I have been bringing my horses here for quite some time. They are very friendly and knowledgeable, and I always leave with a good experience knowing that my horses have been well taken care of. Highly recommend them!

Edit: After personally speaking with the team at Ridgefield and both of us hearing eachother out I feel we have come to a place of mutual agreement. I was very heated AKA sick horse and they didnt take the best approach AKA asking for payment prior to letting me know nobody was available. I'm happy to say at this time we are once again bringing our horses back to Ridgefield and I'm happy with the staff addressing my concerns. I loved Ridgefield Equine for several years of owning my horses. Even when others would disagree I defended my choice of vets. However I have been unhappy with my past few experiences and will be moving my horses care to another vet. Sad to say goodbye however my horses mean the world to me and my 14 year old son. We all deserve the quality and attention to detail we pay for. I no longer feel that it is an even exchange of service.

Dr. Ray is amazing! She took such great and gentle care of my horse during her float. She carefully monitored my horse as the anesthesia wore off to make sure it was safe to trailer her home. We also discussed worming care and diet. I could not ask for a more caring vet. The vet tech was also super amazing and helpful. Highly recommend their practice!

Ridgefield Equine Clinic was recommended to me by my boss who employs owner Meg's husband as a horse trainer and who has used clinic services before with satisfaction. We had a colicky horse who wasn't eating and also appeared dehydrated. My wife called in the morning before the clinic opened and spoke with Dr. Ray after leaving a returned message. The doctor explained the seriousness of the situation but explained that nobody could get to us quickly enough and recommended we bring the horse to the clinic. So we arranged a trailer, took time off work and painstakingly got our sick horse loaded on the trailer. We called the clinic as we were pulling up, only to be turned away as there were "no doctors available." Nobody from the clinic followed up. Thus our first experience with Ridgefield Equine Clinic will be our last. Their lack of communication, unprofessional operations and callous unwillingness to take responsibility for mistakes is a bridge too far.

Took a horse here for a pre-purchase exam a few months back. Staff was friendly, but their charges were significantly higher than what we have paid for similar services in Portland and they brushed off a few things that, while manageable, we now realize are causing some issues for our horse.

Update: In the years since I have posted this review the care my horses have received has still been wonderful. Vets are human, and make mistakes, but I've never seen one moment where this clinic did not do all they could. Horses being horses, we have had multiple emergency calls over the years and they have never failed me. They have always had empathy when I was low and firm resolve when care plans were needed. If I had doubts or questions they answered without rancor or ego. Thank you REC for taking not just amazing care of our horses, but caring about us, too. ______________________ With 3 very competent vets, we've never had a problem getting our herd taken care of. They truly care and do their best for you.

They were a bit busy, but had two stalls so my horses could get out of the trailer while they waited.. staff was very friendly and knowledgeable.. prices are very fair!

We tried calling them numerous times during the week to schedule a visit never spoke to a person and left a message with our number for it to be ignored 2 times via voicemail and 2 emails as well. Might I add that this was all despite a friend told us that Ridgefield equine can’t be trusted. This treatment at an attempt to become a customer seems about par for that course. Then today our gelding had a swollen sheath (he’s lazy and weird and doesn’t let his hang down out to pee) We called this joke of a veterinarian who told us they don’t do emergency visits unless you’re a current customer. We explained we have tried to become a customer of theirs and with quite the snotty tone the lady said “ scoffed WE DON’T DO THAT UNLESS YOU’RE A CURRENT CUSTOMER” Obviously these people aren’t in the business because they love animals and it’s abundantly obvious that your animals welfare is not their primary concern.

The vets at Ridgefield Equine always take excellent care of my horses, are efficient with treatment, explain what they’re doing as they do it, and tell me exactly what needs to be done for follow up care. They’re always willing to answer any questions I have, and are only a phone call away! The receptionists are also amazingly helpful and efficient. My horses love them and so do I!

Sadly disappointed by their lack of organization and care for my horse's well being, along with not taking responsibility or even offering an apology for continuously dropping the ball. I brought my horse in to talk to a vet about trying omeprazole, as we had just came from Arizona and he was stressed and not eating. Vet spent ten minutes with me, okayed the ulcer meds and then we were sent on our way. Ulcer meds were never ordered, I had to call back, was put on hold multiple times as they searched my name and presumably for my file, and then had to ask them to order it again. Receptionist simply denied responsibility, which I understand probably was not her fault. When the meds came in, there were no instructions on quantity and length of regimen, so receptionist had to run back and ask another vet (who did not see my horse) what to give. Once that was cleared up, I was assured my vet (who was on vacation) would follow up with me so I could be informed of when and how to wean him off meds. After two more weeks of radio silence I, yet again, call the office and explain their mistakes, only to speak with a receptionist offering no apology whatsoever. Still not being able to speak with the vet who saw my horse, I was told by the receptionist in broad terms that a vet said to wean him from medication if he was doing better. After such frustration and lack of responsibility, I won't be back.

They are THE BEST! All three Vets are very compassionate and know what they are doing. I drive an hour and a half, one way, to get to their clinic because they are that good.

They have taken amazing care of my horses even if it was just getting their shots or their teeth floated.

Just a few days ago I had an emergency with my horse. Dr. Ray was extremely passionate and provided knowledge to diagnose and treat my girl. She also had a 4th year vet student with her. She was very attentive and also is a great role model for the student. I appreciated their promptness when I called and made the whole process easier to deal with. Thank you again Ridgefield Equine!
