One of the cutest cuts our doggo has ever had! A stylish punk Mohawk for our 1 year old cocker spaniel poodle cross.

Hard to go in for an all-in-one groom (wash, trim and nails) but we took what we could get! Excellent wash/dry and nails, but on the pricier side.

Natalie took awesome care of my anxious pup Toots ???? So happy with Toots full groom and Natalie's communication ahead of time about timeline and heads up text that Toots was almost finished. Thank you and we will see you soon for her next groom!

Updated: Hair Of The Dog is a great place for getting a haircut and wash for your dog. I've been here many times and the service is generally very quick compared to other places and they are very friendly. I had one issue here with scheduling that I felt could have been handled better on their end, but I understand it was during the wild heat wave we had. I was brushed aside and felt pretty salty about the situation as my dog was full on Wookie and was desperate for a hair cut. They offered me a wash but would not be able to do a cut. Bummer, but I get it. The owner reached out to my partner and cooler heads prevailed. My only issue was that I was first told I was late to an appointment which I was not. When I showed them the messages confirming my appointment time, I was still told I would be rescheduled while other customers waited after me with no talks of a reschedule for them, it felt odd and I was made to look like the irrational mutant in front of these other customers when I was there at the correct time. They even had me show the text message once they told me I was incorrect about my appointment time. They have my number, and it would have been cool if they reached out to me instead of my partner having to figure things out because I was too salty at the moment but again things happen and the timing was bad. The point of this novel is that they do an amazing job and its not the owners job to hold everyone's hand that might not have the best experience. You will be hyped and so will your dog on the work they do.

Got a nail trimming here and the girl said she had trouble with his front paws. Didn't think anything of it, because my dog doesn't like having his nails trimmed. Then, come to find out later when I got home she didn't trim half of the nails in front. ? Trouble eh? UPDATE: Owner replied, "Yes that sounds correct" so why would I pay for something that doesn't get done? If your policy is to stop, then why would I pay full price? He gets his nails trimmed all of the time, just because he doesn't like it, doesn't mean you can't do it. The proper step here would be to get someone to help, or ask if I have had trouble in the past and what steps did I take. All you need is one person to hold his leg. You'd think paying $10+ for 5 minutes of work you could do it properly. He is an old dog and not very stable, you'd think you would be ok with that...but no, once it is slightly difficult you just give up and still charge full price. BRAVO Never was I told "I didn't continue". I was just told she had trouble. If I were to say "I HAD TROUBLE opening this pickle jar" it wouldn't mean I didn't do it. It would convey that I had trouble BUT I did it...now had I said I DIDN"T open this pickle jar that is an entirely different story. Yes, that sounds correct.

First time to Hair of the Dog and I was really impressed. Their pandemic precautions were appropriate and effective, and they still found a way to make the process efficient. I took my two dogs in for a nail trim and the whole process took 15 minutes. Other places I’ve been in the past year can take up to an hour with you dropping off and picking up your dogs. Price was fair, and they were very friendly. Will definitely be back!

This was the biggest waste of time. I needed my dog's nails cut. I told them in advance that he is 75 lbs and very nervous. I told them that his daycare could not do his nails because he did not react well so they had recommended I go to them instead. Despite me informing them in advance over the phone, they insisted they could cut his nails. I don't think he was inside for more than about 30 seconds before the young woman came out of the store and informed me that she refused to cut his nails because it would require two people. Why couldn't they be honest in the first place? Or why not have 2 people present for a two person job? I took time off work to do this. Just no respect for potential customers. I really dislike this company.

Hair of the Dog Grooming and it’s employees have been awesome examples of how to continue their great work during these trying times to keep our pooches happy, clean, and healthy. Sacrifices have had to be made from patrons and employees to accommodate our needs and stay open in a safe manner for all. I for one am impressed and think they deserve recognition for their efforts and so do my fur babies.

We're done with this place. We had initially gone there and had good experiences. That was before they stopped answering their phone or returning voicemails. Almost impossible to get through to them. But because we liked them, we kept trying. We finally did get through and made an appointment for both our pups. When we dropped them off, they told us it was a busy day and it may be a few hours before they were done, which is understandable. We then got a call an hour and a half later saying that we immediately needed to come pick up our dogs, because they couldn't get one of our dogs to calm down. He was stuck in a kennel and panting hard, because his brother was out getting groomed. They didn't even seem to try and get him out of the kennel, which certainly would have calmed him down. I can't imagine our dog was the most excitable dog they've ever taken care of. You'd think a place that specializes in dogs would understand dogs behavior. So after all that struggle to even get them in, we didn't even get a grooming for him. Oh well.

EXTREMELY RUDE. I called here to see about an appointment for a groom but wanted to request that my dog not be put in a kennel dryer because she does not do well in them, they terrify her. All Hair of the Dog cared about was how they would send her home looking vs HER ACTUAL WELL BEING while being there. I don’t remember who I talked to specifically but I am appalled at how the situation was handled.

They don't seem to value their customers. They are all kind of rude and condescending, don't keep acurate notes on what services were scheduled, always seem confused as to why my dog is there and what was discussed while making my appointment. Closed on weekends now? Some of us have real jobs and need groomers who are still open on weekends. If you don't want to work weekends don't work retail. I'm going somewhere else for grooming.

We have been using Hair of the Dog for the past year and have always had a good experience there using their self-wash tubs. Today, I took my dog for a wash and explained before bringing him in that he is reactive. When we got into the tub, the attendant grabbed the collar and pulled him to lock him into the tub, and of course, he reacted by barking. He would never do that if I had been the one to fasten him in. Our dog enjoys his bath. He never has a problem going into the tub.The attendant told us that since he reacted, he was no longer allowed back for a wash. This did not have to happen, if he had not yanked on our reactive dog. The staff needs some additional training on how to deal with difficult dogs.

They did great job on both the dogs nails 2 weeks later and still nice. Added pic to show. The lady I spoke with and brought my dogs inside one by one (covid and all) was very friendly and helpful.

$13 for an excellent self serve bath in a very clean, organized space with excellent customer service. I’ve used a lot of self serve baths all over the western US and this was an excellent experience for me and my pup. The store is easy to find in an adorable PDX neighborhood with ample street parking just steps from the door. They provide a huge tub with an optional lifter for smaller dogs and it made all the difference. They ask you what type of shampoo you want to use and make you your own fresh bottle, there are several to choose from, the hypoallergenic tear free shampoo was my favorite. Combs and slicker brush available as well as rubbery bath brush for sudsing the shampoo. Water pressure is perfect, reminds me of a really good shampoo bowl water sprayer. Very high-quality blow dryer with multiple settings, they provide several towels as well as ear cleaner and cotton balls. This is everything a self serve dog wash is supposed to be, thank you!
