WARNING! The folks that earned this current 4.4 out of 5 star rating have sold this business to a couple of swindlers. After nearly 8 years of bringing my basset hound to this veterinary clinic I am disappointed and disgusted with what has become of a once reputable and respectable business. Though some of the support staff remained when the business changed hands I can now understand why some left and why animal owners are leaving this vet in search of one with integrity. After receiving a written quote for surgery intended to remove 5 tumors from his skin and waiting a month and a half before they could get us in their true colors came to surface. The “package” they quoted included multiple mass removals, a cone designed to keep him from getting to the incisions, the tumors being tested for cancer, all medications needed, and 2 follow up appointments to inspect/remove stitches. On the day of the surgery they attempted to raise the price of the already expensive surgery by over 60%. They explained that they had made a mistake with the quote and expected me to pay the difference. I presented my written quote and they seemed offended that I expected them to honor our written agreement. Though I paid the full price of my quote they only removed 3 of the 5 masses promised and also decided to save themselves money by not having the cancer testing done. I paid full price for a fraction of what they promised. After surgery they sent us home with the cone they required me to buy as part of their package. Unfortunately, they gave us the wrong size cone and while I was at work a couple days later, Bentley was able to bite at one of the incisions and opened up a 6 inch gash. I notified them as soon as I realized it and they had me wait 4 days with that open wound before they would get him back in to have it fixed. Though he was able to get to the wound because they sent us home with the wrong sided cone, they presented me a bill for $650 to fix it. The doctor didn’t even have the integrity to talk with me about it after questioning the additional charges. We will never go back and I hope sharing our story keeps other animal lovers from being taken advantage of by them. Pictured is what they made him live with for 4 days before they felt it was important enough to get him back into surgery.

I've been bringing my chihuahua here since he was a puppy (now 4 yo). They always handle him with care and do everything they can to keep him comfortable. They also make sure that I understand every procedure and make sure I don't stay with unanswered concerns. Really great clinic, would 100% recommend.

This was a great clinic however the vet we were relying on sold the practice without notice to us. We had three upcoming appointments for surgeries with our animals, courtesy call to customers would have been nice. We established 5+ years ago when we moved to the Milwaukie area. Now owned by corporation which buys up smaller practices, using them as a front for business. They have only 1 vet and cut hours. I called for advice about a wound on my dogs paw, didn’t hear back for a week, I took care of his paw myself. They never have any appointments for long time customers and book us out three weeks. We have taken our dogs to other clinics for over two months now. Definitely looking to establish with another clinic.

There is new ownership now, they are incredibly unprofessional, canceled and rescheduled my cats and dog surgeries five times making my animals wait longer and longer in pain because they were messing up their schedule. I will never put my pets’ health in their hands

I've gone here a handful of times for two pets. My overall impression is that they are more concerned with making money than caring for your pet.

I have taken both of my dogs here for years. My oldest is 13 now. The new ownership and customer service is terrible take your pets somewhere else.

I had to search for a new vet late last year and found this one. They have taken beyond excellent care of my cat who's struggles with a thyroid issue and kidney disease, without their help I think I would of lost him before then.

Great service and great people

Feeling very disappointed with there response to an urgent matter with our puppy. Our puppy had to be seen by a emergency vet. 2 weeks ago for what we thought was seizers. We were told paperwork would be sent to our (vet)Milwaukie and that they would be reaching out to us for her to be seen again. We heard nothing. Her medicine ran out and her condition has gotten worse. My Husband and I both had called there multiple times and was told someone would get back to us and no one did. I finally spoke with someone today who apparently did not take it serious and could only be scheduled for next week. So we called Oregon city vet. They took it very serious and took her in right away and showed our baby love and compassion and us too! What really makes it even worse is right when I pulled up to the oregon city vet to get our baby in.... Milwaukie vet was on the other line calling to see if I still wanted to keep my appointment with them or should it be cancelled. So you can call for that in the middle of an emergency with our pet but calling us back on an urgent matter is no big deal. Very disappointed and you cancel all future appointments with all our furry babies!

Always friendly staff and a wide range of options. Lucas threw animals, little expensive but you know split and demand I guess.

I had two female cats spayed at Milwaukie Animal Clinic and I was so nervous about recovery and pain but their surgery, from drop-off to pick-up and then recovery, was so easy and the staff are all so kind and informative. My kitties were back to normal so quickly and I'm guessing this is due to a great Veterinarian. Thank you all at Milwaukie Animal Clinic.

Love this place! I've been taking my 2 doggies here for 6 years now and they are so good to them. Their prices for exams and other procedures are much lower than others I've looked into.

Absolutely fantastic. I've been coming here for many years and they truly are top tier. The knowledge and compassion is obvious throughout your visit. Because of them, my pets have lived longer and better lives.

This is the best Vet Clinic I have ever gone to. My 13 year old kitty was so sick, found out he has kidney disease. The whole staff was very compassionate. Dr. Fahlman was great with KC. He put him on a special diet. I was worried he wouldn't like the food, and he loves it. They will always have the care of my kitty.

Dr. Thompson is great! I had my appointment messed up and she still fit me in. Very knowledgeable and is not into having you do things ( tests etc) that you don't need to. Do NOT like one of the receptionist.
