This was my second time taking my rabbit to Little Paws but my first time being in with her since the pandemic. Dr. Adam and the staff were wonderful and so good with my sassy bun. She's not a huge fan of being held, but Dr. Adam was super kind and patient with her, even taking small breaks to allow my bun to calm down and relax. As someone who also has experience working with animals, I was really pleased to see Dr. Adam using fear-free techniques to make the appointment as easy and stress-free as possible for my bun. He and his assistant were honestly so good with her and I'm so appreciative because she really can be a feisty little thing! I would definitely recommend Little Paws to anyone with pets big or small!

Dr.Avitan was really helpful at making a trip to the vet a comfortable experience for my dog and I. I was able to be in the room while we did a check up on my dog as well as releasing his glands. My dog stayed calm during this uncomfortable situation because i was able to hold/pet him and speak to my dog while doing the procedure. Dr.Avitan worked on my dog very gently and was very aware if he would cause any discomfort. I am very please how everything went and I will come again if any other vet visits are needed. All other staff were extremely friendly and were enthusiastic to greet my dog once the procedure was completed.

I have seen Dr. Adam and his team for over a year for my 6-year old Pomeranian, and their team has been nothing but amazing! The entire team shows immense care and love for the animals. Dr. Adam provides in-depth responses to all the questions I have, and is extremely resourceful. They have clearly shown their priority is the animal’s health.

Dr. Avitan and the staff at Little Paws saved my bunny Lola's life. If I could give this place 10 stars I would, I am so so grateful. Lola became very sick and started going into GI stasis a couple of weeks ago and I brought her to 4 different vets to try to help her. The other vets treated her symptoms but Dr. Avitan actually helped cure her so that she overcame the stasis. Little Paws examined her thoroughly and treated her with antibiotics, motility and pain meds. They showed my husband how to administer critical care and ultimately saved her life. I will never bring her or any of my other animals to another Vet. Little Paws was incredible!!!

I decided to go to this clinic because of all the good reviews but my experience was just awful. Before my visit to Little paws , I had very high expectations due to all the good reviews. When I brought in my dog into the clinic the receptionist working looked at me and my dog like we owned her debt. I get these kind of looks all the time being a person of colour. My english is not fluent so I tried my best to communicate to the receptionist, she however, was not patient with me at all, rolled her eyes serval times and interrupted me as I was speaking. I can't confirm that this is a sign of racism but if she is treating every customer like how i was treated, this clinic should reflect who they are hiring, especially when it is a job that requires good attitude and extreme levels of patience. The session i had with Dr. Adams was not worth the amount of money it costed for a 15 min session. The things that were explained to me were information that could be found on google, what is the point of the appointment if all the information given was almost useless. Dr. Adams did seem very friendly but being nice isn't the same as being professional, Dr. Adams did not give me a diagnosis, or his thoughts on my dogs health problems. Instead i was given a full rundown of information that could be found on the internet. The bill was also above average and was ridiculously high. This sums up my experience with Little paws, very unhappy right now and if there was an option for zero stars I would've chosen that. DO NOT GO HERE!

This is one of those places that you wouldn’t understand is an amazing clinic and staff without having been to many other clinics and work in the veterinary field. Dr. Adam shares his exam findings and recommendations thoroughly during the 30 min appointment time (vs 15 min in many others), the team is Fear Free certified and has made my cat happier than any other clinics he’s been to. The prices are standard for the field, but the value is certainly above average. I would highly recommend taking your pet here.

My little angel dog, Chica, has been a patient of Dr Adam's and his team at Little Paws for the last 7 years and has rec'd excellent care for her health issues, one of which is canine cognitive delay. In human terms that is dementia. Chica is now a senior dog of 15 years. We recently moved out of the area and it is not convenient to bring Chica to Dr Adam any longer. Chica's distress has increased due to our move and the progression of her mental disease. Her current vet did her best to support this with exams and meds but nothing seemed to help. In my own distress, i phoned Little Paws and asked if Dr Adam could please call me to give me some direction as to how to help calm Chica even though she is no longer his patient. Bless him, Dr Adam called me that afternoon, suggested a med. dosage change, among other things, which I have followed through with and Chica is much calmer, She sleeps through the night now, (which she was not doing ,so neither were we!) and her appetite has even increased. When I asked Dr Adam what the fee was for his consult, he said there was none, he was happy to help. I am so grateful for his support at a very difficult time in the last chapter of my. precious companions life. THANK YOU DR ADAM ????❤️

I have entrusted the care of my beautiful Ragdoll, Sookie, to Dr. Adam Avitan (aka as Dr. Adam) and the Little Paws staff for years since the time he first came on board alongside Dr. Martinez, who was her former vet. Samantha, Tim, Michael, Grace, Una and Jessica always make us feel welcome and give Sookie the best possible care. Dr. Adam is kind, friendly, gentle, patient, understanding and takes his time to explain diagnoses and treatment plans, so you understand the care your pet is receiving. I am always provided with a typed visit summary to refer back to and to keep in Sookie’s health care file. Any instructions I’m given are always clear and my questions are always answered, even if I call following an appointment to ask another question, which I usually do! Dr. Adam has helped me switch foods, recommended feeding approaches like using an automatic pet feeder and find a better dust free litter. In addition to regular check ups to monitor her overall health and to stay updated with her vaccinations, the team at Little Paws has helped Sookie recover from a respiratory infection, performed a dental cleaning, helped her to lose weight all while following Fear Free protocols. Sookie will continue to thrive into her senior years thanks to a team approach, which I feel very much a part of. I highly recommend Little Paws Animal Clinic in Steveston Village. Deanna Trewin

Dr. Adam only cares about money. Needing x-rays and meds that did not help our pet Grim at all. Only got 3 stars cause the other staff took care of Grim to the best of thier ability.

