I was impressed with my cat's new patient / wellness check up. She was seen by a back-up or assistant veterinarian (so not Dr. Marshall) who was very gracious and professional. She answered all my questions in detail and did not make me feel like I was taking up her (valuable) time. I think they will take great care of my cat and look forward to next year's visit. I think the clinic has a good value. I was charged $83 for the appointment. This is ~$15 more than the price listed on google, but still a good value IMO for professional and punctual cat specialists. Their receptionists and assistants were very polite and professional as well. If Island Cats reads this -- you should remove public access from the price page if it's not current. I note that it's accessible via a google search for "Island cats" but is not accessible from the website itself, which makes me think you attempted to remove it from your website but only succeeded in removing it from your navigation bars. Might be something to talk to your website developer about.

Always great service. We have a cat that isn't so friendly with strangers. So it's amazing how well they handle her. In the past, other vets would have to use anesthesia just for a routine check up. But not with Island Cats. It is a little of a commute for us, but definitely worth the trip!

I'm glad to take my cat to this vet even though it's a bit far for me. I feel that this hospital is specialized in cat so my baby can receive a better treatment. I took my cat for regular check. They will only do regular check if your pet is in good shape and the doctor told me that my cat only need check once a year instead of twice a year. I'm relief.

The doctor took as much time with me as was necessary to discuss all of my concerns and was very knowledgeable and kind. I have every confidence that my kitties are in good hands.

I'm a nurse and am very picky about healthcare, especially for someone as important as my sweet 16 year old lady. Dr. Marshall and all the staff were sweet with her, and I could tell because she was calm by the time she got home. They were very thorough in her assessment and did a great job explaining her diagnosis, treatment options, and what further monitoring would look like. It also gives me confidence that they specialize in cats, since specialists tend to know more about their specific population and best treatment options. I loved the care we received here and will continue to take my old lady here until her very last day <3

Sammy seemed like he was in a bad place, and the doctor took care of him. I had become worried about his lethargy and lack of appetite, misunderstood the problem, and yet the doctor quickly figured out the actual issue and handled the delicate issues involved with compassion and grace and good humor. Sammy already seems to be bounding back -- sometimes literally with the counters and windowsills, the rascal -- often with plentiful, super affectionate meowing and leg rubbing. The booking was much quicker and more immediate than what I'd found in the surrounding area, the staff was friendly and professional, and I found the price reasonable especially given the outcome. Highly recommend.

I took my cat here after I experienced some frustrations with another vet. I wish I had taken her here months ago! Dr. K is the best. She's very responsive, explains things simply and thoroughly, and was able to figure out what was bothering my cat pretty quickly. My cat hates the vet and her visits cause a lot of anxiety, but she returned from her appointments unfazed. The rest of the staff is also very kind and helpful. If you're on the fence about where to take your fur baby, I highly recommend Island Cats.

There is no where else to take your cats! Everyone at Island Cats is so helpful and thoughtful. From texts to thorough phone conversations, they help you feel supported when your kitty needs help. I emailed about getting an appointment first thing Monday on a Sunday when they were closed, and they texted me back that night to confirm an appointment the next day. Great customer service. So thankful to have this resource on Mercer Island.

Very frustrating experience: 1) Waiting time was more than 30 minutes, 2) actual exam took about 5 minutes and cost us $75, 3) when I mentioned matted fur, I was offered help and then was charged $25 for a few shaved areas. It was not very professionally done and each mat removal was $5(x5) without letting us know how much it would cost upfront.

Dr. K is a professional vet, and she has provided us with many medication advises. We are very grateful to her for this. Every time we go to the clinic, although we can't get in, we think our cat should be taken a good care of. The clinic has a lunch time in about two hours at noon every day, so it is recommended to go as early as possible or go later in the afternoon to avoid waiting time. The only thing we did not understand is that our cat is stage 4 renal failure. His vital signs are very good before December 4th, although the blood test results are bad and all medications he took did not seems to work. We know our cat well and love him very much. Dr. K, in half a month, 4 times, a total of 4 times mentioned to consider euthanasia to our cat. We can accept your suggestion, but we don't understand why you keep mention that when we have a great hope on our cat. As a veterinarian, why do you have to repeat, over and over again, every time you write to us, tell us, let us consider euthanasia? Have you considered about our feeling? Have you considered about our cat’s feeling? You said that your concern is the life quality of our cat is reduced, so you suggest euthanasia. I don’t think this is all as a veterinarian. You can’t understand the quality of life of every cat. It’s not that the cat doesn’t want to eat, their quality of life is reduced. We feed our cat with a syringe every day. He is eating well and he has gained weight. You kept mentioning euthanasia every time and mentioned it so easily, do you really understand our feelings? Our cat, from the blood test, may have acidosis. Why don't you mention this or other possibilities that we should exam, but keep asking us to consider euthanasia? In this case, we are extremely dissatisfied. We think that in addition to professional knowledge, veterinarians need to understand and support feelings of pet parents both emotionally and morally, instead of just telling us easily just based on data, OVER AND OVER AGAIN: you should consider euthanasia, you should consider euthanasia, you should consider euthanasia. I hate this suggestion very much, very hate this suggestion, I think this is virtueless. In summary, if you want to take good care of your pets, go to this clinic. They have professional vets. If you are tired to take care of your pets, go find Dr.K. She will help you find the most effective solution in the world to your pet.

Fantastic cat-focused veterinary practice. Drs Marshall and Wolford are amazing. Super friendly, knowledgeable, and eager to share what they know. The staff are super kind and gentle with the cats as well. We've brought 2 cats there and love them. They also board!

When service is this good, you just stick with it. Dr. Gary Marshall has been our go-to vet for nearly 10 years now, since our cats were just little guys. Fortunately they have enjoyed good health. When the day comes for later life and end of life care, we will continue to appreciate Dr. Gary's expertise and kindness. Thanks so much!

Dr Marshall and his staff lovingly took care of a stray that was found and we had hoped to make better to find her a new forever home. Dr Marshall called around to try to locate a vet in the area with a grey cat missing from their owners. Sadly we didn't find the owners and the cat was too sick to save, but he did his ultimate best. We will be forever fans and clients of Dr. Marshall and his team.

Dr Marshall and Dr Wilford along with their staff provide excellent care for our sweet cats! I have been with the office for 6 years now with 3 cats and have always been totally satisfied with the care they have received. I wouldn’t trust my cats with anyone else.

We have gone to Island Cats through 15 years and 3 kitties/cats. We have 2 new 6 mos old kittens and they went to their first well baby visit yesterday. Everyone kvelled and as always Miso and Tigger were well cared for. We would go nowhere else.

I’ve been bringing my two cats here for years now. As they get older I especially want a doctor who specializes in cats. Dr. Marshall is so calm, makes my cats purr. I never get the feeling he wants to perform procedures they do not need. He’s so helpful and takes the time to talk about options, and detailed care. This was a good reminder to go pick up some food that’s better for my senior chats. Highly recommend Dr. Marshall. Well worth listening to them meow all the way there. After they’re relaxed and way better going home.
