We have brought our puppy corgi to IVH because he cannot stand and walk since Monday. The hospital said they will take the X-ray and let us know the further details. After they took the x-ray, the doc told us our corgi is fine and there is no fractures, and she thought it should be something wrong with his nerves. Therefore, she referred us to the boundary bay veterinary hospital, which located at Langley. It was an hour travel, so before we departed, we double checked with the doc and the receptionist to ask them to send all the information to the boundary bay veterinary hospital including the x-ray pic. They told us they will send all the information and we can just go the hospital and the neurologist will be there to help us. However, after we arrived at the hospital, the hospital has to retake the x-ray because they did not receive the pictures from IVH. And they told us that we cannot see the neurologist because the procedure will be seeing their doctor first and then they will decide whether our corgi needs to see the neurologist. The information was totally different. And after retook the x-ray, the doctor at boundary bay veterinary hospital said our corgi’s has the fracture between his left leg and his hip. This is insane!! The doctor of IVH is SO UNPROFESSIONAL!! Doctor should save lives instead of just asking for money!! Please do not come to this place for your fur babies!!

We have a 5 month old Corgi, he could not stand up normally and can't walk on his own on Jan 9th morning. He was basically dragging his lower body if he tries to move. This is very serious. We called many clinic but only this hospital and they squeezed us in between appointments. We were grateful but not anymore. This hospital took radiograph on our boy, saying the back and leg bones are fine, so IVH referred us to a neurologist who is currently in an emergency hospital in Langley. And confirmed they will send medical record and X-ray images. We double checked with IVH if the neurologist will be there after 50 mins drive, and IVH was positive because they called. Then we drove 50 mins to Langley. The emergency hospital in Langley never received the X-Ray images, only the record, so they have to do radiograph again because they don't think it is neurologist-related case. Guess what, there is a fracture between left leg and hip. 1. Unprofessional: IVH took the same examination X-ray, but did not find the right problem. 2. Wrong reference: wrong reference due to wrong diagnosis 3. Waste time and cost more money: there is an emergency hospital in Van could do the right examination and surgery but IVH let us drove far away to Langley. IVH charged us emergency fee and radiograph but did not help our boy with anything. Is money the everything your hospital cares? A hospital suppose to save lives, help patients. Please do better or I will make sure all my friends in Richmond know about this.

Dr. Yvonne is amazing. Great staff all around. The most caring vet we've seen. If you're looking for a vet that is very knowledgeable as well as personable, this is definitely the best choice. They explain things well and take time to make sure you understand.

We switched vets to IVH a few months ago. They are amazing. Super informative and fair with their prices. A huge bonus is my cat loves them. Vet visits used to be super stressful for him now he doesn't mind them. They have a customer for life with us.

I've been thinking about sharing my experience after my dog's unexpected passing in January. When I phoned the clinic, the lady didn't care to ask how my dog passed away. Instead, she told me that I only had 5 minutes to bring my dog's body to the clinic. When I got there, the green-haired lady didn't care to ask how my dog had passed away nor expressed some kind of sympathy. She asked me to pay while I was holding my dog's body outside the clinic. After I paid, she seemed disgusted to take my dog's body. I felt disrespected about how she treated my dog's passing. She was my baby. I believe that she feels the same way to all animals that come in the clinic (no value).

This review is not a reflection on the care that my dog received at Island Vet. I always found Island Vet staff/vets to be friendly, honest a caring. What I am most bothered with is the price I have been charged over the years for flea/tick medication. For a years supply of medication (Sentinel), Island Vet is charging the most $313.99 ($100 more than other hospitals). When I asked them to break down the cost or explain the reason, they advised the price "will vary from practice to practice - chatting with another clinic in Richmond is on par with their price." I contacted different practices in Richmond and they quoted $252 & $297. I contacted two practices in Surrey and they were even lower: $207. I hate to sacrifice a good hospital but not at the expense of our wallets.

Took very good care of our family dog. So much so we asked for them to be our permanent vet.

Not recommend, staff inpatient i asked them to add coowner on rabies certificate or put an side notes. Because for traveling gov need to see who is actual bring the cat otherwise they will isolate the cat. They don't care about it and not cooperate. I asked my friend it's not a big issue to do it in different Hospital. I feel they don't care pet besides there expensive cost

Thank you so much to Island Veterinary Hospital. After a negative experience with our new puppy at another vet, the team at this location showed us how positive this experience can be. We left our first appointment for routine vaccinations from here with so much more knowledge and information than we had before. The vets here really care about all aspects of pet health, including mental health and I am so grateful for their care, kindness and advice. COVID-19 has made so many everyday interactions harder and it is really hard not being able to go in with our baby but we felt so comfortable with him hanging out with Dr. Yvonne and both her and her entire team spent so much time telling us all about his health, options to improve it and answering every silly question we might have. We cannot thank you guys enough and we are so happy to have you in our lives and our baby's life!

Caring and compassionate when we needed it most, the vets and staff looked after our companion, Cooper - our golden doodle, for 14 3/4 years. Through his whole life, all his check-ups, emergency visits, operations and his very peaceful end, these folks always did their best for the health and well-being of Cooper. Their ability to share and suggest ways to make his whole life better and make us better guardians is greatly appreciated and we have been blessed to have them as our vet from beginning to end.

Thank you Dr. Sarah and Rebecca for taking care of Harley's cremation. You took the time to explain every detail and even followed up with a handwritten card in the mail. Knowing that he was being taken care of properly, and your caring and compassionate attitudes made this ordeal bearable.

I was recommended by a friend to come here when I got my kitten. I’m so happy I did, it’s very reassuring to know my cat Orion is in great hands. All the staff is amazing! They are all friendly, knowledgeable, thorough and caring. I’ve only had the best experiences coming here, definitely recommend!

It's always a pleasure coming here as everyone is so nice and welcoming. Any questions I have, I know I can just send over email and get an answer back. Emma, Rebecca, Sarah, and Aiko are all so lovely to talk to. Having been with Sarah Dumont, she is kind and explains everything well. However, Kristen really stood out to me as she made an effort to reach out in regards to my puppy's teeth extraction plan and made sure I understood everything that was going on, and helped make the treatment plan better and more affordable. She wasn't even the person handling this case but since it's something we chatted about before, she made sure to check in with me about it. Kristen is awesome!! Overall, although a bit pricey, I would definitely recommend coming here as the service is impeccable and it's worth the dollars knowing that my baby is being taken care of by the best.

It's the little things... Like separate waiting rooms for dogs vs cats. The follow-ups from vet techs to see how things are going after your visit (where they sent you home with meds). Clear communication and kind consults with Dr. Dumont are the base of a great vet experience.

The vet here helped solve a problem with my cat Leia that my previous vet had missed, they offered great advice to care for her going forward. Didn't try to press me for unneeded services and even provided one for free that a prior vet charged 40$ for. They offered fair prices and will be our chosen vet moving forward.

Had to come here a few years ago with a sick cat. Had to put her down. Very sad but the vet was very helpful and made the situation as easy as possible.

In my entire life, I have had the best experience at this vet for my puppy, Coco. During this Covid-19, the vet was very professionally managed and all the staff were so friendly. The doctor was of course the best in every aspect. I could only sleep 2 hours last night due to my sick puppy, but this vet saved both of our lives.. I would still need to take him to the vet for the following weeks but I am so happy to find this place, indeed. Thank you so much for such a great and professional service you all gave us this morning.
