Excellent care for my dog Llio. Very professional and friendly staff. I really appreciate the time they spent explaining my dogs health and the extra care in ensuring the best form of treatment. International dog docs for travel unfortunately are severely mispriced so for that we will have to go elsewhere but othereise really happy with this clinic.

Really disappointed in my visit today. They ended up charging me MORE than Dove Lewis (emergency vet in Portland), which is ridiculous, because they certainly cannot handle my dog like Dove Lewis and their service is no where near as kind or genuine. First, my dog has never had to be sedated to be seen by a vet. Honestly when they told me they couldn't get near him last attempted visit I should have taken it as a sign that they were not a good choice. But we had a previously successful visit and that jaded me. I was scared this morning because he seemed ill and thought I needed to take him in, I also thought it would cost less than Dove Lewis has in the past (dove lewis also provided much more intensive and lengthy care). I've never seen my dog behave so aggressively toward people, he's almost 8. He wasn't reacting well to the sedatives they gave him so I rushed him in this morning ahead of our semi-planned emergency visit, and they didn't seem to care or notice at all and instead thought they didn't give him enough. The point was to take the fear away, but he's never looked so scared in his life. How the staff was attempting to handle him is completely incorrect for an anxious dog. One of the male staff members came in later in the visit to hold him with a towel and literally started twisting it and hunching like he was getting ready to wrestle my dog (which obviously made him more scared), it took me all of 2 seconds to tell him to give me the towel and let me hold him. I honestly wanted to bite them. They were complely incapable of acting calm around him, they treated him like a threat the whole time. I've literally had 18 year old dog sitters that handled him better by just acting more calm and creating a relaxing enviornment. They treated him like a threat the whole time and then acted like it had nothing to do with their behavior towards him or me. I basically got myself $1500 in debt today to get no answers and traumatize myself and my dog. Sorry guys, but this was an awful experience, i literally left crying. I wish I could go back in time and go to Dove Lewis instead. One of the worst things was I was told I would get a call once they put him under to discuss things they were going to do. They instead called me after, once they were waking him up, so I had zero chance to discuss what I wanted done. Which is heartwrenching considering I was so hesitant to have him sedated in the first place. They took my options away. They acted like they had no time which is pretty awful considering the price. I also felt like everytime i asked a question they got defensive. I guess it's about 1.5k per hour for their time. I am seriously questioning how they have such good reviews. Do NOT take any anxious pets here.

Really excellent experience with my two newly adopted cats, both of whom received a good looking over. The consult with Dr Lauman was fantastic - I really felt that she cared about my cats.

I have never heard that booking a vet visit I have to put a 85 dollars deposit upfront on my credit card. Correct me if I am wrong. I declined definitely.

This is, by far, the BEST experience I've had with taking my cat to the vet...any cat, for that matter. My other cat used to love everyone and was ok with the vet's office, but Fiona does not approve. Our old doc in SD had to knock her out to give her an exam or shots because she was terrified and bitey, but not here. If there's a medication (Gabapentin) you can give me that will sedate my poor, stressed out cat, make her visit easier for all of us, and eliminate the need for dangerous anesthesia, why wouldn't you use it? No one at my old vet clinic ever mentioned such a thing! Pearl had me stop by before her appointment to pick up a pill for her and everything went just fine. They talked me through everything they did, since I couldn't be in the exam room with her and they were very thorough in going over all her lab work with me after her visit. I picked them when we moved here based on other peoples' glowing reviews, and I'm happy to add my own now. ❤ From the online forms I filled out before her appointment, which even included a place to upload a photo, to the full lab results with the vet's explanation in my inbox a few days after her visit, they really took the time and effort to make sure we all understood Fiona's needs and overall health.

