My new Rescue Retro a 2 year old rottweiler pitbull mix was seen here today by the doctor and the amazing staff. They were so nice, and gentle and explained everything I needed to know. Seems very compassionate and I would highly recommend.

DON SCARPINETTO D.V.M., LITERALLY SAVED MY POODLE'S LIFE! In August, by dog became very ill. It looked as though he was bitten by an insect on his prepuce. He was treated at the ER on 185th because his vet was booked out over a month. I was told that there is a National shortage of veterinarians. His condition worsened. Days later, he I went to Best Care Animal Clinic in person and explained the situation. Dr. Scarpinetto & staff saw him after the end of their day. At this point, he was so sick, I was preparing for the worst - the loss of my beloved baby. They had to puncture his belly and flush him out again, the infection was flourishing under the skin and was traveling to other areas on his body. After he treated him, Dr. Scarpinetto recommended we see a Dermatologist ASAP. The bacterial culture came back negative for bacteria (which made no sense and was puzzling). Couldn't see a the dermatologist for over a month. Dr. Scarpinetto treated him with weekly antibiotics, a variety that changed after a week or more of treatment. He would allow me to send pictures of any developments to his cell phone and would immediately respond with advice. This was very reassuring and eased my anxiety. I have never experienced care like this from a veterinarian and I have had dogs all my life. I have been taking him in weekly to BEST CARE ANIMAL for a month. My baby began to improve last week. This Veterinarian is THE BEST. Extremely knowledgable. His pricing is the MOST reasonable I have seen for years. His staff is courteous and helpful. I have never experienced such excellent care. **THE PERSON WHO LEFT THE NEGATIVE REVIEW IS ABSURD. TOTALLY FALSE !!

This vet is very rude. Berates his employees I'm not too sure why they stay. Will try to add anything he can to the bill and completely disregard you. I took my dog to another facility to get checked out because they didn't have the equipment necessary and because of this Dr. S refused to give my dog his final prescription of antibiotics. It's the most insane and petty thing I have ever witnessed. Please don't bring your animals here. The techs are nice and they try their best despite the Dr but he should really retire.

I will NOT be returning. While I was in the waiting room two of the vet techs/front desk woman were gossiping about clients and how it's a "pain" when they come in- unprofessional. Do not take your pet to see Dr. Scarpinatto! Not only did he and another tech roughly grab by 30lb dog (who has extreme anxiety) and made him yelp, they both made multiple comments of, "What's wrong with this dog. I've never seen a dog who cried over everything." When I asked if we could allow my dog to get familiar with his surroundings, they both interrupted and continued. Again- unprofessional and rude. My dog was prescribed a new medication, and Dr. Scarpinatto said the front desk person would write up detailed instructions. However, upon checking out I did not receive this. When I asked for instructions, Dr. Scarpinatto yelled from the back saying, "Just tell her to read what it says on the bottle." He also continued to yell private information from the back while others were in the waiting room and could hear it all.

When we moved here 2 years ago we needed to find a local vet for our cat. Loved Best Care! They never tried to sell me unnecessary tests or procedures like VCA Rock creek did. Prices are very reasonable and the staff is amazing. We are looking to add a puppy to our fur family and will be using Best Care for all of his puppy needs, too. I recommend to everyone who asks!

Dr. Scarpinatto is an amazing Vet. I have been taking my fur baby Kokomo to him since we moved out here in the Pacific Northwest almost 4 years ago. When we first moved out here, we took Kokomo to a different vet who ended up just popping a cyst and not cleaning it or anything which made the cyst triple in size and this is when we found Best Care. I am so glad we found him, because he has made sure Kokomo was taken care of from day 1. His patients are his #1 priority, and he is very knowledgeable about everything he does and tries to pass the knowledge onto the owners to be sure the animals have their best quality of life. 100% would recommend him to anyone needing a new vet.

