They are so good with us as first time dog parents. Juniper feels safe with both of the doctors she has met so far. I hear they have boarding or daycare services and I'm interested to know more information on that

I took my little dog in because I thought she was going to have puppies. We saw Dr. Gutter. He did a ultra sound and said he saw two maybe three puppies. He told us to come back in two weeks and they would be able to tell us if it was two or three. Found out today after another x-ray that there are no puppies and probably never were. Went home talked to another dog expert and was told we got overcharged, that either a x-ray or a ultra sound should of been sufficient enough, that both was unnecessary. So not only am I left with no puppies but I had a almost $400 dollar bill. FOR NOTHING. I would never take my dog to this place again. And I am heartbroken to be left with so much hope of puppies and left with nothing. So very unprofessional.

I did not know if I was going to be able to post this today. My little Jelly passed on this morning. My husband and myself spent the night taking care of her. We took her to the emergency vet and they sent us home with some charcoal in her system on Sunday. As the night came on into Monday morning we had been up with her almost every hour cleaning up from both ends. I called VCA Kootenai first thing this morning and talked to Donna. She was so amazing and got me in right away. As soon as I walked in the door Donna took my baby right into see the vet. Hallie Williams DVM who was great today. DVM Williams and her assistant took great care of Jelly and gave me the time to say good bye and hold her as she left this world. Thank you for making this day a little easier and talking me through everything. You all are amazing. I can not say anything bad about this place even their kennel is great. Thank you everyone at VCA Kootenai for helping me through this very sad day as taking care of my Jelly.

Had a great "Meet and Greet" session with Dr. Williams and her tech. Both very friendly and understand of the fact that they are the only other ones to have seen our fur baby in all of her 12 years. Listened to our concerns, ran some tests and came up with some helpful suggestions, and possible and hopeful solutions. Will talk with them in a weeks time and report results of home treatment. Very professional.

Response to Ms. Schaefer - I left several messages to speak with you during this terrible experience. Not a word from you until this post. Fortunately, we found a vet who is compassionate and intelligent who treats Lucy with kindness and diligence, and me with respect, utterly the opposite of Dr. William’s who is the worst vet I have encountered in 40 years of caring for animals. Your feigned apology and interest is equally unprofessional and vapid. If I could give negative stars, I would. We do not recommend VCA. I come from a state where tickborne diseases are common place. Vets here in Idaho are completely unfamiliar with what acute and chronic tickborne diseases look like or how to treat them. This hospital is particularly incapable in addition to being very unresponsive and unprofessional. The veterinarians only want to do bread and butter cases - they said this! - and they would rather let an animal suffer then trust the professional judgment of another physician who has seen chronic tickborne diseases in their dogs and cared for them successfully. Back East we would never have encountered such terrible incapable care. The VCA vet’s answer for anything above bread and butter is to refer you to a specialist, and cost you more time and money, and continue to let an animal suffer. We do not recommend VCA at all, particularly Dr. Williams. She was also supposed to look into dosing and starting a pain medicine, Amantidine, for our dog who has a lot of pain from her chronic tick born disease. NEVER called back with the prescription. She is condescending and does not respect the knowledge and experience of another health professional. She is inexperienced and does not know how to practice both the art and science of medicine. She would have completely missed the diagnosis of Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever in the first place if we hadn’t insisted they test. She under-treated and sent our dog down a terrible path that she neither takes responsibility for and refuses to remedy.

We are new to the area and unfortunately our almost 14 year old pug was coming to the end of his life. Dr. Williams took Champ in and treated him with love and respect in his final hours of life. The staff at the animal hospital were all amazing and treated us with respect and kindness. An amazing experience for such a sad time in our lives. We will definitely be bringing future pets to Dr. Williams and the Kootenai Animal Hospital Team.

Midday on a Friday my groomer noticed my dog had an aural hematoma in his ear and asked me to pick him up and take him into the vet. My regular vet couldn’t get him in and the emergency vet wasn’t helpful so I took a chance and called Kootenai animal hospital. Hope, who answered the phone, was super helpful in figuring out if I needed to get him in right away, took the time to get the Drs opinion and was friendly and understanding. I had him there within 20 minutes of that phone call where he needed surgery and to stay over night. Dr kyle and his tech (wish I could remember her name!) were very friendly and patient and answered all of my questions without me ever feeling rushed. I called back later with additional questions about switching his food right before closing and Hope (once again) was so helpful, researched multiple types that would work and texted them to me (10 minutes after closing!) I also got a call checking on our dog a few days later. I was so impressed with a not so fun situation, we’ll be taking him there from now on.

I brought my dogs there. Covid restrictions prevent entrance into the facility unless you are staff.I waited for 1 hour & 45 minutes in the parking lot. There were many people who pulled up after me & got seen immediately as well.

Took my kitten here in july for her first shots and check up, everything went great until I got her home. About 2 days after my visit I found her covered in fleas. It took my at least a month to get rid of them and 100-200$ in pecdicides and flea treatment. My cat is a 100% indoor cat with no other pets in the household. Now I just recently took her in to get spayed and she has fleas again! This is beyond frustrating let alone very uncomfortable for my cat. All of this on top of a 30min wait time with an angry kitty trying to eat the leather in my car. I also asked that they clip her nails which they didnt do. I doubt I will go here again and I suggest you do the same.

