Outstanding training. Amanda is patient and it's able to find success wherever the dog and their humans are. Take your dog her for training!!

They shouldn’t refer to them as dog classes. Doug really trains you the owner to understand your dog. His one on one classes helped me with my pup who is now a confident dog. Well worth the money.

They are wonderful people. Took our puppy for playtime and she loved it! Don't have a yard so getting that play energy out helped her be a better dog for days afterwards.

Doug is such a fantastic trainer. I would highly recommend using his day program (instead of dog parks) to socialize your dog, and if your dog is a "tough case', he's the guy to help you understand what's going on. In my case, my dog had developed some very strong reactivity to meeting new dogs (after previously being a social butterfly). She still clearly wanted to play/socialize with dogs, but needed to do this in a controlled setting with predictable dogs. Doug patiently spent multiple sessions with us helping to understand her behavior and see if his day program could be a good fit for her. I had already educated myself a lot on dog behavior, but watching him work with my dog was like watching a professional chef - whereas I had just read a cookbook. Ultimately, Doug's program wasn't the best fit but he was able to see her "cap out" at about 5 dogs, and at that level, she was no longer reactive, but would instead remove herself from interacting (still a HUGE improvement). At that point, he recommended another company that does small group outings (Dog Adventures Northwest) which turned out to be perfect for my dog.

Was great for a couple of years, then abruptly canceled the afternoon classes and got rid of the small dogs. I think they prefer BIG dogs.

Wonderful people here, and my dog absolutely loves coming to play. She has learned so much and is much better behaved now. Highly recommended training and play groups!

I absolutely love Doggy Business! My little puppy is so happy and excited to be a part of the puppy socials and they couldn’t be more friendly! I would recommend this organization to anyone with a dog and particularly with a little puppy who loves to play.

Our family was looking for the right trainer for our anxious german shepherd. From the initial call to the initial in-home training, we have really enjoyed working with Doug. He is kind, a great teacher and experienced trainer in behavioral work. Our dog gets nervous and aggressive when guests come over to the home and we really needed help on that. So far we are a few session in and already seeing improvement in our dog. We look forward to continue our training journey with Doggy business.

Great staff, positive reinforcement only. Our Aussie loves to come play with his friends here, and we know all the dogs are well taken care of. Highly recommend for socializing and training needs.

We initiated contact because our dog is dog aggressive and anxious. She was around multiple other dogs in her foster home so we know she has it in her to be good with other dogs. Doug came to our house and for $100+ told us to work on calling her name...which she already responds to. We brought her in for another class and he introduced her to another dog extremely quickly, which wasn’t a positive experience for her. It seemed like he actually did not know what he was doing. He ended the appointment early and we scheduled another time to come in. When the day came he cancelled with us last minute and asked to reschedule. When I attempted to reschedule he never responded back and ghosted us. So for almost $200 we got no real help and no real advice. Doug’s behavior and training “methods” were unhelpful and had negative impact on my dog. If you are going to claim to be a dog behavior therapist then walk that walk. It seemed to us that Doug was more interested in boujee mild behavior dogs than a rescue pit bull. I’d recommend going elsewhere.

Taking our 11 week amstaff to puppy kindergarten and puppy socials. She was shy at first, but has really become comfortable in the socials. So far so good. I am looking forward to many more classes with our pup. Very welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. The trainers are very knowledgeable about what they do and are willing to answer any questions you may have during class.

The puppy preschool is a great class if you have a regular food motivated puppy and no other pets, but if your puppy has anxiety or issues more in the home with other pets, or being fearful of other dogs out on walks, this class doesn't cover that, the instructors didn't know what to do with my questions around this except to say I should get a behavior trainer to come to my home. It's pretty basic. I think the style of the training actually made my dog more fearful because it was more like the puppy was in charge vs me. In hindsite I wish I had a trainer come to my home first. Their style is all positive, which is great, but my puppy would get full of treats and not be interested as you basically give your dog treats the entire time. Also for us it was just a bad time of day because she was sleepy. I'm at home most of the time so she follows me around all day and by 7 pm she was ready for bed. By the time we left her nerves were shot and she was horrible on a leash trying to get back to the car freaking out on any dog she saw on the way.

Attentive, caring, happy trainers who provide a safe place for my dog to play, and meet other dogs. We’ve been going there for 3 years. They were so helpful with basic puppy training, and coaching us on how to address behaviors. My dog LOVES going!

The instructors here are awesome. They are interested in your dog's success and will help you find creative ways to achieve it. The class sizes are small so that they can focus attention on each dog individually. I have found it to be a great value and addition to the training that we do at home.

I'm addressing this review to the previous post from ANIMAL WOLVES. Please re-read their Web site. At the top of the page in bold red letters it says "ADVERSIVE FREE TRAINING. FYI That means no negative or painful reinforcement used for training. Further down the page is a section about what to look for when hiring a trainer. First it states when interviewing trainers if any of the several methods listed that use PAIN OR NEGATIVE training. You should find another trainer. For all that read this, I thank you. It really infuriates me when people post inaccurate review. And a negative aboutique a local small business. It is ignorance that can and will ruin a business..... Now for the 5 star review. Short and sweet. The place is nice and clean! The people are also nice and clean!!! And most importantly, they are very effective in training dogs......

Do not be fooled by the name!! This business is run by humans and not by doggies.

All I did was read the website and I was scared half to death. Under the how to hire a dog trainer it said the the trainer will use all these different methods that all have 1 thing in common....... PAIN!

This is the most wonderful place in the world for doggies and their owners! Our experience there started with Puppy Kindergarten and has continued with play groups, training and boarding for two years. The owners, Doug and Meredith, and all their employees are adored by their clients (the dogs) and it seems that every activity is planned and executed with a real loving spirit. They have discontinued boarding as of April 1, 2016, and we are in mourning as we look for a replacement service that will measure up to the standard we became accustomed to at Doggie Business. We will continue play groups and training there for the rest of our dog's life.....hopefully another decade at least!
