Great staff and very aware.

We originally were at a not named nightmare vet, luckily Buckman had room for us to join. They are so kind to our pets, communicate everything so clearly and check in before making any decisions. Not being in the room with exams during covid was really stressful and Buckman really put us at ease.

Buckman Vet is a fantastic clinic. All of the doctors and staff we have met have been caring, attentive, and great at what they do. I recently left the veterinary field after 7.5 years and it was difficult to give up that control of my pets healthcare but I can say that I fully trust the staff and doctors at this clinic. Highly recommend! The wait for new clients was several weeks but that is true for pretty much every clinic at this time. Buckman is worth the wait!

They weren't taking new patients. Very disappointed since I'm aging and my feline is lethargic and aging.

We love the staff here. Dr Carr has been treating our dogs for years and is an amazing vet, who cares for your pets as though they are her own...and she is brilliant. Definitely a good choice for the care of your furbabies.

After our dog was savaged by three coyotes, our initial care Dove Lewis provided was inefficient and inadequate at an exorbitant cost. Our follow up visit at Buckman was professional and reasonable. We would highly recommend Dr Johnson for your pets medical needs.

This is easily the best bet I've ever gone to. Every single person on the staff is amazing to work with. You can tell that they truly care about all the animals that come in for visits.

I am incredibly grateful to have found this gem of a clinic. Everyone there is superb, empathetic, an accommodating — front desk, vet techs, and veterinarian. Dr. Burges diagnosed and treated my Cairn terrier after I wasted $900 on two urgent care vet. She and Rachel, the super-competent vet tech) really homed in on her issue (instead of throwing the wrong medication at her), and Audrey is on the mend—though not thrilled about the “donut of shame” —but healing. Buckman saved me more unnecessary and scary diagnostics and assuaged my month-long anxiety. Oh— and Audrey really liked them.

They were really good with my dog and very careful with my cat who was scared and wanted to hide. They genuinely care about the animals they're taking care of and I appreciate that.

The friendliest, most helpful vet that you could ever hope to find. Every visit feels special when the staff put so much effort into everything they do. When we need vet records to be sent they couldn't do enough to help and ensure we had what we needed.

The best around, always provide the most honest and friendly care

Buckman Vet Clinic was absolutely fantastic with me and my cat, Robin. I got him the day things closed down for COVID-19, and moved out of Portland a year later, so my experience with them was all during COVID restrictions, and I was not able to go inside to see the facilities myself. The staff, techs, and vets were all fantastic with handling my new, shy, confused boy, and were excellent communicators with me. They noted and treated roundworms and an ear infection he had when I adopted him (neither of which appeared to be bothering him, I just brought him in for a general checkup and intake a few weeks after I adopted him), helped me clear up the ear blockage & infection when it persisted a few months later, and gave him checkups & travel forms so that I could take him on flights out of state for a visit and then a move. Despite being nervous in his carrier, Robin visibly relaxed when the techs came out to get him after he’d visited Buckman once already, and on the last two visits, the staff came out to apologize to me that it was taking a while to get him back in his bag - he was playing & watching the fish tank in the cat room! They even brought him and forms I needed to complete out to my car for me, parked a block away, once when it was raining, so that I wouldn’t have to wait out in the rain. Buckman always gave me their recommended treatment, estimated costs, and alternatives and those costs upfront, before treating Robin, which I greatly appreciate as a student on a tight budget (not that I’d withhold any treatment I could, but it’s always great to know whether I need to move money around and what to expect!). They provide paper copies of visit summaries after each visit, with clear, comprehensive instructions, including more general healthcare info like my cat’s weight, what his weight should be at his size, how much he should be eating, how to brush his teeth, etc. Staff members have been great about getting me copies of his records and receipts over email, and answering questions and concerns I’ve had over the phone, so that I don’t have to come in for every [overblown] concern I’ve had as a new cat owner! Thanks so much to the doctors and staff at Buckman for taking such great care of my boy. I highly recommend Buckman, especially if you’re a new pet owner like me, and want to make sure you’ll have good communication and a personal experience.

We appreciate everyone at Buckman Vet so much. Our pandemic puppy can be exceptionally shy around other people and everyone there is so patient when working with our dog - and even give him treats when we walk by to help his positive association!

Buckman Vet is the best! I can always count on them to take good care of my kitty and help me decide what’s best for him. They really take the time to talk with you and make sure your pet is happy while they are there. Wouldn’t take kitty anywhere else! Very thankful I have this awesome team looking out for my buddy! ☺️☺️

Our dog Tarzan hurt himself quite badly (ended up needing stitches!). We waited over 12 hours at DoveLewis (they were slammed) so we called Buckman and even though they weren’t sure they could help, they told us to bring Tarz to them. Their care was exceptional, and their staff was so caring and kind. We love this place! Thank you!

Pretty sure without the help of Dr. Burges I would not have a cat right now. Between Dr. Burges and the staff I still have my best bud. I called like 20 times in a week and they answered every call and question, bringing me confidence that what I need to do/they know what to do. It's been great.

A great AAHA certified clinic! We moved here from out of state and were searching only for AAHA certified veterinary clinics, as the level care is always superior. From the receptionists to the doctors, everyone is so kind and friendly at Buckman VC. Even during the pandemic, they take their time, talk to you, and they love your animal(s). We recommend them to everyone looking for a vet!

I can’t say enough good things about Buckman Vet! They’re kind, knowledgeable, attentive and very supportive. We had a small cat emergency and they were able to fit us into a very busy day, kept my cat so happy and well cared for and had him ready to go home by the afternoon. My cat loved his visit and it sounds like the team at Buckman treated him like their own pet (COVID regulations meant I couldn’t go in with him). I’ve only ever had amazing experiences at Buckman, from routine vaccination visits to scarier moments, and they have been incredible each time. Can’t recommend them enough. Every single team member I’ve ever interacted with is a total pleasure to chat to.