My dear little 4-legged friend Mr. Racer had an episode that turned out to be heart failure. I rushed him to Pearl Animal Hospital and dropped him off. Not an hour later they called and I was suddenly faced with making the tough decision to put him to sleep or put him through a barrage of tests that would be super stressful and most likely result in a prognosis of "buying him a short amount of time". Dr. Anders was very clear in her explanations and gave a couple of scenarios that were possibly going on. I really could not put him through all that at 16 years old especially when he had such a hard time with going to the vet anyway. So I called the people who have been closest to Racer including the woman I got him from 6 years ago. In all 7 people came to a little courtyard outside the hospital. It was a warm sunny day and this special little beast was surrounded by people who loved him dearly. The doctor offered that I could come inside and be with him until the end, something they hadn't done in over a year due to COVID. Seems even she sensed how special Racer was. A week later I got such a lovely and moving sympathy card signed by the entire staff. I would not hesitate to recommend other pet owners to Pearl Animal Hospital. Their prices were lower than others and they were available during the height of the pandemic in Spring 2020 when no other veterinary clinics were able to see my cat for weeks out. They worked me in even though he was a new patient at that time. I was impressed with their approach to Racer's issues at that time and he got better right away. I have referred several people to them and will continue to do so. Thank you to the entire staff for your wonderful care and compassion!

The staff at Pearl Animal Hospital are amazing. They are personable, professional and go above and beyond to help their furry customers. When our cat was young he needed emergency surgery. They were able to get him in and fixed up that very same day. The building is clean, and in a very nice location. You can wait outside at the either nearby park, or grab a slice of pizza across the street. I would recommend Pearl Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a high quality, reputable vet in the area.

Our 15 year old dog needed a surgical procedure. We were worried about the safety of surgery at her age. Dr. Greene and her team took great care of us. She made certain that our pooch was in good health for the surgery and walked us through the process. Two weeks out and our dog is doing great. She was unphased by the procedure and is getting back to her upbeat self. We appreciate the time and care PAH took with our doggo. I’d highly recommend them to anyone seeking compassionate, honest care.

Always great service at the Pearl Animal Hospital. I highly recommend. No concerns leaving my pup for his all day diabetic trending appointments. I know they love him as much as I do.

This place is great, they treat you so kind and genuinely care about your pets needs. The only negative thing is their COVID protocol is not the greatest especially now that it is cold outside.

Recently had a visit and you could tell the staff was overworked. Staff was short (almost curt) and didn’t have enough time to even follow up from our visit (it’s been weeks). Also, I wasn’t super impressed with the feedback delivery cadence from the doctor. She was completely on-point on what she was suggesting we do, but was belittling and not at all relatable. I get that she’s highly educated and works with potentially bad animal owners on a daily, but come on...at these rates I fully expect customer service and it was severely lacking. Lastly, I’m still not sure of the full diagnosis, but hey...at least they handled the insurance stuff for us (hopefully)

Wonderful facility, very kind staff. Allegra was very sweet and helpful when explaining details for my kitties' appointment, she answered all my questions and made me feel confident in trusting them with my pets. 10/10 would recommend! :-)

I've been with Pearl Animal Hospital for a few years now. They saw my previous cat through his senior years as well as his demise (kidneys & cancer), and they are now shepherding my current cat through her adult years. They combine efficient professionalism with deep caring. Because they are efficient: there is never a too-long wait, all feedback happens in time, and paperwork is processed quickly. Because they care so much, my animal is "seen" in the most important ways - not just medical. When my old cat was dying, even I was truly "seen" by the doctors. Exactly what an animal hospital should be.

They really care and will do their best to make sure your pet is taken care of. My cat is a very anxious animal who hates the vet more than your common furry friend. They were able to successfully do a blood draw without sedation and I was so impressed at that fact considering her history with the vet.

Solid option for your pet. They are incredibly responsive and pleasant to work with. Like many vets in Portland, however, they are insanely high priced hence the loss of a star in this review.

Everyone was so friendly and SO helpful. They communicated with us at every step in the process, which was very much appreciated since we weren't able to go inside due to COVID. They called before, during and after the visit. Instantly sent us an email with all of our pet's treatments for the day, records, recommendations, etc, etc.