This is the only place I will take my Sugar! The front desk and managers and doctors have all gone above and beyond for my.. my sugar is terrified of linoleum and stone floors... The manager and doctors here made notes in her charts where they put rugs out every time she comes just make her anxiety a little less

Update: I was asked to email their office to "discuss this further," and after a week I still haven't received a response. From my experiences this office is mis-managed while offering no communication regarding patient appointment times. If you can take anything away from this review, it is: Do not take your animal to this clinic unless you have endless time to wait on an appointment time. I realize there are emergencies, and they have precedence, but the employees of this office do not communicate when the office is running behind and allow you the opportunity to reschedule. If this clinic is going to cater to emergencies and ignore appointment times, then they should be a walk-in clinic. Twice in a six-week period, I had appointments for my new kitten. I showed up on time, and I called to check in as their sign states. I waited 25 minutes the first time before someone came out to my car to take my kitten in for her check-up. I assumed it was a one-off thing and gave them the benefit of the doubt. The second time though, the same thing happened. I called, waited 20 minutes this time and ended up leaving because I needed to go back to work. I got a call 10 minutes later once I was home to drop my cat off before returning to work. It would have been a 30-minute wait for my appointment time that I had made over a month prior. Like I said, I understand there are emergencies, but it is the responsibility of the staff member that is checking people in to let people know when patient times are running behind. This happening twice, and for that amount of time shows they have a real issue with scheduling and communication that needs to be addressed. Had I been notified ahead of time I could have saved the drive to their clinic, or told they were late when I called to check in for my appointment and offered to reschedule that would have been courteous. The staff may care for your animals, but they have little regard or respect for the people that they serve.

We took 3 of our babies to them . They guided 2 of them when it was time for them to go to the bridge. They were great .I have since moved to Texas I have a new fur babie they saw him before I left. A year later they let me know it was time for his shots. I explained I had left the area they e mailed me teaks shot records I would recommend them to everybody else.

We brought our beloved lab to see Dr. Roger's because she had a large growth on her eye lid. We where told it would be a complicated surgery by 2 different vets, Dr. Roger's successfully removed the growth and we could not be more pleased with him and staff.

Very disappointing, instead of using there knowledge and experience to find out what is wrong with your animal and doing more tests instead of just blood work than guessing what could be wrong they give him antibiotics and steroids and send them on there way just to watch your animal die. I believe if they actually act like it's there animal and doing anything for them my animal would of lived instead of assuming what was wrong with him he would still be here. Dont bring your animal there is you want them to live.

The absolute best staff, veterinarians and assistant vets. You guys are 100% every time I visit. Much love and appreciation! Update 11/26/2019- I found another vet. After they've swap to VCA the veterinarian's there have gone downhill, the prices has gone up.

Resolved well- the doctor called and explained everything and offered to watch over my dog at no extra charge so I am satisfied. Would hope they take it as a teaching lesson to the assistants. The doctor barely asked me about our situation just automatically insisted on xrays which didn’t even answer our main concern. When I had additional questions he wouldn’t come back in the room to discuss and the nurse looked like a deer in headlights and couldn’t answer any of my questions. They kept telling me if my dogs bleeding got worse to take her into the emergency clinic. But nobody would tell me what worse looks like because to me it already looks really bad. Not only did they take $225 from me that I now don’t have to put towards an emergency visit if I need to go I left worse off than when I came. And they didn’t even let me get out of exam room before they were handing me my bill. I used to love this place but now they rush you in and out of there out of pure greed in my opinion. Will never go here again.

Very caring and concerned people. It's really nice to find a vet clinic where they care more about your pet than they do about your money. I'd highly recommend them.

I made an appointment over the phone and they verified it I thought everything was going to be good and then I got there and sat in the waiting room with my 8 week old kitten for 30 minutes after watching numerous people get service we finally went up and said something the lady at the front counter the one that actually cared about us went back there and yelled at somebody and said we had been waiting there for a long time that we should have had a room by now... so they finally got us into a room and then the girl came out and asked what we had come for and we told them that we needed the vaccinations for my kitten she said she would be right back with the vaccinations and then she took about 20 more minutes ( they forgot about us again ) finally we went out to the main lobby and asked if they had forgotten about us then finally somebody came in with my kittens vaccinations. Highly not recommended for new or young pets I definitely will not be going back i definitely do not trust them with spaying my pet they'll probably forget about her on the operating table and go and have lunch or something...

Koda our 87lb 9 month old newfy mastiff had an awesome visit with Doctor Kevin and his assistant staff. She had her 1st / 2nd shots done which were done and over in less then 2 minutes. Dr. Kevin addressed all my concerns and we were in and out in about 30 min with not to much hassle. I had foot surgery and was on a scooter and the staff was super wonderful even making sure I was taken care of as I was guiding in my very strong puppy lol I would definitely recommend this hospital to many others and will be going back to them in a month for some boosters for Koda. An awesome little side note is that inside the hospital there is also a grooming company that they are kind of sort of sistered up with. They are separate entities with the same owner in the same building. ???? worth checking out!!

We were pleased with the dental care and follow-up attention our dog received. It's a very busy clinic but well-organized, and focused. The staff were all pleasant and caring. We will go back to this veterinary clinic.