This is the kindest man with a big heart for animals. He's really concerned for not only your animal's health and care, but for their quality of life. He suggests options and treatments that give your animal the best chance of a good life before resorting to the typical scorched earth care policies of other vets.

The appointment for our 1 year old Rottweiler unfortunately was a horrible experience (mostly for my dog). I have been bring my animals to Best Care for about 4 years now, we had just gotten a new Rottie puppy in May 2019 and his first few visits were fine, nothing out of the ordinary. This last visit however on 6/22/2020 was far from great. With the current COVID restrictions happening right now there were understandably going to be some hurdles we needed to deal with during this visit. For example I could not be in the exam room with my dog, which is fine. So instead of allowing King the time he needed to get used to his surroundings in the room, they ordered me out and tried to keep him in the room, he was clearly stressed and anxious to be left alone with strangers. The door was closed but you could still hear everything the vet was saying, blaming me and my BF for not being “good owners” and teaching our dog to “submit” to complete strangers? (Yes sir cause that’s what every animals wants, to be poked with needles by someone he has seen twice). You would think after being in practice for over 22 years a seasoned Vet would understand how to make animals more comfortable in a cold white room. After they were done giving King is shots I was allowed back into the room so I could be berated by the vet on how “terrible” of a dog he is. Apparently this man has no patience for puppy shenanigans or stress. While being chastised for not being able to telepathically communicate to my dog that these people are just trying to keep you healthy and you should not squirm and be anxious, I was told that my breed of dog (Rottweiler) is the equivalent of a “Turban wearing, Gun toting Muslim”. I was shocked to hear such racial statements in reference to a stressed/anxious BABY animal from a so called professional. Needless to say.. we will not be returning.

I recently got my cat in for a checkup. Upon listening to her heart with a stethoscope, Dr. Scarpinatto said to me-- and I'm quoting -- "Have you ever seen a college football player running down the field and all of a sudden he falls over and dies? Well that's what could happen to your cat." He then explained that she had a heart murmur along with a leaking valve and that she was "one in a million" for her age and could go at any moment. Another person came in and confirmed what the doctor had told me. I was in tears and devastated. Two weeks had passed until I was able to get her to a. specialist (a cardiologist) for a second opinion. Once she was checked up, the Cardiologist told me that her exam was so normal it was almost "boring" to look at, and that she's completely normal and any "issues" were benign. He was apologetic when I explained why I brought her in. This comes from a place of compassion and I hate to give a business a low review, especially one that does help animals; but I'm sharing my experience so it doesn't happen to others. I would not recommend this place because I did not experience compassion or sensitivity when dealing with me or mine. Painting a picture of my pet's fate, --to the parent --is devastating.

Dr. Scarpinatto has taken care of three of my Chihuahuas with such love and compassion. He always has the animal's comfort in mind and he still makes sure that the owner is always part of the conversation about care.

I made an appointment last week for a friendly feral cat needing help with matted fur. The appointment was set for this morning. I fed the cat and got her in the box and went over there. They had no record of today's appointment. Complete disappointment and unprofessional. Now I have a very angry cat that probably won't ever trust me enough to try to help her.

Like another reviewer, I had to leave mid-appointment because I became increasingly uncomfortable with the rude comments the vet was making, the complete lack of bedside manners, and the poor medical practice. While filling out paperwork in the lobby, I could overhear the vet repeatedly berating one of the techs. When we got back to the room, he required a male assistant to hold down my <3lb puppy while he did an assessment. He never introduced himself to me or attempted to reassure my dog, but was making orders to both vet techs the entire time. He started making fun of my puppy for yelping when he roughly ripped through her hair with a comb. He asked one of the techs to go through the breeder's notes to determine which vaccines my puppy was due for (totally out of her scope of practice). When she told him "I need you to do that," he replied "I don't have the records in front of me...you need to do that." Fortunately, she put her foot down and refused. But by then, I had seen too much. When I spoke up, he excused his behavior by saying he's been in practice x number of years and is just doing his job. I had to leave at that point.

