One star for this clinic; I’m not sure why a paying customer cannot find good vet service in this area but it seems like a trend. I will never recommend this place to anyone. #wherertherealvetsat

Turned us away after recommending we come in and have our dog seen, who was gagging and throwing up when we arrived home from work. We arrived right at 5:30 (their last available time for walk-ins) and they told us they had decided to end their walk ins for the day. Told us we should probably go to an emergency hospital, which will be severely more expensive. Don’t tel us to come if you’re just going to turn us away.

13 years ago, two beautiful McNab Border Collies "rescued" me from a Georgia Petco (where I was lurking one morning after a freak accident had ousted me from my flat for several hours). Over a decade later (and thousands of miles away!), Dr. Joseph rescued all three of us: Klaus (my sensitive and super-smart son), Emperor Emma (skittish yet fearless daughter), and their Mama, whose greatest stresses in life involved their separation anxiety (ok, fine, I have it, too!) and Emma's accident-prone nature. During our lives together, the children and I encountered several clinics whose care... left me feeling a bit hollow in my heart; a precious few clinics (and/or clinicians) have been "awesome" or even "totally awesome," BUT... I'd truly and without-exaggeratingness rate Dr. Joseph and the team at VCA Sandy at stellar (or inter-stellar... whichever is higher!)! Why? 1. The man is a master with skittish creatures, and my Emma is the most-skittish one, ever. (And for the first time ever, I didn't hear her yowling during manicure time, so props to whomever managed to make that happen. And for the rec, my ears be sharper than both of my babies put together.) 2. His skill or talent or instinct for whether a test or treatment is needed (STAT or could wait for a bit or isn't needed at all) is second-to-none, and his explanations of medicalness are AWESOME (yes, I'm one of those people who spends hours online, reading about home remedies and this disease and that trend in health-care and of course that's all fine and well--but minus the context or the lab results, an obsessive pet mom like moi can sometimes end up stressing about something normal, or vice-versa. aka YES, I'm a difficult patient. Lol.) 2.5. Oh, I almost forgot that his thoroughness and memory for detail are practically supernatural! 3. Office Manager Judy's kindness and helpfulness were both a delight and also a blessing which calmed me down (when I was anxiously awaiting Emma's yowls (which never happened, thank God!) during nail-trimmingness time). 4. I got the impression that every single team member I encountered today was a "dog person," which was awesome! (This is not always the case!) Ok, this could go on for hours so I'll leave it at these things, but special ultra SUPER thanks to "all y'all" (aka "Dr. Joseph and friends") for making this Emma's least-stressful visit yet! Bright blessings and lots of love and light to one and all <3 sb

Very caring and professional, even gave me a large amount of my deposit back. Love my regular vet at Barlow trail veterinary clinic but in an emergency after hours these guys are awesome. Highly recommend, and me and Shadow would like to deeply thank the staff for their TLC.

The staff is always so caring. Lindsay, and Cathy are amazing. They are willing to do whatever they can to help out. Dr Spencer, and Dr Joseph really go the extra mile to call and follow up on your pet. I had to put my 20 yr old cat down and they were all so patient and kind. I really feel they have my pets best interest at heart.

They were able to get us in same day. The receptionist pointed me to a coupon online for new customers that saved be some money. The staff was extremely friendly and the service was good. We'll definitely be going back.

We have been taking our pets here for over 10 years. The staff is beyond amazing! The latest has been with our dog, Skye, who has been having weird skin issues. Dr. Spencer was AMAZING trying to figure out what was going on. She was so caring each time we talked on the phone about scary results. Anna was always so great asking her needed questions before surgery and so helpful with my questions after the surgery. Anna was very caring when bringing Skye out to the car. Cathy has been there for as long as we have been going there and has seen us go through our last visits when putting 3 elderly pets down. Each time we were sent their final pawprints and all three pawprints are hanging on our wall. Dr. Spencer & Dr. Morse have both been very patient with our reactive GSD puppy and I've learned so much from them, re: Baskerville Muzzles are amazing especially when covered with peanut butter! I would recommend this clinic very much, thanks for making our pets feel like part of your family.

They do such a good job here. I get the feeling they really care about my sweet Gee. And they've helped me treat her skin problem that other vets weren't able to help with. Gee and I are very grateful for VCA Sandy! Thanks <3

Do not visit VCA Sandy in an emergency. I appreciate that they administered pain medication to my puppy in order for us to transport him to another hospital. What I did not appreciate is that we sat in the parking lot for over an hour, with very little information about our sweet boys condition. When the doctor did call with updates, he sounded unsure of what he was saying and it made an already scary situation worse. When he finally told us we needed to take him to an emergency hospital, we were presented with a bill of over $400 (for an iv and an exam!) and when we explained that we LITERALLY grabbed the bleeding puppy and left our home without wallets etc. they said “well we require payment at the time of the visit”. Luckily we were able to look up our card number on an app and pay. I totally understand that there are policies but there are also some exceptions. My wallet was not on the radar when we were rushing to get care for our bleeding puppy. And I did not appreciate feeling like I could not take my dog to get the care he needed if I didn’t drive home to get my wallet first. Overall- I’m sure they’re great for routine visits, but skip it in an emergency.

I was so worried about my service animals swollen face I was immediate terrified waking up to what is essentially my son Titus looking completely distressed and distorted. Dr. Hawn was not just comforting she eased my worries in a matter of seconds; recommending the treatment she herself would use on her animals. To top the cake the vet techs. Recommended the same treatment as Dr. Hawn. It made my pup feel better and put my mind at ease as I watched the painfull symptoms disapate from my dog and normal activity resume. Simply put I don't know what I would of done without these guys. (Side note, less then pleased when the office lady through her hands on her hips when I said she couldn't pet the service animal) But over all AMAZING

Worst experience I've ever had with a Veterinary Clinic when I have an animal that needs to be seen and I'm told you'll need to go someplace else because we only work on appointment so basically they don't care about be pets or the owners will never go back
