RAPS Animal Hospital Richmond, Washington

I bring my dog here and the staff have been so kind and helpful. They were always able to see my dog at short notice and I always feel like my dog is in good hands even when I have to leave her for a long period of time. The vets are great, especially Dr. Cruz who has gone above and beyond to ensure my puppy received the best care possible.

I'm still traumatized by my visit there. I was quoted 1700$ to have my cat's tooth removed after a visit unrelated to her teeth. However, I went to see another vet for second opinion and was told that her teeth are 100% fine. So, this vet would've removed a completely fine tooth from my healthy cat for no reason!!!! Full story : I went for a visit and was told I wasn't allowed inside due to COVID even though multiple other vets allow patients inside, especially after I told them that my cat doesn't react well to strangers and vet visits when I'm not around. Fair enough, I waited in the car. She was there for blood in her stool and surprisingly, the vet said she noticed my cat had a loose tooth that needed to be extracted as soon as possible and that they would need to do complete blood work and other analysis before doing the procedure to make sure she's healthy enough to go through the anesthesia. But that because she's too agressive, they would also have to sedate her for these tests. So the pre- operation tests would cost between $266-370. The operation itset with xrays and everything would add up to $1096-1484. I couldn't believe this as I looked at her teeth and they looked normal to me, but I'm not an expert. My cat is 3 years old and overall very healthy. I decided to go see another vet for a second opinion and they let me go inside to be with her. He inspected her teeth and said there is absolutely nothing wrong with her teeth. Additionally, RAPS quoted me over $200 for a stool analysis when the other vet only charges $85 for the same test. All I can say is that they only care about your wallet/money and have zero intention of taking proper care of your pets. Clearly the examination wasn't done properly but I have no way of knowing because I wasnt allowed in the room. It was probably rushed, but to tell me that my cat FOR sure needs a major surgery done for NO REASON is the most unethical and unprofessional thing I have ever heard of. Beware, don't get scammed by these thieves. Images of what I was quoted at RAPS as proof.

In compassionate didn't care that my 19 year old dog was in pain and dying due to covid and no work I couldn't have her be comfortable and humanely put down so I called for help lady was rude unhelpful and hung up on I wouldn't suggest anybody go there unless you've got a pocket full of cash because that seems to be the only thing that they care about they don't care about your animals just ur money . If I could give them - 10 I would that being said the Richmond SPCA FIVE STARS ***** thank you for your compassion help to me and my family in one of the hardest times we had recently. As much as I do not like to have to give my dog over without being able to go in I felt confident with the staff who are helpful and friendly. The report I got from the doctor by phone was amazingly detailed and thorough. And the follow-up email the next day to see how my dog was was very much appreciated. I'm a very happy client

An acquaintance told me about the RAPS vet clinic and I am so grateful they did! The vets provided a thorough assessment of my cat’s health, and informed me about major dental surgery that was needed. They answered all my questions and in the days following the surgery, they called to check in to find out how my cat was doing. I felt they were very compassionate and truly cared about us. Everyone I have ever interacted with there has been kind and friendly. I trust them completely and would highly recommend them!

The team there as very nice and helpful even though we can't enter the hospital these days. I know my fur babies will be safe when I drop them off there.

My puppy was so happy to follow the nurse to go inside the clinic. As a owner, I was not able to go inside with my puppy due to the Covid. I think it's time to return to normal...

I always recommend RAPS if anyone is asking for a reasonably priced animal hospital. The doctors are all really kind and knowledge, and I love that they are non-profit.

Heartbroken...we've only ever taken our cat to RAPS. He needed emergency care but when I called to bring him in I was told they were full. What I dont understand is that this is an animal HOSPITAL and there must be emergencies every day so wouldn't there be some time set aside each day just for this reason? I was stunned and after a few minutes called back to explain that they knew his history and they acknowledged that he needed to be seen immediately but was still sent away. I did not want to take him somewhere else and when I asked apparently there is no place in Richmond they could recommend. What I dont understand is this...there must have been one pet being brought in for a simple check up and could have been asked to reschedule. I would gladly do this if roles were reversed. I love the care that they've given my cat but am feeling abandoned and disappointed.

I called to get a 2nd opinion as i was told by my primary vet that I have to put my dog down. I asked if i can get an appointment asap and bring in his blood work results and xrays. Lady on the phone ask if I'm a client there i say no then she say we are completely booked, i tried to plea with her to squeeze me in and she refused and says booked till Monday....really ridiculous a 2nd opinion would have take them 15 mins at their consultation fee of $95...no compassion...

The vets and staff really go above and beyond. Dr. Schwartz has been amazing and helpful.

We bring both our cat and puppy to RAPS. Dr. Alex MacDonaldo is wonderfully kind and patient --- he really takes the time to explain (in layman's terms) the causes of certain conditions and how to prevent them. Both our pets came to him for follow ups after emergency treatment and he ensured their smooth recoveries. The techs there are also superb individuals. Shoutout to Ayala, Elisa, Jenny and Kate for their great work -- our puppy is always pumped to see them and goes into the clinic tail wagging. Endlessly thankful to have this team looking after our most cherished family members.

Staff is friendly, patient and caring of my cats. I feel at complete ease when my cats are in their care. They were super helpful in answering questions I've had about my cats' heath. I had my older cat Allan come in for a checkup, and they took the time to examine him and see that he was overweight and at risk for kidneystones. They helped us come up with a plan and prescribed food to help him be a healthier kitty. Highly recommend RAPS :)

Communicating with anyone through emails is extremely difficult as they either have several different people responding to the same email chain, or don't respond at all regarding things you were told to email about immediately by their vet. Disorganized to say the least, but when you are there in person the vet is kind and friendly.

My elderly cat has received the best care from Raps.

Caring staff. You have to drop your animal in parking lot. You cannot go in. Vet assistant comes to talk to you and arrange payment. Discounts as well

DO NOT bring your pets here!! I brought my sick puppy here and I was turned away because the receptionist told me they do not accept walk ins and nor do they accept emergency cases. However, their website says otherwise (please see pictures provided). I understand they were just opening up, however if someone cannot provide a certain service then that SHOULD NOT be posted on their website. Also, if a vet clinic is scheduled to open at a certain time, why is the doctor not there?! This clinic was unprofessional and unprepared, the computers weren’t even turned on when they open and the receptionist couldn’t tell me when the vet would be able to come in. The receptionist was apologetic and listened to my concerns, however if you can't help me then please do not give someone hope that their pet may be seen by your staff!

Doctor and staff are very friendly. They replied to my inquiries quickly and gave all the necessary information I needed.

Told my parents to call RAPS because their cat had swallowed a needle and this is going to be expensive but turned them away and sent to Boundary Vet and no payment plans there and cannot do the surgery because of money so healthy cat is probably going to have damage passing the needle and will probably have to be put down because had to go to another hospital that is not a not for profit ???? I don’t understand why they were turned away
