We have had Yorkies for over 25 years and have always felt like our little family member receives the best care from Dr Cabales. Sammy loves him so much that she tries to jump out my arms to get to him. The personal care that he gives is 2nd to none. All of the staff are always compassionate and our pets sense that. I most highly recommend both Ironwood Animal Hospital as well as Seafair Animal Clinic.

Love these guys. They're caring and compassionate but must importantly they are skilled and thorough.

My family has been taking our critters to seafair / ironwood veterinary hospital for over 25 years. They have provided exceptional and honest care for our pets.

The vets here are very honest and fair. The never seem like they're trying to gouge you for money (unlike some other veterinary hospitals) and they're very careful and comforting when handling my elderly dog.

Great animal care. Friendly doctors. Misdiagnosed cat. But did treat her for the infection that saved her. Are pricey. Dont say that you can not afford treatment. I cant but borrowed money..bc I'm a single Mom and they said to send her to a specialist and I said I couldnt afford that, they then required a 50 percent deposit to treat cat right away. Was bizzare bc treatment was given twice before that without requiring me to put 50 percent at drop off. Felt a bit discriminated from it. Yes I'm poor. Yes, but after paying 1300 dollars for treatment, dont put conditions on me. Im glad I got a second opinion.

Ironwood Animal Hospital is the sister clinic to Seafair Animal Clinic which is the one farther west along Steveston Highway. My experience happened at Ironwood which is near #5 Road and Steveston Highway near the tunnel, run by the same owners. My vet was Dr. Ceballos, although I have no doubt that any vet connected with either location would be as excellent. Dr. Ceballos spoke to my dog and patted her a bit (unlike some vets who sadly, have become so disengaged from their job that they no longer interact with the animal client in this manner). He took his time speaking with me (again, unlike some vets who exude a feeling of wanting to rush through and get out of there), answered questions, listened to comments, and generally made us both feel welcome and that we mattered. I received a quote that was designed simply, for the layman to understand and he walked me through it. My dog only got a teeth cleaning but if she had a serious issue, I'd feel very confident in bringing her back here. The tech (Ashley?) who performed the work was great as well, explained everything fully and made me feel comfortable with the procedure. The final bill came out less than the quote; when I inquired why I was told that they needed to take fewer xrays than anticipated. I could imagine that an unscrupulous vet could've charged me as per the quote anyway (or even a bit more) and I wouldn't have known or questioned the reason why. Bonus points for that! I couldn't recommend Dr. Ceballos and the team at Ironwood Animal Hospital more.

My 14 month old Golden Retriever was viciously attacked by a very aggressive Large White Husky Type looking Mixed Breed . Sunday our previous Vet was closed, so I took Kona to Ironwood location. The Doctor was very nice, explaining a few different options at 2 price points. Ended up selecting the most thorough option (which was actually less than I anticipated). Required some Anesthesia, numerous stitches to close the Deep Puncture wounds on his chest, and Drains inserted to prevent swelling and infection. My dog had a few follow up appointments to check the progress of healing "now totally healed" and during each, we met 2 more Vets at same location that were just as friendly, knowledgeable & like others said - they "All" had a genuine interest and caring about my Pet (no pressure, upselling, or awkwardness) . Moving forward, this will be my Vet of choice and would recommend to anyone!!

Best small animal vet I’ve been to in years. So glad I found them, I had had so many bad experiences that I had all but given up on having a regular vet for my cats and dogs. You can’t go wrong with any vet at this clinic!

I love this clinic! I have been with their sister clinic at Seafair for over 30 years, and am delighted with Ironwood, its a bit closer to home. The doctors and the assistants, are truly great, very caring, very compassionate, they really do care for their patients! I have recommended the clinic to many people and have heard back that they are happy as well! I wish them all the luck in the world in their new clinic. They really are the best "family" docs for my girl.
