We had a fantastic experience today at our first visit. I love that this practice is fear free certified, you can tell that they not only care about your pets physical well being, but their mental as well. The check-in process was seamless and the fact that the lobby was kept free of waiting patients by having people wait in their cars was also great. Having previously worked as a technician in the veterinary industry I know how hectic and chaotic a clinic can end up feeling - it’s not the case here and it makes it SO MUCH more pleasant. I hope it continues post-pandemic. I’ll say it again, I loved everything about our visit today and am so glad I chose this practice for my dog going forward.

Wonderful vet. We switched to Viking after frustrations at Banfield. They are helpful, responsive and wonderful with our dog. The vet made sure to answer all our questions and our dog loved the cheese. Would definitely recommend!

Really try to get you in soon, not make you wait for weeks like some vets. Very kind and sweet techs, so good with the fur babies.

My family’s experience with Viking Veterinary Care had been going well enough and we were slowly transferring all our animals to their care. However, our large breed dog recently started having terrible arthritis pain even though we have him on supplements recommended by the vet. I called to try to make an appointment and get recommendations for how we can keep him comfortable in the meantime. The vet is unable to see him for a month and refuses to give any advice on how to keep him comfortable or any medication recommendations in the meantime. I think this is unethical and really shows a lack of compassion for their patients. Now we have to watch him limp around for a month in pain while we feel helpless. Giving a short Deramaxx, or similar, script to tide him over until his appointment shouldn’t be too much to ask.

I recently moved to Oregon and was looking for a veterinary for my dog. So far we are very pleased with Viking, setting the appointment took some time but people working here show they are passionate about their job and it gets reflected on the quality of revision on my dog.

Excellent experience from start to finish for myself and my kitten, Stevie. Scheduling the visit was super easy as was completing paperwork online. I really appreciated the follow up emails confirming my visit and letting me know the current procedure so we were both prepared for the visit. Upon arrival, it was a simple text message and Courtney came out to get us. I was so excited to go inside and be with Stevie! Stevie enjoyed the cat only room and Dr. Rosie was very kind and gentle with her. She was offered a variety of treats and enjoyed the Feliway diffuser. Afterwards, Stevie was able to pick out a toy! Checkout was smooth and fast! Highly recommend if you want a place that takes care of the client and the pet.

They are wonderful people. We've had issues with vets and they were great. Had one issue with them but would still keep going if we didn't move an hour away.

I love Viking. I've been taking my dog there since early 2020, so this past visit was the first time I'd been inside for the exam. I already knew they took great care of my sweet senior pit bull from my interactions with the techs and conversations with the vets, but I was still so impressed this time. The Fear Free program is not a gimmick or something minor—it's a huge deal for people with sensitive animals. My dog had a violent past, and I'm very picky about how she's handled because I know that she won't let people know when she's uncomfortable or afraid—and she deserves not to have to hide her fear. I don't worry about this at all at Viking. They're amazing in ways that are simple (like having big foam beds available for large dogs to be comfy on the floor—why doesn't every vet do this??) but also in the bigger ways that determine whether someone feels safe trusting them with their best friend. I could not be happier that my dog is their patient. I hope I never need them for something major, but if I do, I will feel good about it.

After having care with various veterinarians over the last 7 years (small private offices and corporate offices) I can say that Viking Veterinary Care was a breath of fresh air. We were able to get in quickly, our visit was incredibly easy going/ relaxed, and the prices were on point for their services. I appreciated how truly genuine the entire staff is, and how their vet, Dr. Drennen, was happy to answer any and all questions I had, didn’t rush any part of the exam, and got onto our fur babies level throughout the visit. I am grateful we have found such a wonderful office for continuous care.

Each member of the staff here is friendly and kind; they were very gentle with my small dog who is a very nervous/timid creature! They're great.

I've been taking my cat to Viking Veterinary for a few years now and they have always taken very good care of him. Any cat owner knows that cats have a mind of their own and do things on their own time. The vet techs and Dr. Drennan always handle him gently and are very patient.

