This is "the" place to take your cat! Kind and caring Doc and staff make for an enjoyable visit for pet and owner.

Excellent care and they even saw my cat last minute when she broke her hip, working with a specialist out of Seattle to get the right diagnosis. I brought my cat in when she was 8 weeks old and we went here for a year before switching vets to the Sellwood Cat Clinic in SE. Three stars because they cancelled her spay appointment at the very last moment due to the vet deciding not to do surgeries anymore, which meant that her spay was delayed 2-3 months (no other places offered any appointments, so I had to drive four hours to Tacoma and stay in a hotel to get it done) AND she went into heat before getting spayed, which I've read is dangerous for female cats and can trigger health concerns later on. If you need a great vet who is willing to take the time to explain in person what's going on with your pet (the staff seem to genuinely care about your animal!) and don't ever plan on getting any surgeries done, and can deal with last minute cancellations, this is a good and affordable place to go. If those are deal breakers for you, I'd recommend finding a different place.

Absolutely the best, most compassionate, knowledgeable and caring vet a cat mom could ask for. I wish I had found him sooner, but am very happy to know my kittens are getting the best care out there.

Excellent service. They really care about the cats they're helping, and they are very knowledgeable and happy to help their human customers. Dr. Dykehouse is knowledgeable, kind, empathetic, and cats turn into putty in his hands. If there ever was a cat wizard, it is him. Also, the rest of the staff are awesome and friendly.

We brought our cats here after much hemming and hawing about what vet clinic to go to. Argay is wonderful. The staff are all very nice and helpful. The vet explains things well and will offer advice without being pushy. The prices have all been reasonable, and they give you a heads up if something is going to be expensive. They have taken very good care of our cats so far, including our problem child, who had had to have some teeth removed. Overall very happy and pleased we chose Argay.

I'm looking for a new place to bring my cats after the vet was really dismissive about my cat's behavior issue. I felt totally unheard and talked down to.

I thought the best vet for me would be whatever's closest so the cats scream in the car for less time, but turns out it's worth the little extra drive for me to bring my cats here instead of the highly rated vet closer to me lol. Personal, caring service and non judgemental advice and info. Options and recommendations. Thoughtful follow ups. Everyone is so nice and relaxed! They've helped my cats through a few issues over the years and have been great.

This is the place you want for your cat. Pleasant and comfortable office with the nicest staff I've ever encountered. My cat is an outdoor animal and guess what? - they didn't try to shame me or convince me to keep her indoors! What a difference from other vets. They also didn't push anything. Not - a - single - thing! Most vets make me feel like I'm on a used car lot. They also have VERY good prices. New patient, steroid injection and an application of a flea medication that lasts 3 mos and it was only $166. That's amazing. The last vet I went to (Town and Country Animal Hospital) charged me over $500 for 2, 8 week old kittens with ear mites. I literally cried at the counter cause I had told them I only wanted the absolute bare minimum due to finances. Everyone at Argay was just kind, happy and helpful with no agenda. What a rare and unusual thing that is these days. Won't go anywhere else, ever

Henry is the best vet! The vet techs are great too! After having traumatizing experiences at our previous vet, our kitties were quick to warm up to the Argay staff. They are friendly, and super knowledgeable. The best place in Portland to bring your cats!

Friendly, knowledgeable, and responsive staff. We went for the first time when our cat was having symptoms of a bladder infection. I had the day off and was trying to make a same-day appointment. After being turned down by three clinics, including my regular vet, Argay Cat Clinic offered to have me drop my cat off and they would see him between visits when they could. I was so grateful! Dr. Dykehouse is generous with his time and answered my questions for 20 minutes even though I didn't have an official appointment. They called me within a couple of days to see how my cat was doing. When I've called with questions, the veterinary assistants are extremely knowledgeable (I've mostly spoken with Linnea and Yara, who are both awesome!) and Dr. Dykehouse gets back to me quickly if the assistants can't answer my questions. Dr. Dykehouse also discussed everything he was doing before he did it so the costs wouldn't surprise me. He gave me options when we could so we could choose the best course of treatment while also being mindful of the cost. The prices were much cheaper than VCA! We have switched over to Argay Cat Clinic for both our cats. I definitely recommend them!