This Vet is the best. They totally helped my cat in need and saved me potentially thousands of dollars. The care he received help him very much and we couldnt be more thankful. If you are looking for a vet that has experience and is going to provide the best care possible, look no further

The vet has over 45 year of experience, his son also works there its family owned and family ran. The vet will really speak his mind and tell you exactly how he feels and his concerns. He uses his experience help not only the animals but people interacting with their animals. He genuinely cares and will do everything he possibly can to help it end with the animal being well care for.

This is a great place. Doc really cares and knows his trade. I was recommended this place by Tanasbourne animal hospital. My dog is a 13 year old pit bull. He had an abscessed tooth and I was firmly convinced he'd have to be put down. Initially doc though we could extract the tooth but then discovered he had a weak heart and was worried the shock of surgery would end him. Long story short, he was able to control the infection and bring my dog back from the end to being comfortable and happy again in his final years. He was able to adapt to my dog's situation and his 40 plus years of experience allowed him to make a good decision for my pet. You could tell that he really cared about the outcome and wanted to make sure I got as much time as possible with my old boy. His experience level is unmatched and he really has passion for what he does. Would highly highly recommend!

I love Best Care Animal Hospital. The Doctor and his staff truly love animals. I've been to a few Vets and he is the ONLY Vet I trust with my Brock. They know how to handle my Brock with compassion. You see my Brock is protective of me, but he trusts all of them, so he lets his guard down when we walk in. I truly believe dogs have the best sense of knowing when a person is genuin and shows that they will not want to hurt a living soul. The doctor doesn't push products on anyone, but will recommend the best for your best friend as my own physician does for me. This vet teaches me how to take care of Brock without making me feel stupid. All in all, he should be called VET OF THIS CENTURY.

Last week I found a dead cat that had been hit by a car outside my apartment complex. I picked it up and took it to this clinic to ask them to properly dispose of the body. (I’m a technician at a different clinic, but I live around the corner from this clinic.) The person working at the front desk seemed very confused by the request and told me that he couldn’t “do any charity work without my dad’s approval. It’s gotta be his idea.” So I ended up driving to Tanasbourne Veterinary Emergency where they took the body, scanned it for a microchip and alerted the county. I think the way a clinic treats stray pets says a lot about the clinic’s values. After this interaction, I definitely wouldn’t bring my pets here.

I chose to visit here when my cat was feeling sick primarily because they were really close to home, but the vet and all of the staff were really great to work with and I'll definitely be back for any more veterinary needs in the future.

My words can't express enough for the care and attention that my (difficult and sick) senior cat has received. Dr. Scarpinatto and entire staff are warm and friendly and have worked a well thought out action plan for my cats needs.

I have been taking my animals to Dr Don since he opened his office. When I had to put several of my pets to sleep because of sickness or old age who are just like children to me, he is the most compassionate, caring, Dr. that has been through this with me. They grieve with you, and it is so peaceful. I would not trust anyone else but Dr. Don and his staff to go through one of the most difficult decisions that you have to make. I’m forever thankful for this practice, and all the amazing people at Best Care Animal Hospital.

I am impressed with the way they handled our Elsa. Elsa is a rescue. She has a lot of issues and her behavior becomes worse when anyone including myself try to clip her nails, clean her ears or anything. The staff and Dr. Martin are just GREAT! I loved the fact they just did not knock her out to do a routine exam. But instead just put a muzzle on her.Things went better the second visit. Dr. Martin gave Elsa some meds to help calm her down along with the muzzle. We can only hope in time Elsa will figure out no one is trying to hurt her, but help her. She always feels better after it is all done. Thank You to each and everyone for being so kind and understanding. You All ROCK!!

No better vet in Beaverton. Took our cat there, he was diagnosed with diabetes. Dr. Scarpinato has been so amazing, so concerned and so involved. Even while on vacation for a month in S. America, he had me call him every morning with my cat's blood sugar numbers, that is how concerned he was. I would never go anyplace else.