Our first visit to Little Paws was under the worst circumstances as our ferret was very ill. Dr. Adam reviewed all of the medical history, gave a thorough examination, and explained the likely causes and prognosis in a direct but sensitive way. The doctor and the technician were so gentle in handling our weak companion that it was obvious how much they care about their furry patients and the humans that love them. All of the staff were friendly and made the visit as painless as possible.

Doctors and nurse are super nice. Our little cat comes back happy all the time. We purchase a package to cover our cats first year which give me lots of peace of mind. If you are new parent like us little law is a good place to go to. They are very patience and detail oriented.

Great COVID measures: the vet assistant will take your pet inside and Dr. Avitan will then call you to ask questions and provide support over the phone. Very pleasant experience, and we could see our puppy had a ton of fun with the vet techs while we waited outside!

New pet parent here and this was my first experience with a vet clinic. Thanks to Dr. Adam and his team, it was all very positive and memorable due to their kindness. I honestly never met so many wonderful staff members in one place! Wish they can take people in as their patients too. My cat had stomach issues and also an allergic reaction, which Dr. Adam immediately figured out. Not to mention he and his entire staff gave me so much cat care advice. They even offered to record how to clip my cat's claws when I expressed worry about doing it correctly. They always follow up with a call the next day to check your pet's health. Tanzy was even kind enough to donate her cat carrier when I needed a bigger one to bring my cat home (didn't realize my own carrier was too small). She honestly helped me so much and even went out of her way to email me recs for cat supplies as a new pet parent. Honestly forever grateful for the wonderful care by the staff at Little Paws.

This place will gouge you on and on for unnecessary work and will not give a reasonable estimate. The owner is extremely arrogant and rude and in our view very dishonest. we will also report them to bbb. Then in the end because of poor diagnosis your pet suffers if you love your pet stay away

I took my three cats to Little Paws Animal Clinic and the customer service is outstanding! Employees there take time to explain the situation regarding my pet's health compared to nearby animal clinics and their prices are affordable! In conclusion, I highly recommend Little Paws Animal Clinic for their professional staff members.

I brought my 7 year old Pomeranian to Dr. Adam when he had difficulties breathing that came on suddenly. He was able to see my dog right away as he knew it was an emergency. He helped me understand what was going on with my dog, and gave me options to do tests or try treatment. He explained what the pro and con of each option was. I felt informed and able to make a decision without any pressure. In the end I choose to do tests which was a great thing because the Dr was able to figure out that there was serious heart disease going on. We started treatments and now my little guys cough is gone, his energy is back to normal and he’s like a new dog again. I can’t say enough good things about the service here and would definitely recommend anyone looking for a Vet to try this place out.

We took Dobby to see Dr. Avitan the first day we got him. He did a full medical examination, which included recommendations and schedule for what our puppy needed, could need, and when. Dr. Avitan was very thorough and also helped us understand the differences and nuances with pet insurance providers. Dobby is 4 months old now and we're very thankful that we can spend our time focusing more so on the behaviour of our dog, knowing that his health is well looked after.

My family and I just wanted say thank you so much to Dr. Avitan and his team. Dr. Avitan, especially, was so compassionate and instrumental in helping us make the best the decision for our sweet girl, Honey. He was pragmatic and empathetic at the same time. We knew the urgency of our decision making but were given the time we needed to come to terms with it. Again, thank you for your guidance, care and understanding.

We have pet rabbits that we have been taking to Dr. Martinez for years. We were very sad when he had to hand over his clinic, as finding a vet that has such knowledge for rabbits can be difficult. Recently, one of our older rabbits fell very ill and had to be in to Little Paws multiple times in the same week (including multiple times in the same day). I'm happy to say that through this ordeal Dr. Avitan has gained our trust to the same level we came to expect from Dr. Martinez. He is not only knowledgeable, but patient and kind. Our rabbit has improved dramatically over the course of the last week, and I can confidently say that that wouldn't have happened without Dr. Avitan. Update: Unfortunately, this great experience outlined above appeared to be a one off. Since the review, the care has gotten progressively worse. We have two different rabbits, and Little Paws has confused them on multiple occasions. Our older rabbit mentioned above has gotten progressively worse, and all Little Paws has done is prescribe different treatments and charge more money. There has been zero communication about the treatment, and our attempts to reach out to get vital information about his care have been met with hostility instead of compassion. We ended up taking our older guy to a separate clinic that Dr Martinez has relocated to. Dr. Martinez requested our bunny's records from Little Paws, who once again confused our rabbits and sent the wrong file. Once they sent the correct file, they forgot to send lab results from a recent blood test, as well as the results from a culture taken from his ear. Unfortunately, I no longer can recommend Little Paws, and would go so far as to actively discourage you from visiting this clinic with the way it's currently run. We've lost total confidence in Little Paws, and have returned to Dr. Martinez.

You know there are issues when you start seeing coworkers leaving reviews at the business that they work at. Dr. Martinez was a great vet, we are sad to see him gone. We won't be bringing our pet(s) back.
