his hair around his face and ears trimmed too much as he's very nervous and I love it that way. But when i came to pick him up I saw the body hair was not shortened much but exactly the face and ears were almost shaved. I could barely recognize my baby. When I asked him he replied "yeah I like it proportionate so I did this". First of all when i give specific instructions you tell me if you can't do it but he had agreed and later said he decided so did it which is ridiculous. He akso had nail trimming in the package. I'm not sure what Adam did but I noticed my baby was limping and I feel his paws are paining. Coz he loves when I pamper his paws but now he's not letting me anywhere near them. I am never trusting them with my pup again and neither should any of you.

As far as we can tell, our girl Penny had a great time at DDL in SLU for the Thanksgiving weekend. Over the course of our few days away, I received two texts with pictures of how Penny was doing which was a fun surprise. The WebCam is also a nice feature of DDL, so we were able to check-in on her a few times to see how much fun she was having. I would recommend to anyone boarding their dog here (or likely anywhere) to opt in for a bath before they pick their dog up! We had one smelly dog at pick-up!

I had my dog at DDL for daycare. First evaluation session seemed to have gone well, staff friendly, but I have not received any report card. I sent them an email through their portal inquiring if this was part of the first evaluation, but no response was received. I wanted to send my dog on additional daycare, but I found out that they require bordetella every 6 months so I couldn't complete booking online. I sent them an email through their portal about this to find out my options (right now, normal vet appointments are 3 weeks out) and have tried calling them for 3 days straight, but no response via email nor I couldn't reach them through the phone. No one picks up the phone. I wish they were more attentive and available to answer these inquiry.

Needed to board my dogs this weekend but couldn't reach anyone by phone for 2 days. I will never consider this place as I'd be in a panic if I couldn't get a hold of someone when they had my animals.

I chose this place for boarding because they have camera, but they don’t have camera for normal boarding. If you want to see see your dog sleeping, you need to pay more to upgrade to premium room where has cameras. After 4 night boarding, my dog became sensitive when he is sleeping and aggressive when I want to touch him. Also, he was a nice dog every time he saw dogs or humans, he never barked before. But now he keeps barking every time he go outside for a walk. Not sure what happened to him during the boarding. I won’t choose this place anymore.

If I could give negative stars I would. My puppy contracted puppy warts from this establishment! Apparently they have had several dogs come down with the virus and the owner doesn't want any parents to be informed because she doesn't want us to panic. So instead she wants us to continue to bring our babies there so she can rake in the dough while they get sick and spread it to others. Dont take your dogs there.

My corgi likes coming to daycare at DDL. When I pick her up, she's happy, tired, and ready to nap so I know she was having fun all day long. The staff could be a bit more watchful though. There was a day when my pup was mounted and humped repeatedly by another dog when I was looking at the daycare camera, and the employee didn't notice/intervene half the time.

We needed a half day daycare for our 11 week old puppy on July 20th. As per the procedures we first needed to book a full evaluation day which was totally fine. Before that we were asked to create an account and share all vaccination and additional info on our pup. Evaluation day went well and we wanted confirm our actual half day daycare booking. But we were not able to. The reason is that our pup’s vaccine is due for the same day of daycare and our Vet appointment is 2 days later (the earliest we could get). So as a result our whole plan failed. They should have talked about this before having us bring our pup for evaluation so that we wouldn’t bother wasting our time and would have looked for other options. Now we ended up with no option! This makes it hard to rely on this place. Additionally, they offer some discount for a specific company employees and we are eligible for that. Despite reminding this 2-3 times, they didn’t apply the discount for the charge of the evaluation day so for us, Downtown Dog Lounge failed twice! I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone if you are looking for reliable service.

The entire staff at DDL (near Mercer) are amazing!!! My German Shepard never willingly walks back behind the counter to get groomed at other places. But he does just that here. He gets so excited! Shoutout to Rainy! She is spectacular :)

First time taking a pup to the groomer, and it went better than I expected. My puppy apparently took the process very well (bath and nail trim + overall hair trim of her puppy fur). Katie was great!

They took amazing care of my puppy when I couldn't bring him to work. He was well loved and played with. Stimulated and tired when we picked him up. You know it's good when he tries to pull you toward the door each morning.