Compassionate, caring, thorough, and just a 4 minute walk from my home. The staff truly loves animals, and I enjoy the ambience, intimacy and high quality of technology in the various parts of the clinic, from lobby to private rooms, to operating theater. What is there not to love about Viking Viking Care? Did I mention Viking Vets is a women-owned business?

My family was evacuated from the Dixie fire with their dog, Shiloh. I am so grateful that Dr. Rosie could make time to see Shiloh. She listened attentively and checked him out thoroughly. Her fear free techniques clearly put Shiloh at ease, as well as my father. Lauren, the Vet Tech, took charge once the doctor left. She answered all of our detailed questions and explained the progress she would expect to see over the next few days. Every interaction we had at Viking made my displaced family and their sick dog feel comfortable and cared for, from Laird scheduling our visit, to Lauren and Dr. Rosie. You all truly make your clients feel Loved, Honored and Protected. Thank you!!!

I'd been going to Viking for the past 3 years. I really valued their care. Staff and doctors seemed knowledgeable until more recently. More recently, this veterinary clinic has become extremely unorganized. Some examples of this are: There seems to be poor recording of visits, notes that were taken would disappear. I was given canine probiotics instead of feline. I was triple charged for a stool test. An appointment I had made over the phone was not booked properly and I had to reschedule. The thing that angers me most is that the doctor I worked with did not seem to have a single care for the life of my pet. I took my new kitten in for his first check up. He was having diarrhea and needed his vaccinations. Because of Covid, I could not go in with my kitten. Dr. Hendricks called me 2 minutes after having taken him in to tell me that he was looking healthy, they gave him his shots, and attributed the diarrhea to worms so gave him some dewormer. The whole appointment was done within 5-7 minutes. Two minutes is not nearly enough time to give a thorough examination. I had a stool test done and the results came back negative for parasites within 18 hours-- which was suspicious, since they said getting the results would take a couple days. For the next month, I went in and tried different treatments and medications prescribed to my kitten to treat his diarrhea-- none of them helped. They then recommended a rectal exam BEFORE recommending a more in depth stool test. I did not have my kitten go through with the rectal exam in fear of traumatizing him if he were to be handled carelessly. I cannot speak to the care other doctors at this vet can give, but I suggest those looking for a clinic take their time and choose wisely.

We are so lucky to live near this amazing vet! Our friends recommended finding a place that was certified "fear-free" when we adopted our 5-year-old pittie last year and I'm so glad we did. Our dog receives the best care from all the vet techs who treat her like the precious princess that she is, even though she is very anxious about going into the vet. They even have an online pharmacy for refilling her monthly meds and let us come in to do free "happy visits" when she was first adjusting to the office! I can't recommend this place enough!

Did not find our experience was "fear free" at all for my rescue dog with high anxiety. It was actually worse than the last vet I took him to and they weren't even "free free certified". These people do not understand high anxiety dogs, only normal dogs with vet anxiety. So take that "fear free" with a grain of salt. Then come to find out they "don't work with" places like chewy to help you get your dog's medicine AND don't even sell it themselves. Ridiculous. We will not be returning again. God forbid you all make it easy on the client you are helping with medication ordering.

It's the first time as a pet family so that I don't have much knowledge about my dog. Still learning many things. People of Viking Vet are professional and kind every time. Even though during COVID pandemic, every treatments and process are safe and easy. My dog doesn't have any fears about visiting Viking.I'm so happy with it and I will definitely give five stars.

Did not have a good experience here. Tried due to all the good reviews, yet ended up with an appointment over 2 hours and a traumatized dog after. It was a basic check up. Longest I've ever spent at a vet. The dog had no issues.

Can't say enough good things about this place! Staff is so friendly and caring. Dr. Rosie Gilbert is the absolute best. Knowledgeable, and willing to learn when unique circumstances arise. We have a special needs bulldog rescue so there is always new things to learn and incorporate into the care of our animals. Viking is always up for the challenge! They love your animals as much as you do.

Waste of time. We scheduled an appointment a month in advance for our sick dog and they cancelled at the last minute.

This Clinic was professional and wonderful from the minute I called through to the very end. I would not go anywhere else. Fear free is a great way to go.