We took our beloved 16 year old Silken Windhound to get groomed at DDL South Lake union along with our four year old Silken - Dasher. I can't say enough about the service. Austa was amazing, contacting me several times via text to ask questions. Ruby can be scared and nervous, she also has a minor health issue and, truth be told, we waited too long to go. Austa was very kind and did everything she could to do a great job. We are big fans of DDL and now even more committed to this lovely woman owned local business. Support local business and this one deserves our patronage. Barbara, Randy, Ruby & Dasher

DDL has all the things my puppy loves: other dogs, balls, and a ton of room to run around. If you don't drink it maybe isn't worth paying for (it's $12 for a play session) since it's essentially the same thing as a dog park. However, it does have an area for quieter dogs, a dog treat bakery, and they sell food and drink. You're responsible for your pup(s) while you're there just like at the dog park - no employee supervision or anything like that. I haven't had a chance to take Loki for day stay, but I think that will really be what takes it from a 3 star joint to a 5. It's kennel-less and they really focus on entertaining your dog all day long! I'll have to update once we do that!!

Had the worst customer service from the manager Joey regarding our dogs boarding experience. Unapologetic after we had requested to have our dogs brushed out during their stay. They were severely matted upon picking them up, and we even showed the employee working at the time whom agreed. The employee told us that someone would reach out to us to refund their brushing fee $60. We never received a call. When I called, Joey said that while he personally didn't see them, he can say they were brushed. I offered to show up pictures but he didn't care. I asked for a refund for the brush outs and he refused saying it wasn't within their policy to do that. The worst customer service from him, especially when the worker on Saturday saw the matting and told us we would be refunded! Do not take dogs here!!! Or you and the dogs will regret it!!!

We’ve had our labradoodle groomed here by Chelsea twice. She does a great job and all the staff appear to genuinely love dogs! Happy to have found a reliable groomer :)

An enthusiastic warm welcome. Accommodation time for a doggy daycare stay during the Mariners game. Responsible care regarding age and needs of our 13 week old Irish setter puppy. Perfect location less than half a block from our dog friendly downtown hotel. Walked our pup while we were at the game. Happy puppy when we returned. We are grateful and coming back for tonight’s Mariners game, a double header doggy lounge stay.

Our 11 month old cockerpoo wasn't accepted because she was "aggressive" towards a Labrador that kept sniffing her during the testing phase. The funny part was that we were told beforehand that because of her size and how big dogs and little dogs don't normally get along that she would be placed in the small dog area for daycare. Yet during the testing they had all sizes. No suggestions for training or willingness to work with her. Update: almost two years later DDL still continues to send us unwanted promotions and newsletters. I have contacted them numerous times to stop sending us spam, but I guess business is slow and they really need to build up their clientele list. We would never ever use their services as there are so many better options for dog care and grooming. Take us off your mailing list!!!

Situation: My 10+ year old and 18 week old French bulldogs were place in DDL care for 5 days (Tues - Sun) over the Thanksgiving holiday. I reserved them a premium luxury suite and complied with all DDL requirements prior to bringing my dogs for boarding, including incremental bordatella vaccine to meet their every 6mos requirements as well as paying for day care so the puppy could be 'evaluated' for boarding. For this, I paid $1000 at the end of dogs visit. Issue: upon returning to our care on Sunday evening, both dogs were ill. Our puppy developed a head tremor and was vomiting after every meal. He soon developed diarrhea. Our 10 year old refused to eat or drink, would vomit every time he ate and also had diarrhea. I called DDL on Monday (2x) to report these issues and inquire as to what may have happened while dogs were in their care. Was repeatedly told multiple times that nothing was wrong and dogs ate well. Fast forward to Thursday, I have since spend $1,500 on multiple vet visits, anti nausea medication, anti-diarrhea medication, diagnostic testing, x-rays, and a day at the dog hospital for IV fluids and observation. My dogs are still not well and the vet cannot determine what is wrong. So, if you want to spend a ton of money on dog care and then a ton of additional money to get your dog well, take them here. As an aside, this is the second time my dogs were returned ill. The first time was when my disabled dog (no back end mobility, diapered) was returned with a raging bladder infection, which ultimately led to him being put down a month after boarding. At the time, I attributed to his overall decline, I now attribute it to the care they get at this facility.
